The Orange County Emergency Services District #1 responded to the following calls from Monday, January 10, 2022, through Sunday, January 16, 2022. ‘MVC’ indicates a ‘Motor Vehicle Collision.’ ‘UTL’ means firefighters were ‘Unable To Locate’ the call.

Lady Pirate soccer play in PNG’s Cajun Classic

The Vidor Lady Pirate soccer teams traveled to Port Neches Thursday-Saturday to participate in the annual Cajun Classic Soccer Tournament. Opening play Friday the varsity beat Hamshire Fannett 1-0 off a goal by Amelia Wright. JV opened play with a loss to Pasadena.

Texas school districts recently received their Federal Accountability Results, a scorecard by subject used for gauging a district’s performance year to year, or it may be used for the public to check how their local school district stacks up against other districts or the statewide average.

Council approves new Ward boundaries

Vidor City Council approved new Ward boundaries Thursday that closely balances the population totals for each of the city’s six wards. Redistricting is conducted every 10 years after the national census to ensure equal representation of citizens by taking into account population changes.

TEMA All State Choir

Vidor High School sophomore Julia Bourgeois was awarded a place in the 2022 TMEA (Texas Music Educators' Association) All-State Choir. She will be performing with other students from all over Texas at the Texas Music Educators' Convention and Clinic in San Antonio this February.
