Pirates dominate the

By Randall Luker

The score wasn’t the only lopsided aspect of Friday night’s 42-7 victory over Beaumont Ozen. The Panthers never hadmuch of a chance with Vidor’s Slot-T offense keeping the Panther offense sidelined for most of the game. Vidor’s run oriented offense amassed 472 yards on the ground on 63 attempts, an average of nearly 7.5 yards per carry with no aerial attempts. Vidor’s solid defense limited the Panthers to just 92 yards total offense with 30 of those coming through the air.

Pirates shutout Pasadena

By Randall Luker

The Vidor Pirates dominated the Pasadena Memorial Mavericks Thursday in Pasadena 21-0. The Pirates racked up 434 yards total offense while holding the Mavericks to just 63 yards total offense and only two first downs in the first half, both courtesy of Pirate penalties. Vidor received the kickoff and started on their own 20. Quarterback Maverick Quirante handed the ball off to Hogan Stogner on first down for short gain. On second down, Kolbie Humble raced for a 78-yard touchdown, but a clipping penalty brought it all the way back to the Pirates’ 22.
