Howard LeRoy Greathouse Sr.

Howard LeRoy Greathouse Sr., 84 of Vidor, TX passed away at his home on November 2, 2019. Howard was a veteran of the US Navy and US Marine Corps, having served in the Korean War. He was a member of the IUOE Local 450 for 45 years. He lived an active life enjoying family gatherings, poker night, casino trips, cruises, and working in his shop. Howard will celebrate his 59th wedding anniversary in Heaven with his beloved wife, Barbara.

Daniel “Dan” Richard Sr.

Daniel “Dan” Richard Sr.

Dan Richard, 84 of Rayne, LA died Tuesday, October 29th, 2019 at the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings, LA. A native of Morse, LA, he was a longtime resident of Vidor and Lumberton, Before moving to Rayne, LA. Dan retired as manager of Rogers Brothers Optical and was a die hard Dallas Cowboy fan. He played in fast pitch softball and was a left handed pitcher. Dan served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. His friend say he was a nurturing kind man.

Visitation was at 6:00 pm Friday, November 1, 2019 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Graveside service was held at 10:00 am Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Del-Rose Cemetery in Vidor.

Dan was preceded in death by his daughter Kristy Richard. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Norma Richard of Rayne, LA, daughter Sandy Jensen and her husband Dennis of Leakey, TX, son Daniel Richard Jr. and his wife Gracie of Los Cruces, NM, and 2 grandchildren Austin and Caleb Richard.

Linda Renae Peveto Patterson

Renae Peveto Patterson, 70 of Mauriceville died Wednesday, October 30th, 2019 at her residence. A native of Beaumont, TX, she was a longtime resident of Mauriceville, TX. Renae was a retired hairdresser and enjoyed working in her yard and gardening. Cremation arrangements where entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 pm Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Memorial Funeral Home. Renae was preceded in death by her parents CV Pete and Joyce Peveto, son Wayne Patterson. She is survived by her sons Jeff Rash and his wife Johna of Mauriceville, TX, Darrel Patterson of Trinity, AL, daughters Salynda LeBoeuf and her husband Ralph Ochoa Jr. of Mauriceville, TX, Angelia Bryant of Town Creek, AL, brother James W. Peveto and his wife Ray of Beaumont, TX, 11 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

James Patrick Theriot

James Patrick Theriot, 82, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away October 23, 2019.

He was born March 30, 1937 in Troup, Texas to Wilbert Anthony Theriot Sr. and Jane Elizabeth Henderson Theriot. He was third born of 10 children.

Pat graduated from Gaston High School in 1955 and received a BA in Education from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1960. He began his teaching and coaching career in Winnsboro, Texas in 1961 and retired from Vidor High School in 1992. During that time. he was an English teacher, football and track coach, and driver’s education teacher. His greatest love was coaching track and field. One of the highlights of his career was directing the Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas. He was also honored with an Outstanding Educator Award for Special Needs Children from Vidor I.S.D.

Pat attended St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus for many years.

Felicity Rose Broyles

Felicity Rose Broyles, 5 month old daughter of Tyler Broyles and Cheyann Scott died Tuesday, October 22nd, 2019 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Visitation was Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with funeral services at 12:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Interment followed at Restlawn Memorial Park.

Felicity is survived by her parents; Tyler Broyles and Cheyann Scott of Vidor, 2 brothers; Corbin Broyles and Levi Broyles, grandparents; Christina Scott, Tina Keith and her husband Mark Martin, and Jeff Broyles and his wife Michelle, great grandparents; Wendy Davis, Cary Scott, and Sandra Segrest and her husband Richard, greatgreat grandmother; Sharlett Scott along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Wanda Porter, 82, of Vidor, TX died Wednesday, October 23rd, 2019 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. A native of Indian Bayou, LA she was a longtime resident of Vidor and was the Salutatorian of Vidor High School class of 1954. Wanda enjoyed painting, square dancing, and traveling but she was a passionate Corgi Mama. Graveside services were held Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Restlawn Memorial Park. She is survived by 1 son; Michael Harris of Wills Point, TX, 1 daughter; Tina Murphy of Beaumont, 1 sister; Janet Spell Gaut of Mandeville, LA and 1 niece; Darby Reiter and her husband David of Covington, LA. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband; Fred Porter.

Carolyn Marie Hampton,57, of Vidor, TX died Thursday, October 24th, 2019 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Galveston she was a longtime resident of Vidor who loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her boyfriend; Steve Hermsen, 1 sister; Deborah Coffie and her husband Joseph, 2 brothers; Bubba Whatley and Gary Whatley all of Vidor. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband; James Hampton, parents; Louis and Jeanette Whatley, 1 sister; Vickie Whatley and her beloved pet; Rusty. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

Gerald Robert Bilbo

Gerald R. Bilbo, 84 of Vidor died Saturday, October 19th, 2019 at Heartfelt Embrace Assisted Living in Orange, TX. A native of Beaumont, TX, he was a lifelong resident of Vidor. Gerald was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and served as a Deacon. He had retired from Iron Workers Local Union #125. Gerald enjoyed hunting and spending time watching his grandsons play sports. He was an avid farmer and gardener, and loved raising all kinds of animals.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor.

Peggy S. Fruge, 65 of Vidor died Tuesday, October 15th, 2019 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, TX. A native of Oklahoma, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Peggy was a nurses aide for 20 + years and enjoyed watching TV. Visitation was held at 6:00 pm Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm Friday, October 18, 2019 at Memorial Funeral Home followed by burial at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Peggy is survived by her daughter Tonya Gilland and son Darren Gilland both of Vidor, TX, brothers Gerald Thrasher of LA, Jackie Thrasher of Kirbyville, TX and Jerry Thrasher of Chickasha, OK, sister Pamela Stone of Hillister, TX and 2 grandchildren.

ALBERT LEE MORGAN

Albert L. Morgan, 83 of Vidor died Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Vidor Health and Rehab. A native of Crowley, LA, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Albert was a truck driver and enjoyed fishing. He also enjoyed skating and peddling around. Visitation was held from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor and a graveside service was held at 1:00 pm Monday, October 21, 2019 at Cook Memorial Cemetery in Liberty, TX. Albert is survived by his sons Dalbert Lee Morgan of Jasper, TX and David Tracy Morgan of New York, daughters Cherlinda Faye Moffett and Teresa Jane Morgan both of Vidor, TX, brother Thomas Emmitt Morgan of Buna, TX, 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
