Irene Scherry Goeddertz, 83, longtime resident of Vidor passed away peacefully at Tiffin House in Georgetown, June 14, 2024. Survivors include her daughter and son-inlaw, Terry and Dave Deering, sons and daughters-in-law, Billy Jr and Bonnie Scherry, Tommy and Paula Scherry, Brian and Tamara Scherry, Mark Scherry, as well as her 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was a hard worker and quick to assist anyone who needed help. She visited the sick and volunteered her time at a local thrift shop as well as assisting in making baby quilts for newborns. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial remembrances be made to Main Street Ministries Women’s Care Center in Vidor 409-769-2418. Irene enjoyed her time volunteering for the Women’s Care Center for several years to help others.
