Joseph “JD”

Joseph “JD” Breaux, 91, of Vidor, TX died Monday, May 7th, 2018 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont, TX. A native of Jefferson Island, LA he was a longtime resident of Vidor. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. JD enjoyed square dancing, going camping and building bird houses. He also enjoyed listening to Blues music. Visitation will be Thursday, May 10, 2018 beginning at 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Friday, May 11, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. JD is survived by 2 sons; Ronnie Breaux of Wills Point, TX and Mark Breaux and his wife Glenda of Vidor, 5 grandchildren; Tommy Breaux, Kris Raab, Kelly Evans, Carla Perrio and C.J. Breaux.

Thad Lee Davis

Thad Lee Davis, 49, of Vidor, TX died Monday, May 7th, 2018 at his home. A native of Pt. Arthur, TX he was a longtime resident of Vidor who worked at EPS for 25 years. He liked fishing and story telling and was known as being a jokester. Thad always had a smile on his face. He was very outgoing and never met a stranger. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 5:30p. m. to 8:30 p.m. at Turning Point Church with dedications beginning at 6:30 p.m. Thad is survived by his fiance’ Danna Elder, parents; Teddy and Pat Davis and Joe and Vicky Benoit, children; Chase and Rachelle Davis, Candice and Joel Pena, Courtney and Jeremy Scheler, Beau Manuel, and Blake and Emma Manuel, siblings; Audra Davis, Vance and Anna Davis and Brittainy Davis and Austin Wilson, and grandchildren; Avery Davis, Chloe and Rylee Manuel, Austin and Clayton Proffit, Raylee Scheler, Aiden, Sofia, and Mila Pena.

Robert Luther Jackson

Robert Luther Jackson, 97, a longtime resident of Vidor, died Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Vidor Health and Rehab. He worked as an accountant for Gulf Oil for 40 years and was a World War II veteran of the US Army Air Corps. He was a prisoner of war and won the French Legion Medal of Honor and a Purple Heart. His service was held at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. The graveside was held at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, at 2:30 p.m. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jackson of Vidor; daughter, Marilyn Williamson of Port Arthur; son, Mark Jackson of Vidor; brother, Charles Jackson of Bridge City; four grandsons; and eight great-grandchildren.

Charles Keith Allison

Keith Allison, 56 of Vidor died Friday, May 4, 2018 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. He was a longtime resident of Vidor and was a self employed welder. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, burial followed at 1:00 p.m. at Allison Cemetery in Warren. He is survived by his wife, Paula Allison of Vidor; son, Clayton Allison of Golden, CO; daughter, Alicia Finley of Orange; mother, Ora Lee Allison of Vidor; sister, Diane Peveto of Vidor; and three grandchildren.

Donald Byron Boone

Donald Byron Boone, 68, of Vidor, died Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home. A native of New Orleans, LA, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. He is survived by brothers, Buddy Boone of Boutte, LA, Dr. Eugene Boone of Vidor, and Christopher Boone.

Betty Griffith Duncan

Betty Griffith Duncan, 87, of Nederland, died Friday, May 4, 2018. She retired from Jefferson County Tax Office after over 20 years. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2018, Hillcrest Baptist Church, Nederland, with her interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches. Survivors include her husband, Don Duncan, of Nederland; sons, Johnny Lovett of Mauriceville and David Lovett of Port Neches; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and and sister, Carleen Guin of Pitkin, LA.

Dan “Coon” Taylor Thomas

Thomas, 89 of Mauriceville died Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Summer Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Beaumont. He was a native and lifelong resident of Orange County and retired from American Bridge/U.S. Steel after 40+ years as a welder. He was a Korean Conflict veteran of the U.S. Army. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Eaves Cemetery in Gist. He is survived by his son, Glenn Thomas of Mauriceville; sister, Kitty Coats of Deweyville; two grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to National Kidney Foundation.

Bobby Foxworth

Bobby Foxworth, 83, of Vidor Texas went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.  Loving memories are left to his children Gary Foxworth, Ricky (Elizabeth) Foxworth and Judy Foxworth; Siblings Lavelle (Betty) Foxworth, Anne Reese and Larry (Sheila) Neal; Grandchildren Joseph (Megan) Blanchard, Amanda (Scot) Sheldon, Derrick (Christel) Foxworth, Garrett (Lindsey) Foxworth, Evan Foxworth, Ryan Foxworth and Skylar Foxworth; 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years (Rosie), his parents (Jimmie Neal and Ernest Foxworth), brothers (Leroy Foxworth, Clyde Foxworth) and sister (Joyce Grissom).He retired from the City of Beaumont and devoted his life to making the world a better place.  He enjoyed volunteering alongside his wife and friends at the United Christian Care Center.

Ron H. Eaves

Ron H. Eaves, 70, of Vidor, TX died Sunday, April 29th, 2018 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont, TX. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served during the Vietnam war and a member of Pecan Acres Baptist Church. He retired from the City of Beaumont as a locksmith and maintenance engineer. Ron enjoyed working on cars and doing classic restorations. He also was a carpenter and built his own home in 1979 but what Ron especially enjoyed was spending quality time with his family and friends. Visitation was held Monday, April 30, 2018 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services were Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Pecan Acres Baptist Church with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.

Larrece “Reece” Labove

Larrece “Reece” Labove, 80, of Vidor passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont.Reece was born on June 18, 1937 in Cleveland, Texas to parents Ira Lee (Shirley) and Jesse Stedman Majors. She had lived in the Sabine Pass area for 25 years; also in Vidor. Reece worked as a Farmers Insurance Agent for 21 years and she was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Vidor. She enjoyed sewing and loved to cook and spending time with family.She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ernest Ray “Coonie” Labove; her sister, Ruby Lee Bienvenue.Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Donald Wayne Labove and his wife, Kimberly of Petal, MS; her daughter, Lori Labove of Vidor; her sister, Barbie Dee Nichols of Vidor.
