Uina “Mama” Shafer

Uina Shafer, 85of Vidor died Friday, July 17th, 2020 at her residence. A native of Lake Charles, LA, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Uina wa a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor and was retired. She enjoyed doing craft’s and gardening. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor. Uina was preceded in death by her husband Arthur I. Shafer Jr., and son Shane Shafer Sr. She is survived by her daughters Linda Savoie and her husband Glen, Dawn Fischer, and Cindy Shafer all of Vidor, TX, brother Cliffton Peloquin of Garden Groves, CA, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.

Brandon Graham

Brandon J. Graham, 33 of Vidor died Friday, July 3rd, 2020 in Galveston, Texas. A native of Beaumont, TX, he was a lifelong resident of Vidor. Brandon was a pipefitter and fabricator. He enjoyed fishing and four wheeling in the woods. Brandon was an outdoorsman, a real country boy. Visitation was 6:00 pm Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm Friday, July 10, 2020 at Memorial Funeral Home followed by burial at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. He is survived by his son Luke A. Graham of Vidor, TX and daughter Annabella M. Graham of Beaumont, TX, parents Martin and Carolyn Graham, brother Wesley Graham and grandmother Anna S. Graham.

George L. Cain, 72 of Vidor died Monday, July 6th, 2020 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Ft. Worth, TX, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. George was better known as Paw to his grandchildren. He was a rail car repairer for Trinity, Ind in Vidor. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Visitation was 6:00 pm Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Memorial Funeral Home followed by cremation. George is survived by his wife of 30 years Fran Cain of Vidor, TX, sons Robert Garcia of Buna, TX, Zeke Hampton of Vidor, TX and Chase Cain of Vidor, TX, daughters Wendie Bailey of Trophy Club, TX, Beth Serrano of Haslet, TX, and 12 grandchildren.

Jean M. Constance, 85 of Vidor died Monday, July 13th, 2020 at her residence. A native of Hathaway, LA, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Jean was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor. She enjoyed gardening and going to the casino's. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A funeral liturgy outside mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Jean is survived by her husband of 67 years Norris Constance, sons Ricky Constance, Roger Constance, and Tangi Constance all of Vidor, TX, sister Ella Rougeau Vinton, LA, brother Sammy Crochet of Hot Spring, AR, 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren.

Robert E. Adams Sr, 78 of Vidor died Tuesday, July 7th, 2020 at his residence. He is a native and lifelong resident of Vidor. Robert was a member of Eastgate United Pentecostal Church in Vidor and was a Heavy Equipment Operator with local # 450. He enjoyed collecting coins, playing and singing music, but he especially loved family gatherings. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm and the funeral services will start at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Eastgate United Pentecostal Church with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Robert is survived by his wife of 61 years Vickie Adams of Vidor, TX, daughters Libby White and her husband Rodney of Vidor, TX, Tina Irby and her husband Danny of Denham Springs, LA, son Robert “Bobby” Edward Adams Jr. and his wife Leslie of Vidor, TX, brothers Henry Adams of Lumberton, TX and Charles Adams of Vidor, TX, 8 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Nate McCarver, 38 of Orange died Friday, July 10th, 2020 in Port Arthur, Texas. A native of Port Arthur, TX, he was a lifelong resident of Orange. Nate was a mechanic for Bechtel for 3 years. He was a big guy with an even bigger heart who loved riding his Harley and spending time with his family and friends.. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Friday, July 17, 2020 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at The Cemetery in Mauriceville. Nate is survived by his wife of 21 years Dawn McCarver of Orange, TX, sons Christian Theriot and wife Mirna, Nathan Keith McCarver Jr. and wife Hailey, daughter Virginia Clanton and husband Rayden all of Vidor, TX, mother Nina McCarver of Orange, TX, brother Charles McCarver Jr., Tim Mccaver and John LeBouef all of Orange, TX, 5 grandchildren Carson, Braxton, Jace, Jaxson and Adaya, numerous nieces and nephews.

Patricia Peterson

Patricia Eileen Arnold Peterson, a lifelong Vidor native, was born January 11, 1943 in Beaumont, Texas. From that day on, she didn’t meet a stranger whom she didn’t include in her circle of friends. She was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, great-grandmother, great-aunt, and so much more in her family. Patricia was an involved community member from a young age. Between her civic activities and working at her father’s auto parts house, she came to know and love all the residents of Vidor. She later influenced the lives of students, parents, and coworkers alike through her decades of teaching elementary school. Though she experienced much pain and loss, she always loved others and gave of herself and her resources. Patricia died on July 12, 2020 at 12:30pm, at Harbor Hospice Center in Beaumont, TX. She was 77 years old, surrounded by close family.

Eddie Wayne Fountain, 67 of Vidor died Monday, July 6th, 2020 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, TX. A native of DeQuincy, LA, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Eddie Wayne was a Heavy Equipment Operator with local #450. He enjoyed watching the Houston Astros and fulfilled a lifelong dream by attending the college world series, twice. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Eddie Wayne is survived by his wife of 49 years Anita Fountain of Vidor, Texas, daughter Kristie Montegut and her husband Jason of Clear Lake Shores, TX, sons Daniel Fountain and his wife Brandy of Pineland, TX, Darren Fountain and his wife Jessica of Mauriceville, TX, 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Little Man Salas, 51 of Vidor died Friday, July 10, 2020 at UTMB Hospital in Galveston. A native of San Antonio, Texas, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Little Man attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor and was an Auto Painter for Fasulo’s Paint and Body for 10 years. He was a fan of NASCAR and wrestling . Little Man enjoyed doing yard work and being with family and friends. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Friday, July 17, 2020 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A funeral liturgy outside mass will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.

Gregory Nicholas Dyer

Gregory Nicholas Dyer passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 in Park County, Colorado. He was 54 years old.

Greg was born on 4/7/1966 in Aspen, CO to John Christopher Dyer and Sally Dyer. He spent most of his early childhood enjoying the beautiful scenery surrounding Aspen. The family moved to San Diego, California for a few years where they were first exposed to the joys of boating and had many happy memories living on a sailboat and making trips to Catalina Island. The family eventually settled in Medford, Oregon. He graduated from St. Mary’s Highschool in Medford, Oregon. After graduating from Highschool, Greg faithfully served 2 years as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
