The Vidor ISD Board of Trustees

The Vidor ISD Board of Trustees was recognized at the January meeting, which is also School Board Recognition Month in the State of Texas. Each member received a gift from the VISD Curriculum Department as well as a book dedicated to one of the VISD school libraries.

Eleven year old Davyon Johnson of Muskogee, OK had a superhero day recently, reports the Association of Mature American Citizens [AMAC]. While at school he spotted a classmate choking; the boy had accidentally swallowed a bottle cap.

Vidor Middle School January EOM

Marilee Johnson of Vidor Middle School was chosen by Superintendent Dr. Jay Killgo as the Vidor ISD Employee of the Month for January. She was recognized for coordinating the District's UIL teams for elementary and middle school grades, and doing so with professionalism, knowledge, and efficiency.

Winner of the Oak Forest Elementary fourth grade spelling bee was Arianna Le, pictured right. In second place was Hashir Ali, and in third place was Khloe Thrasher, left. Le's winning word was 'bogus,' which she spelled in the 26th round.
