GLO grants Vidor $15.8 million for drainage improvements

City of Vidor officials, and resident were thrilled to learn this week that the Texas Land Office had approved a $15.8 million grant the city had applied for much needed drainage improvements in several areas of the city. West Orange was also approved for a grant of almost $4 million.

Permitless carry heads to Governor

Texans who can lawfully carry a handgun, concealed or openly, would be permitted to do so without a license from the state under a bill that the Senate sent to Governor Greg Abbott Monday. Abbott has said he will sign the bill, HB 1927, making Texas the 21st state to pass such a law.

VHS Class of 2021 Graduation is Friday

The Vidor High School Class of 2021’s 271 graduates will hold its commencement ceremony this Friday, May 28th, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at Pirate Stadium in Vidor. If the weather is inclement, the ceremony will be held in Pirate Gym.

Vidor park plans to be revealed Thursday

The results are in but are being kept under wraps until this Thursday when the public will get a chance to see what the future may hold for all existing and possible future Vidor municipal parks. The public hearing will be held at 7:00 p.m.

Voting in mayor runoff election begins Tuesday

Early voting in Vidor’s runoff election for mayor gets underway at the Raymond Gould Community Center Tuesday, June 1. Early voting will be conducted each workday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

BC warrant leads to meth, firearm arrest

On 05/12/2020, the Orange Regional Tactical Response Team executed an evidentiary search warrant at 1101 Bernice in Bridge City, Texas. The warrant was in reference to narcotics being sold from the residence.
