Curtis Ray Pollard

Curtis Ray Pollard, 61, of Beaumont, died Sunday, June 10, 2018. He was a native of Lake Charles, LA, and was the founder and owner of A Line Front End and Brake in Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 15, 2018, at Broussard’s, Beaumont. His funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Sabine Tabernacle, Beaumont. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont. Survivors include his wife, Darla Pollard; daughter, Shannon Pollard Metz of Lumberton; brother, Robert Franklin Pollard of Robertsdale, AL; sisters, Ethel Prater of Vidor, Linda Walker of Spring, and Brinda Hendrix of Sour Lake; two grandchildren; and special mother-in-law, Elsie Kennett-Phillips.

Angela Renee Pace

Angela “Angie” R. Pace, 43, of Brookland, died Saturday, June 7, 2018 at her residence. A native of Beaumont, she was a longtime resident of Brookland. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. She is survived by her son, Keith Miller of Brookland; mother, Margaret Roland of Brookland; and father, Shelton Pace of Colorado.

Rodney William JOHNSON

Rodney William JOHNSON, age 66, passed on June 5, 2018, Beaumont, TX. He was born Bobby Ray HILLIS, Jan 21, 1952 in Sweetwater, TX to Alvin Burton & Frieda D.M. (FRIEBEL) HILLIS, one of 14 children. He was adopted 1953, by William Olan & Iva Ora (PUCKETT) JOHNSON. He married Barbara Ann FERRELL 1973, divorced 2014, with one daughter, Andrea Rae (JOHNSON) MOSS, who preceded him in death Jan 2016. Also preceding him in death, are both sets of parents, and 2 brothers: Henry Lee HILLIS, Alvin Wade HILLIS; grandparents Friedrich Otto FRIEBEL, Wilhelmine “Minnie” (NEUMANN) FRIEBEL, Cullom Lyhugh HILLIS, and Gertrude Louisa (WARD) LOUIS. Survivors include 2 grandchildren, Rebekka Marie & Alexzander Wm Gus MOSS of Cullowhee, NC. 4 brothers: Johney W. HILLIS, Cullum O. HILLIS, Joe R. HILLIS Sr., and Bennie E. HILLIS.

Rodney William JOHNSON

Sean Lamar McKinley

Sean Lamar McKinley, 51, of Vidor, TX died Thursday, June 7th, 2018 at Harbor House Hospice in Beaumont, TX. A native of Houston, TX he was a longtime resident of Vidor and worked in the telecommunications field as a Field Tech Operator for over 20 years. Sean liked reading, watching T.V. and enjoyed all sports but he especially loved to spend time with his family. A memorial service was held Monday, June 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with cremation following. Sean is survived by 2 daughters; Kelli McKinley of Houston and Meagan McKinley of Vidor, 1 son; Shane McKinley of Vidor, and 1 grandson; Carson Hataway. He is also survived by his father; Ben McKinley, 1 sister; Rhonda Turner, 1 aunt; Eileen Henderson and 2 cousins; Sonia Smith and Joe Henderson. Sean was preceded in death by his mother; Jane Henderson and grandmother; Ella Henderson. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

Leroy Bruce

Leroy Bruce, 73, of Vidor, died Sunday June 3, 2018. He was a native of Beaumont, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. He was a veteran of the US Navy. At the time of his death, he was employed with Lamar University. His funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Broussard’s, Beaumont, with interment following at Restlawn Cemetery in Vidor. Survivors include his wife, Catherine Reynolds Bruce of Vidor; daughter, LeRae Bruce Karn of Rapid City; sons, Jay Lee Bruce of Vidor and Richard “Rip” Bruce of Vidor; and six grandchildren. He also had one greatgrandchild.

Dorothy M, Petty

Sister Dorothy M, Petty, 95, of San Antonio, was born July 18, 1922 in Beaumont, Texas and went to be with her Lord on June 3, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. A service of worship honoring her life and ministry will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. in the Vidor Assembly of God Church, in Vidor, Texas. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 5-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Sister Dorothy was a former resident of Vidor and spent her life in ministry with her husband, Reverend William Petty, preaching the Gospel of Christ and building churches throughout the area, including the Vidor Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend William Petty; and parents, Christopher and Tessie (Ballamy) Maida; sisters, Mary Aylor, Joyce McCoy, Shirley Wingate; and brother, Chris Maida. She is survived by one son, William A.

Betty Jo “BJ” Kelley

Betty Jo Kelley, 49 of Vidor died Friday, June 1, 2018 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of west Monroe, LA, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A memorial service will take place at a later date. She is survived by her husband, Edward Kelley of Vidor; daughters, Rhonda Johnson of Vidor, Emma Suffle of Blythe, CA, and Ashley Simmons of Vidor; sons, Justin Kelley of Madison, WI, Edward Kelley Jr. of Vidor, and Dennis Kelley of Vidor; sister, Joyce Lynch of Vidor; brother, John Lynch of Fred; and 20 grandchildren.

Allen “Del” Scott

Allen “Del” Scott, 58, of Nederland, Texas passed away Friday, May 11, 2018 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. Del was born February 18, 1960 in Beaumont, Texas to Clarence Eugene Scott and Elvira Jane Cox Scott. He was a lifelong area resident and a FAA Safety Inspector with 10 years of service. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches with Reverend Glen Longnion and Deacon Stephen Sellers officiating. Surviving relatives include his wife, Phlissa Scott of Nederland, Texas; daughter, Jessica Quinn of Kemah, Texas; son, James Quinn II of Webster, Texas; sisters, Kristi Easterling and husband James of Buna, Texas, Nancy Sellers and husband Stephen of Vidor, Texas.

Robert William “Bill” Davis

Bill Davis, 71 of Vidor died Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Douglas, GA, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Bill was a member of First Baptist Church in Vidor, TX. He was a self employed owner/ operator of Genco Ind. in Bridge City, TX for 15 years. Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and gardening, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandkids, great grandkids and the whole family. Visitation began at 5:00 pm Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm Monday, June 4, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Vidor with burial following at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.
