Softball Signers

Kalli Edwards and Whitney Howerton signed on Monday to play college softball. Kalli, daughter of Steve and Theresa Edwards, will be going to Blinn. Her batting average is .387, she has 38 stolen bases, and was named 1st Team All-District. Whitney, daughter of Robert and Tonia Howerton, has committed to Angelina College. She was named Super Gold Team, has 123 strike outs, an ERA of 0.81, and 100 punch outs.

Girls teams sweep Port Neches-Groves

The varsity girls won their first district game of the season by defeating Port Neches-Groves 40-36. Sophomore Katelyn Vincent led the team in scoring with 11 points and had several rebounds. All the players contributed to the win.

Cross Country Winners

 
Two Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School students had very good runs in cross country competition this year. Senior James Armstrong easily won District and freshman Olivia Keltz placed second at District. They both qualified to run at Regionals and Olivia advanced to State. The Board of Trustees recognized both students for their accomplishments during the regular meeting on January 2. Dena Adkins is the LCM Cross Country Coach.

Croft Signs Letter

Dalton Croft, a Vidor High School senior, signed to play baseball on a full scholarship at Panola Junior College. He is joined by all his teammates. Dalton is a three-time All District shortstop, 
was named Freshman of the Year by the area coaching association, and was also named to the Beaumont Enterprise Super Gold team his freshman year.

Ninteen LCM Players earned All-District honors

Carter Beck, Robert Green, Tyler Brown, Coby Roddy, Kade Bland, Ethan Reed, Chris Schilz, Drake Trawhon, Mitchell Lee, Dylan Gruber, Chris Winters, Bay Quebodeaux, Marvis Brown, Trey Chandler, Marlon Sanders, Reese Bromley, Taylor Hulsey, and Sam King. Not pictured: Jake Sonnier.

Nineteen Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School boys claimed 22 honors on this year’s District 10-4A Football team. Athletic Director and Head Coach, Randy Crouch, introduced them to the Board of Trustees at Monday night’s Board meeting.

Volleyball team recognized by LCMCISD school board

During the recognition portion of the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Board of Trustees meeting, the Board recognized the Volley Team for their outstanding accomplishments – as a team and individually. The team took the District Championship, with a 38-5 record overall and 12-0 in district.

Girls JV team defeats Beaumont Ozen in overtime

The Lady Pirate JV basketball team won in overtime over the Ozen Lady Panthers Friday night at Pirate Gym. Both teams played hard on defense resulting in a low scoring game with the Lady Pirates winning 32-30. The win was a team effort as every player contributed to the victory. Coach Aaron Credeur also coached a great game. On defense Rylea Rutledge had over 10 rebounds and played great defense with several steals. She also scored seven points on offense.

Both Vidor varsity basketball teams lose to Nederland

The Lady Pirates varsity team is now 0-3 in district play after losing to the Nederland Lady Dogs Friday night at Nederland. The Lady Pirates were up 21- 18 at halftime but couldn’t put the Lady Dogs away in the second half. Senior Makayla Darbonne is still injured but will be back soon.

Bret Hall named First Team All-District in 22-5A football

Defensive back Bret Hall was named First Team All-District for his play at corner back for the Pirates. Hall also was a good receiver on offense for the Pirates. Running back Blake Rowe made second team. Named honorable mention on Super Gold teams were Michael Marion and Haylon Leckelt.
