Vidor man arrested for fatal hit and run crash of October 2014

A three month long forensic investigation into a fatal hit and run collision has led to the arrest of a Vidor resident, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Thirty-seven year-old George David Welch of Vidor has been arrested for failure to stop and render aid resulting in a death, a second-degree felony charge. Welch turned himself in and was arrested less than twenty- four hours after the TXDPS announced that he was the suspect in the case and that he was a fugitive from the law.
