Students at Vidor Junior High School were held in their classrooms for about ten minutes on Friday morning when a student there received a threat from another child via Snapchat© text. School authorities suspect the threat came from a child who made the threat from another community.

The Orange County Precinct #2 Commissioner’s Office in Mauriceville on Highway 62 was badly damaged during Hurricane Harvey and subsequent floods. The cost to repair the building is more than the insurance claim that was paid. The new Precinct #2 County Commissioner, Theresa Adams Beauchamp, wants her new office to be located closer to the center of her precinct.
