The Vidor Lady Pirates are off to a great start in the 2023 volleyball season with wins at Hamshire Fannett Tuesday and winning the Championship title at the Silsbee Tournament Saturday by defeating all challengers.

Coaches get better look at Pirates in Bridge City scrimmage

Vidor coaches said they were generally pleased with the Pirates’ performance Thursday as they hosted the Bridge City Cardinals for the seasons’ first scrimmage.
“I thought we got a lot of good work in,” said Darin Fletcher, defensive coordinator for the Pirates.

State Wildfire Preparedness Level raised to Level 4 as high

Texas A&M Forest Service has raised the State Wildfire Preparedness Level to Level 4 due to the recent increase in wildfire activity across the state and the growing potential for wildfires to become more severe, making them harder to control.

The 2023-2024 4-H year officially kicks off September 1st, with early enrollment beginning August 15th. Orange County 4-H of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is excited to welcome new and returning members to another year of 4-H programming and opportunity.

Pirate Tennis hosts Goose Creek to open season

There was plenty of action for the young Vidor Pirate Tennis team Monday with all courts full as the Pirates hosted Goose Creek Memorial Tennis to kick off the 2023 season.
The Pirates youth was a disadvantage in the match up but they remained competitive and showed improvement as the day wore on.
