James Thomas (JT) Simmons

James (JT or Tom) Thomas Simmons 76 of Vidor, Texas and St. Ignace, Michigan died after a long illness on November 16, 2018.

He is survived by his beloved wife Sharon and her children Jason Dupree and Robin Gilmore, his children, son James Simmons and daughter Christy Huntzberry, sisters Bonnie Simmons Butts and Brenda Simmons Knight, brother Sherman Simmons, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Barbara Ann Hopson Brockmann

January 16, 1942 - November 16, 2018

Barbara Brockmann, 76, of Fletcher, North Carolina passed away in her home on Friday, November 16, 2018. Barbara was a Henderson County Head Start teacher and an ESL teacher at Hendersonville H. S. and Blue Ridge Community College in North Carolina. Barbara was a native of Vidor, Texas. She sold photography at mountain craft fairs and at the Curb Market in Hendersonville North Carolina. Barbara loved long drives in the mountains and sitting by babbling streams. She loathed injustice, bigotry, and inequality and fought to right the wrongs of the world where she saw them. Most of all she loved being a mom.

She is survived by her sons, Damien and his partner, Lorrayne, of Austin, and Derek and his husband, Frank, of Greer, South Carolina; she is also survived by her little dog, Ozzie.

John Shepherd, Sr.

John Shepherd, Sr, 70, of Vidor, died Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont.

A native of Beaumont, he was a longtime resident of Vidor and worked as an automotive mechanic for many years.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Shepherd; daughters, Lisa Henderson of Philadelphia, PA, and Sabrina FerDon of Woodville; sons, James Shepherd of Oklahoma City, OK, Jody Shepherd of Vidor, and John Shepherd, Jr. of Draper, UT. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Glen Shepherd of Bridge City, and sister, Janet Walker of Vidor.

Bill Hymes

Bill Hymes, 90, of Orange, died Thursday, November 22, 2018 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

A native of Beaumont, he was a longtime resident of Orange and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a supervisor at Sabine River Works.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Hymes of Orange; sons, Robert Harley Hymes and Don Wilder Hale, both of Orange; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one greatgreat-grandson.

Mary E. Scaife

Mary E. Scaife, 66 of Vidor, died Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

A native of Beaumont, she was a longtime resident of Vidor.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

She is survived by her daughter, Nicole Watkins of Vidor; sons, Wesley Scaife and William Scaife, both of Vidor; four grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Pat Evans of Warren, and June Rossi of Lumberton; and brothers, Billy Best of Kirbyville, Edgar Best of Katy, and David Best of Vidor.

John Knight

John Henry Knight, Jr., 75, of Orange, died Tuesday, November 20, 2018, in Bridge City.

A native of Beaumont, he was a Vietnam War veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a retired Iron Worker for Local

125.

A memorial service was held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Cremation and a graveside service will be held at a later date.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Knight; children, John B. Knight of Galveston, Kris Knight of Bridge City, and Tina Landin of Vidor; three grandchildren; brother, Tommy Knight of Beaumont; and sister-in-law, Lori Saenz of Houston.

Bobbie Jean Walles, 74, of Vidor, died Friday, November 23, 2018.

A native of Beaumont, she was a longtime resident of Vidor.

Graveside services were held Monday, November 26, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Williamson Cemetery.

She is survived by her sister, Linda Nordstrom of Houston; and brotherin-law, Howard Greathouse, Sr. of Vidor.

Ginger Loftin

Ginger Loftin, 76, of Vidor, TX died Sunday, November 18th, 2018 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, TX. A native of Tampa, FL she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Some of the things she enjoyed doing was listening to music, loved dancing, going fishing and mowing her grass.

Visitation will be Friday, November 23, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with her funeral service at 12:00 p.m.

Ginger is survived by 3 daughters; Pam Loftin of Vidor, Cindy Anderson also of Vidor, and Bobbie Patin of Lumberton, TX, 1 grandson; Brad Anderson and 1 granddaughter; Kelby Loftin. Ginger was preceded in death by 1 son; Johnny Loftin and 1 grandson; Garrett Patin. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

Lewis Dean Oldbury

Dean Oldbury, 89 of Vidor died Thursday, November 15th, 2018 at his residence in Vidor. A native of Aline, OK, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Dean was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Vidor. He was a painter with International Union of Painters local #130. Dean enjoyed working in his shop, barbecuing and gardening.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services was held at 10:00 am Monday, November 19, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Vidor with burial following at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.
