Clayton Ashworth

Funeral services for Clayton “Clay Boy” Paul Ashworth, 17, of DeRidder, will be held Friday, December 08, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in DeRidder, with Pastor Josh Eubanks and Rev. Dr. Ralph Beasley, Sr officiating. Burial will follow in Whitaker Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 7, 2017, from 5 P. M. until 8 P.M. in Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, and from 12 P.M. until time of the service, 2 P.M., Friday, December 8, 2017, in First Baptist Church of DeRidder. Clayton was born September 13, 2000, in Fort Campbell, KY, to Jason Paul and Wendy Carol Beasley Ashworth. He passed away on December 2, 2017, from injuries received in an automobile accident. “Clay” was an energetic and spirited young man who loved life and the outdoors. It was his caring and compassionate demeanor that drew people to love him.

Clarence James “CJ” Mayea

On December 9th, 2017 at 12:18 p.m. while surrounded by his loving wife and four daughters, CJ Mayea smiled one last time, then gently slipped into the arms of the angels. CJ was a 1957 graduate of Vidor High School, retired from the Pipe Fitters Local 195, and a long time resident of Buna, TX. Visitation was Monday, December 11, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment following at Restlawn Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife Dotty Mayea, daughters Diana McDaniel and her husband Lynn of Willis, TX, Christine Knight and her husband Kenney of Beaumont, TX, Jenell Williams and her husband James of Buna, TX and Sheri Kelly and her husband Rowdy also of Buna. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, brothers Ronnie Mayea and his wife Lynn of Vidor and Danny Mayea and his wife Linda also of Vidor.

Matthew Louis Zambardino

Matt Zambardino, 67 of Vidor earned his angel wings and went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 10th, 2017 at his residence. A native of Beaumont, Texas, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Matt was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor and was retired from Bethlehem Steel in Beaumont. he served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict. Matt”s favorite pass time was watching his Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed fishing. He was a gifted carpenter, enjoyed gardening and loved all animals especially his schnauzers. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A mass will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with cremation to follow. Matt was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Annette Zambardino, brother Mark Zambardino and 2 of his schnauzers Holly and Meagan.

Peggy Darlene Butler, 83, of Vidor, died Saturday, December 9, 2017, in Beaumont. A graveside service was held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.

Allen Joseph Robin

Allen Joseph Robin, 85, of Mauriceville died Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at his home.He was a native of Arnaudville, LA, he was a resident of Mauriceville for 30 years and an Operator with B.F. Goodrich retiring in 1994. He was a veteran of the US Army. Funeral service were held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. Burial followed at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. Surviving relatives include his wife, Kay Robin; daughter, Debbie Weller; sons, Phillip Robin, Leslie Robin, and Michael Robin all of Mauriceville; sisters, Gertie Bouillon of Groves; Mary Lena Cheek of Florida; Janice Ray of Orangefield; brother, Leonard Robin of Groves; 10 grand-children; and six great-grandchildren.

Robert Lester Smith

Robert Lester Smith, 69, of Mauriceville, TX died Tuesday, December 5th, 2017 at his home. He was a native of Houston, TX who enjoyed cooking, watching college football, and spending time with his family. Robert was known as being the life of the party and always had a story to tell. He is survived by his son; Shannon Smith and his wife Kim of Beaumont, TX, 2 grandsons; Zach and Max Smith, and lifelong partner; Vicki Smith. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; Lawrence McMellon and Jean Grace-Cox. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

Errett Dee Gipson Jr.

Dee Gipson, 80 of Vidor died Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, TX he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Dee was a member of First United Methodist Church in Vidor and retired from Dupont after 37 1/2 years as a Computer Draftsman. He was a member of the Wood Carvers Guild and enjoyed fishing. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in Vidor and a memorial service will begin at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the church. Dee is survived by his wife of 59 years Alice Gipson, daughters Leslye Conway of Houston, TX and Cindy Gipson of Beaumont, TX, son Eddie Gipson and wife Sherry of Evadale, TX, sister Geneva Shamrock of Cameron, TX, 5 grandchildren Shanna Spivey, Holly Preuss, Seth Gipson, Kristy Conway and Katy Bailey, 2 great grandsons Jase and Kelix.

Juanita Talcott

Juanita Talcott, 93, of Vidor, TX died Sunday, December 3rd, 2017 in China, TX. A native of Hulbert, OK she was a homemaker and was a resident of Vidor since 1939 who enjoyed working in her yard and garden, crocheting and knitting. Juanita was a seamstress and a member of Christ Community Church. She was also a former secretary of the African Violet Association. Visitation will be Thursday, December 7, 2017 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Friday, December 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Juanita is survived by 3 sons; Earl Talcott and his wife Janelle of Vidor, Frank Talcott and his wife Jo Ann of Vidor, and Donald Talcott and his wife Bea of Beaumont, 1 daughter; Linell Talcott Soileau and her husband Stanford of China, TX, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.

Jean Walker- Sanders

Jean Walker-Sanders, 83, of Silsbee died Sunday, December 3, 2017. She was a native of Taylorsville, MS. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. She is survived by her daughter, Karolyn Carpenter of Buna; sons, Alton Sanders of Orange Park, FL, and Jimmy Sanders of Silsbee. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law; Cindy Sanders of Vidor, eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
