LCM’s Cox takes first at Warren Golf Tourney, girls take second in team competition

The Lady Bear golf team finished second in the Warren golf tournament at Wildwood Country Club on Monday, February 29th. Lauren Cox, pictured at right, won first individually with a one under par of 72.

Vidor High School has three Pirate powerlifters who are Regional Qualifiers- Dustin Tatar, Dalton Poteet, Blake Shafer . Coach is Rodney Burks.

Lady Pirate Basketball

The JV Lady Pirate Basketball team won 1st place in District and the Freshman Lady Pirate Team won Co-Championship. On Varsity, Jessica Trahan won 2nd Team All District, Hannah Broyles and Jacey Trahan both won Honorable Mention. Kennedy LaPray also took 2nd team all- district. These girls are coached by Head Coach Shad Smith, JV coach Aaron Credur and Freshman Coach Logan Wilson.

Brigettes Compete

The Vidor Jr. High Brigettes traveled to New Caney High School on Feb. 6th to compete in the American Dance/Drill Team contest. They received sweepstakes trophies in both the officer and team categories. The Brigettes also received the judges’ awards for their kick routine, presentation, choreography , and first runner up in their age division. Director is Mrs. Trisha Barnes.

VHS Girl´s Golf Takes Third

The Lady Pirate girl’s golf team won thi rd place at the Vidor Lady Pirate Golf Tournament on Thursday, Feb ruary 18 at Brentwood Country Club. Team members are Aimee Clayton, Kayla Lee, Baylee Sims, Gracie Harris, Kiersten McGlothlin, and Bailey Hale. They are coached by De Walker.

Bears Sign

Two Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School football players took advantage of National signing day to ink with the colleges of their choice on February 3rd. Mitchell Lee signed with Southeastern Louisiana University and Stuart Viator with Stephen F. Austin University. Both Lee (81) and Viator (99) played tight end for the Bears.

District Champions

Vidor High School girls’ swim team were District champions. Left to right they are Tia LaForge, Gaby Duke, Carly Bessire (captain), Zoe Bahl, and at top Cassie Wright. Coach Berti Loken is at right. Carly Bessire had a total of four gold medals at the event.

LCM boys golf team places 4th

Little Cypress-Mauriceville boys golf coach, Bart Williams, reports that the LCM team finished Fourth at the Hardin Jefferson tournament. Individual scores were Evan Toohey - 80, Reese Soliz – 83, Tyler Ridgaway – 84, Trey Love – 87, and Hunter Hooks – 90.
