Rose Mary Sterling- James

Rose Mary Sterling- James, 90, of Vidor, died Saturday, October 27, 2018 at her home. A native of Beaumont, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Visitation will be Thursday, November 1, 2018 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Friday, November 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. She is survived by her son, Oliver Sterling of Vidor; daughter, Mary Ann Flores also of Vidor; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three greatgreat- grandchilden.

Karl Stephenson Sr.

Karl Stephenson, Sr, 80, of Vidor, TX died Friday, October 26th, 2018 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont, TX. A native of Beaumont he was a longtime resident of Vidor and served his country in the U.S. Army. Karl was a member of the Knights of Columbus of Vidor and was the Business Manager of Sheet Metal Local 196. At one point he also served on the Rose City Council and on the Board of Directors for the Orange County Drainage District. Visitation was held Monday, October 29, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services were Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment following at Restlawn Memorial Park. Karl is survived by his loving wife of 43 years; Bonnie Stephenson, 1 daughter; Karrie Stephenson of Los Lunas, NM, 2 sons; Kyle Stephenson and his wife Jenny of Humble, TX, and Kory Stephenson and his wife Tara of Vidor, 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Linda G. Myers

Linda G. Myers, 68 of Vidor died Monday, October 22nd, 2018 at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Linda was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and was owner/operator of Myers Inspection in Vidor. She loved going to Branson, MO, and spending time with family and g r a n d c h i l d r e n , she also enjoyed crocheting. She also had a love for lighthouses and making floral arrangements. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Friday, October 26, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Linda was preceded in death by her husband Chris James Myers, her father Bill Dial, 3 nephews Jonathan “Jon-Jon” Myrick, Bradley Dial and Craig Myers.

Lillie Owers Prewitt

Lillie Owers Prewitt, 91, of Beaumont, passed away at her home on October 28, 2018 with her loving family by her side. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Bill Barnett; children, Opal and Don Aden of Hornbeck, LA, Bobby and Janice Prewitt of Vidor; Step children, Peggy, Ricky and Diane and Laurie; 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Judith Shackleford; sons, Richard (Rooter) Prewitt and his twin, and 4 grandchildren. She will join her loved ones at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hornbeck, LA.

Joanna “JoJo” Smith Adams, 51, of Vidor, died Monday, October 22, 2018. She was a native Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland with interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. Survivors include her husband, Harold R. Adams of Vidor; daughter, Emily Leger of Manvel; son, Christopher A.  Surber of Vidor; step-daughters, Erran Adams and Savannah Adams, both of Vidor; two grandsons; parents, Ray and Georgia Feemster of Nederland; mother and father-inlaw, Paul and Rhonda Adams of Vidor; brothers, Richard lee Smith, Jr of Shreveport, LA, James Robert Smith of San Antonio, Gregory Feemster of Nederland, Darryl Feemster of Port Neches, and Rodney Shoemaker of Port Neches; sister, Angela Richard of Mauriceville; and sister-in-law, Heather Adams of Vidor.

Voorhees D. “Buddy” Bridges Jr.

Voorhees D. “Buddy” Bridges Jr. 76, of Vidor, TX died Monday, October 22nd, 2018 at his home. A native of Tyler, TX he was a longtime resident of Vidor and a member of Eastgate United Pentecostal Church. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and loved working on projects with his hands. Buddy was known to be very organized, especially his garage. Also, he loved to spoil his dog Stella. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Eastgate United Pentecostal Church. Buddy is survived by his loving wife of 22 years; LaGail Bridges, 2 sons; Mike S. Bridges of Beaumont, TX and Tim J. Bridges of Lake Charles, LA, 2 daughters; Kim Smith and her husband Robert of Beaumont, and Donna Hager and her husband Kevin of Orangefield, TX, 7 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.

Vera Young

Vera Jack Young, 84, of Evadale died Sunday, October 21, 2018. She was a native and lifelong resident of the Evadale area. She retired from Evadale ISD. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Farmer Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Morse Cemetery. Survivors include her sons, Rickey Burnett of Evadale and Bobby Thompson of Silsbee; two grandchldren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

Henry “Dusty” Lloyd Falgout

Dusty Falgout, 80 of Vidor died Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, he was a longtime resident of Vidor and retired from Orange County after 30+ years. He was a veteran of the US Army and was also spent a member of the Vidor Volunteer Fire Department for a ahort time. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. He is survived by his daughters, Lena Anderson and Florence Simon, and son, Michael Falgout, all of Altha, FL; sister, Carolyn Yellott of Waskom; right grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
