Former Vidor councilman files

Only one race in the Vidor municipal election is contested with half the month long filing period gone. Until this week, two of the four open Vidor City Council positions had no candidate. On May 9, voters will determine who represents Wards One, Four, and Six on the city council as well as elect a mayor. Two weeks into the filing period, candidates are sparse with only the mayor’s race contested with incumbent mayor Kenneth Crawford, being challenged by current Ward 6 councilman Robert L. Viator, Jr.
