Hildegard “Hilda” M aria Davis

Hilda Davis, 91, of Vidor died Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor. She was a native of Germany and longtime resident of Vidor. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home. She is survived by her two grandchildren, one great-grandson and four great-great-grandchildren.

Barbara Ann Harper

Barbara Ann Harper, 83, of Evadale died Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Heartis Cypress Senior Living, in Cypress. She was a native of Abbeyville, LA, and was employed by Sun Oil Company before becoming a homemaker. She served on the Evadale ISD School Board and was Board Member of the Jasper County appraisal district. A graveside service was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 6, 2018, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, Beaumont. Survivors include her daughter, Amy Jellison of Killeen; son, Sid Harper of Cypress; and three grandchildren.

JoNell Vaughan

JoNell Vaughn, 84, of Silsbee died Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at her son’s house in Newton County. She a native of Choctaw County, OK, and retired from Lamar University where she taught Co sme t o l o g y . S h e also taught at several of the local Cosmetology Schools around the Beaumont area. A service was held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Broussard’s, Silsbee. Her interment followed at R.S. Farmer Memorial Park, Silsbee. Survivors include her husband, Austin Vaughan; children, Donovan Keith Maloy, Jr. of Mauriceville; Terryl Lynn Maloy of Silsbee; Kathleen Maloy Stutzof Mauriceville; step-children, Curt Vaughan; Tim Vaughan; and Sharon Tremper of Kerrville; sister, Mary Dee Amend of Soper, OK; brother, Jarvis Smith of Caddo, OK; 20 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Robert Braneff

Robert Braneff, age 78, of DeQuincy, LA, died Thursday, August 2, 2018 at his home. A native of Vidor, he was a veteran of the US Navy and was employed for 30 years as a longshoreman before retirement. Th e f ami l y wi l l receive friends on Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M. with the funeral service to begin The funeral will be held at Westgate, DeQuincy, LA, at 6:00 p.m. Interment followed at Clark Cemetery, Starks, LA. He is survived by his wife, Frances Lavera Braneff; children, Kaye Stewart of DeQuincy, LA, and Reginald Braneff of Orange; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Henderson Braneff and Estil Braneff, both of Vidor; sisters, Maggie Bloomfield of Evadale, and Jean Gould of Vidor

Dora “Lynn” Johnson

Dora “Lynn” Johnson, 60 of Newton, Texas, passed away July 26th at her residence. She was born in Beaumont, Texas to the late Lloyd and Norma Hyatt. Lynn loved her many animals. Her beloved pet “Mimi” died with her. Cremation arrangements are pending. There will be a celebration of her life, August 11, 2018, Saturday, from 11-1 at Central Baptist Church, 1100 Old Hwy 90 E, Vidor, Texas. Lynn was preceded in death by her mother, Norma Kole of Vidor, Lloyd Hyatt of Corpus Christi, TX and her grandmother Freida Choate of Vidor. Lynn is survived by her sons Willie Linder of Port Neches, Greg Dobslaw of Montana and a daughter Angie Karas of Wisconsin and by her sister Cathy Humberson and brother Bobby Hyatt and her loving friend Mike Linder. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews and many friends. God bless Lynn and all her family.

Billy Joe Peno Sr.

Billy J. Peno, 82, of Vidor died Friday, July 27th, 2018 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Billy was a native and lifelong resident of Vidor. He was a deacon of First Baptist Church in Vidor and was a lifelong machinist. Billy enjoyed hunting and watching his sons and grandchildren play baseball and softball. Visitation began at 6:00 pm Monday, July 30, 2018 at First Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 10:00 am Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at First Baptist Church with burial following at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Billy is survived by his wife of 61 years Patsy Joyce Peno of Vidor, TX, sons Joey Peno and his wife Cheryl of Livingston, TX, Danny Peno of Vidor, TX, Robbie Peno and his wife Becky of Houston, TX, 4 grandchildren Cathryn Dall, Matt Peno, Justin Smith and Jordan Peno.

Douglas “Doug” Boyed Wood

Doug Wood, 57 of Vidor, died Wednesday, July 25th, 2018 at his residence. A native of Beaumont he was a lifelong resident of Vidor. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with burial to follow at Del-Rose Cemetery in Vidor. Doug is survived by his sisters Wanda King, Karen Werner and Linda Free all of Vidor, TX, brother Richard Wood of Kountze, TX.

Annie Frances Engelberg

Annie Frances Engelberg was called home to the Lord on July 31, 2018, at the age of 83. She was a longtime resident of Vidor and is preceded in death by her husband, Sanford Engelberg, Sr. Annie Frances is loved and will be missed by her children Sanford, Jr., Elizabeth Cramer and husband Christopher, Kathryn; sister Joyce Robinson and husband James (Sparky); grandchildren, niece, nephews and friends. Visitation will begin at 9 am followed by the service at 10 am Monday August 6, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church Vidor.

Leora Mae Bradford, 65, of Vidor, died Tuesday, July 31, 2018. A native of Pt. Arthur, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. She is survived by her husband, James Bradford of Vidor; son, William “Bill” Blanton Rowley of Vidor; granddaughter, Lexi Rowley of Bryan; and brothers, James Ray McDonald and Randy Lee McDonald of Vidor.

Ruth Hebert

Ruth Hebert, 83, died Monday, July 23, 2018 in Cedar Park. She was a native of Mauriceville, and lived most of her adult life in Beaumont. She had a long career in Accounting. She is survived by her brother, Aubrey Stewart of Tennessee; daughter, Sheryl Coble of Cedar Park; stepdaughters, Lauren Edgars of Groves, and Karen Bynum of Nederland; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
