Lady Pirate softball defeats Lumberton

Lady Pirate softball remains in first place  in District with a 10-2  win against Lumberton.  n the first inning Vidor scored three runs on hits by Keeli Milligan, Evelyn Baker and Mckenzie Andrus. Milligan stole two bases and was at third when Kalli Edwards hit a hard grounder and  cored Milligan. Baker’s hit scored Edwards.  Andrus, who was three  for four, also hit a three run homer over the centerfield fence. Milligan also had three hits and scored two runs.

Lady Pirate softball opens District with 3-2 win at Nederland

The Lady Pirate softball team came through in the top of the seventh, scoring two runs to defeat the Lady Dogs 3-2. The Lady Pirates had a 1-0 lead until the fifth inning on McKenzie Andrus’ towering home run.

Lady Pirate soccer moves to first place with 2-1 win

The Lady Pirate soccer team moved to first place with a 2-1 win over the Lumberton Lady Raiders Friday night at Pirate Stadium. It was Senior Night for five Lady Pirates who have played awesome in their VHS careers.

LCM Prose-Poetry team all place

The Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School UIL Prose/Poetry team ventured to Brenham this weekend to take part in the large Central Texas Academic Tournament. All six of the readers advanced through difficult Preliminary and Semi-Final rounds to reach the Finals, the only school to do so. Placing in Poetry Finals are Mariah Blair, 4th Place, Rebecca Sanford, 3rd Place, and Alex Borel, 1st Place.

The Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School Quiz Bowl Team won the second round of the Channel 6 Academic Challenge on Saturday, February 21.

LCM Third in Warren Tourney

Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School Lady Bear Golf Team captured Third Place at the Warren Tournament held at Wildwood. Lauren Cox was Second Place medalist with a 74. Nederland won the tournament and PNG was second. Vicki Castino is coach for the Lady Bears. Pictured left to right are Theresa Beckett, Hope Henry, Ashley Young, Kacie Nichols and Lauren Cox.

Lady Bears named All-District

Five Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School basketball players were named to the All-District Girls Basketball Team. Josie Nimitz earned Defensive MVP, Tori Thompson and Grace Chen were named First Team, Sheridan Rogers was named to the Second Team and Maddie Frey is an Honorable Mention. The Girls Basketball coach is Linda Riddick.

Girls’ Golf

Congratulations to the Lady Pirate Golf Team. They took 1st Place at the Ozen Tournament at Bayou Din today. Team members l-r are: Nyah Sciarrilla, Kayla Lee, Aimee Clayton, and Baylee Sims. Kayla also took 3rd place overall honors at the tournament.

Lady Pirate soccer team has wins

The Lady Pirate soccer team got back on track last week with wins over Baytown Lee and Beaumont Ozen. They lost their first game two weeks ago gainst the Nederland Lady Dogs. This Friday night at Vidor the JV and varsity teams play Goose Creek Memorial. The last home game and Senior Night will be March 13th against Lumberton.
