Jordan Smith, Vidor’s 6’1” senior noseguard and 2021 superlative selection as All-District MVP signed with Abilene-based Hardin Simmons University Wednesday in Pirate Gym. Smith will join two recent VHS graduates, Gage Galloway and Brad Nunez at HSU.

This past Monday several Vidor High School students performed in the school finals for the 118th Stark Reading Contest. Cameron Cain placed 2nd in interpretive reading with a $1500 scholarship, Triston Tinkle placed 1st in interpretation with a $2000 scholarship.

Vidor Elementary students in Mrs. Majors' class had a great time learning about Chinese New Year. A student's mother prepared over 20 Chinese bento boxes, allowing everyone to partake in the Lunar New Year tradition.

For Hope Week the Vidor Middle School 5th grade art classes made positive messages on origami Valentine hearts for the high schoolers to take with them. The 5th graders were excited to be able to give encouragement to the teenagers with their artwork.
