Lady Pirate softball team wins District Championship

The Lady Pirates clinched the District Championship last Tuesday with a 10-3 win at Lumberton. The Ladies lost their final game of the season at home against Port Neches- Groves 3-2. They finished District play with a 13-1 record. In the first round of the playoffs they play Galena Park at Goose Creek at 7 p.m. Whitney Howerton was the winning pitcher in the Lumberton game with four strike outs. McKenzie Andrus had three hits and scored two runs. The big hit of the game was a double by Raven Britt with the bases loaded scoring three runs. Evelyn Baker had a triple, single and scored two runs. Kalli Edwards had two hits and played good defense. Catcher Kaleigh Desormeaux had two hits and one RBI. Asha Howard had one hit and a fielders choice and scored two runs.

Don’t let muddy water keep you from fishing

During all of my years of fishing for bass I chunked lures in some really muddy water. At  irst I believed that bass wouldn’t bite in muddy water but as the years went by I learned that they will. Sometime if there is a rapid influx of cold muddy water that can really make fishingdifficult. However, within a couple of days the bass will acclimate to the new environment  and start feeding again. Speckled trout and redfish are no different but the difference is salt water. Everyday events trigger flashbacks

It is strange to me how certain verbal or visual images will trigger a thought of something that happened in the past. It happens with all sorts of things that are tucked away far back in the recesses of our brains; things to do with our childhood, relationships, work life, or whatever. Some are very pleasant  ome not so and some have been long forgotten and then called out  of memory.
