Marcelle Sheppard

Marcelle Sheppard, 90, of Collinsville, formerly of Friendship and Vidor, died Monday, September 23, 2019 in Sherman, Texas.

Funeral service was held 2:00 pm Sunday, September 29, at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville, Texas.

Born February 1, 1929 in the Friendship Community near Roganville, Texas, she was a former resident of Vidor and Friendship before moving to Collinsville.

She is survived by her son, David Sheppard and wife Cara of Collinsville; and four grandchildren, Matthew, Taylor, Lauren and Luke Sheppard.

REBECCA LEE BLOCK

Rebecca Lee Block, 61, of Groves, Texas was taken to her heavenly father on Sunday, September 15, 2019, while at home with her family. Rebecca was born on February 28, 1958 in Port Arthur to Norman Walker and Cynthia Solberg. Rebecca was owner and operator of a hair salon in Port Arthur and Groves for decades. Rebecca is survived by her husband, Vaughn Block of Groves, her mother, Cynthia Solberg of Groves, her daughter, Jessica Hughes Atkinson of Groves, her son, Chris Blocki of Clear Lake, son, Corey Block of Port Neches, son, Chase Block of Port Neches, her brother, Brian Walker of Dallas. Rebecca is also survived by her aunt, Kathy Page of Vidor and her uncle, Don Sodman of Groves. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a gathering of family and friends from 12 noon until service time. Officiating the service will be Rev. Charles Miller. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.

KACY DEL GOTTE

Kacy Del Gotte, 28, of Groves, Texas passed away Friday, September 13, 2019 at Southwest Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston. Kacy was born April 3, 1991 in Port Arthur, Texas, and he was a lifelong area resident. He was a 2010 graduate of Nederland High School and was the assistant manager for Benton’s restaurant. Survivors include his mother, Stephanie Harrington and husband Darrell of Beaumont; father, Corey Gotte and wife Robin of Vidor; sister, Dana Glenn of Beaumont; brothers, Derrick Wales of Beaumont, and Dante’ Hurst of Nederland; stepbrothers, Chris Shuler of Vidor, and Anthony Shuler of Mississippi; grandfather, Harold Wales of Beaumont; grandmother, Wanda Gotte of Vidor, and great-grand- mother, Altie Ozio of Groves. A visitation for family and friends was held Monday, September 16, 2019 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 12, at Claybar Kelly Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont. A Graveside Service will be 12:00 p.m., Saturday, September 14, at Winn Hill Cemetery in Jack County.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Claybar Kelly Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont.

Helen M. Jeffers, 87 of Vidor died Wednesday, September 4th, 2019 in Vidor. She was a native and lifelong resident of Vidor. Helen retired from Dupont after 33 years as a secretary. She was married for 66 years to Frank Jeffers. Helen loved spending time with her family. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Helen is survived by her daughters Narcille Noble of Mauriceville, TX, and Karen Jeffers of Vidor, TX, and 3 grandsons.

Deborah Denise Reasoner passed away Monday, August 26, 2019 in Crockett, TX, from a long illness. She is survived by 5 children, Adrian Iglesias of Beaumont, TX; Heather Iglesias-Johnson of Ellisville, MS; Michael and Casey Webb of Jena, LA; Toni Branch of Gardendale, AL. Also 3 sisters, Sharon Abbott and Barbara McLaughlin of Vidor, TX and Janelle Roberts of Orange, TX and her longtime companion, Pete Foreman of Houston & Crockett, TX. Family is planning a small memorial on September 13th with place and time to be determined.

Clifford “Punky” Mott, 81 of Vidor, TX died Wednesday, August 28th, 2019 at his home. A native of Beaumont, he was a longtime resident of Vidor who enjoyed going to the casinos and playing bingo. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Punky is survived by 1 daughter; Amy Sterling of Vidor, 1 son; Adam Mott and his wife Lachelle of Vidor, 2 grandsons, and 1 sister; Joyce Rutledge of Mauriceville. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

Aaron Bruce Wolfe

Aaron passed away on Monday, August 26th, 2019 at the age of 40, in Orange, Texas.

He was born in Beaumont, Texas on October 7th, 1978. Aaron went to Vidor High School, graduating in 1997. He then went to college and graduated in December of 2001 with degrees in Business and Computer Information Systems and Management Development, both with Honors from Lamar Institute of Technology in Beaumont, Texas. He was employed as a Senior Systems Engineer with several prestigious organizations including Atlantic Scaffolding of Columbia, MD, University of Maryland Medical School in Baltimore, MD, Texas Mutual Insurance of Austin, TX and the U.S. Veterans Administration in Austin, TX. Aaron was medically retired in 2015.

Andrew Nolan Verrett Sr.

Andrew Nolan Verrett Sr., 87, of Vidor, TX died Friday, August 30th, 2019 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, TX. A native of Freeport, TX he was a longtime resident of the Vidor area. Andrew retired from the U.S. Marine Corps in 1970 after serving 20 years. He served in both, the Korean War and Vietnam Conflict where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart medal. Andrew worked in law enforcement for various law enforcement agencies after his military duty and eventually retired as the Chief of Police for Bridge City. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening but he especially enjoyed spending time with his family and pets.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 3, 2019 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at 2:00p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Orange.

JOHN “JOHN JOHN” V. LEWIS

John V. Lewis, 47 of Vidor died Monday, August 19th, 2019 in Vidor. A native of Beaumont, Texas, he was a lifelong Vidor resident. John John enjoyed working on race cars and riding his bicycle. John John was known and loved by many people here in Vidor. He was taken from us too soon. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. John John was survived by his son Jody Lewis of Beeville, TX, sisters Sunshine Lopez and Billie Will both of Vidor, TX, and several nieces and nephews.
