Bobby Joe Williams

Bobby J. Williams, 83 of Vidor died Sunday, February 10th, 2019 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. A native of Stockman, TX, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Bobby was a member of First United Methodist Church in Vidor and retired from Occidental Petroleum and a department supervisor. He enjoyed gardening, horses, fishing, camping and attending blue grass festivals, but most of all he enjoyed mowing the grass and tinkering around with tractors. He served his country in the US Army and was stationed in Boston, MA.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, February 15, 2019 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.

Bobby was preceded in death by his wife Bobbie Jane Williams.

William Doyle Mahan

Doyle Mahan, 63 of Vidor died Thursday, February 7th, 2019 at his residence. A native of Beaumont, TX, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Doyle worked for AET Services in Galveston, TX for a while and was a carpenter. He enjoyed fishing and carpentry, but his true passion was reading. Doyle served his country in the US Army.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A gathering for family and friends will be held at Benoit Louis Hall 3085 Hwy 12 in Vidor from 2:00 - 5:00 pm Sunday, February 17, 2019.

Doyle is survived by his brothers Tony Mahan and his wife Beverly, Danny Mahan and his wife Julie, and sister Denise Mahan all of Vidor, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents Burt and Eton Mahan and brother John Michael Mahan.

Joyce L. Geer

Joyce L. Geer was born June 2, 1930 to Josephine Crocker and Johnie Willis Crocker in Bronson, Texas. She went on to her Heavenly Glory on Sunday, February 10, 2019. She was raised by Karoular Virginia Droddy Huggins, her grandmother, Marthy Ann Morgan and Everitte Edward Morgan, her aunt and uncle.

She married Joseph Jesse Geer on June 21, 1957 and together they raised Joseph Jesse Geer, Jr., Frances Elaine Geer, Eva Darlene Geer, Ceceilia Renee Geer Leasure and Robert Edward Geer.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, grandmother, aunt, uncle, cousins LaPrell Morgan, Pricie Robinson, sons Jesse Jr. and Robert.

Joyce loved raising her family and participating in school activities. She spent many years acting as room mother and chaperoning band trips. After her children were out of school, she enjoyed volunteering with special needs children at the Vidor Elementary School.

KIMBERLY LYNN WEEKS

Kimberly Lynn Weeks, 48, of Kirbyville, died February 6, 2019 at her home.

Memorial services will be held Monday, February 18, at Pine Forest Baptist Church in Vidor, TX.

Born May 17, 1970 in Austin to Lorraine Augusta Gage and Robert Duane Weeks, she previously lived in Vidor and had spent the last 17 years in Kirbyville.

She is survived by two sons, Austin Deshotel and Trevor Deshotel; sisters Audra Cox, Shauna Oller and Bobby, Lana Weeks-Stockwell; and one grandchild. She is proceeded in death by her parents Lorraine and Robert; brother, Robert Dayne Norcross.

Jim A. Bollich

Jim A. Bollich, 75 , of Vidor died Tuesday, February 5th, 2019 at his residence. A native of Nome, TX, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Jim was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor and was owner/operator of State Farm Insurance Agency in Vidor for many years. He was a past President of the Vidor Rotary Club and the Vidor Chamber of Commerce. Jim enjoyed hunting, woodworking and served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam conflict in the 101st Airborne. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 pm Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, February 8, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with entombment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.

Margaret Astor

Margaret Astor, 75, of Vidor, TX died Tuesday, January 29, 2019 in Beaumont, TX. A native of Pascagoula, MS she was a Registered Nurse and retired from Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital before becoming a traveling nurse for 10 years. Margaret enjoyed tending to her house plants, going to casinos and watching crime TV and western movies but she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Visitation was held Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

Margaret is survived by 1 daughter; Susan and her husband John Wesley Brown of Vidor and 1 son; George Thomas Astor and his fiancee’ Aimee Landry also of Vidor, 3 grandchildren; Melissa Brown, Alexis Smith and her husband Nate, and Zane Brown and his wife Veronnica. She is also survived by 2 great grandchildren; Scarlette Rainwater and Evan Brown, 2 sisters; Sandra Owens and Christyna Bright along with numerous cousins.

Betty Jane Smith

Betty Jane Smith, 71, of Vidor, TX died Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at her home. A native of Beaumont, TX she was a longtime resident of Vidor and a 1965 graduate of Vidor High School and attended class luncheons. Betty enjoyed watching her sons play sports when they were young. She also enjoyed cooking, watching western movies and having her nails and hair done at Cambios weekly and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, February 1, 2019 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Vidor. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with entombment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.

Shirley Schreck

Shirley Schreck, 79, of Vidor, TX died Tuesday, January 29th, 2019 in Vidor.

A native of Lufkin, TX she was a longtime resident of Vidor who enjoyed sewing, working with flowers, gardening and coloring in coloring books. She also enjoyed cooking, especially during the holidays and spending quality time with family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, February 1, 2019 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. and any friends that want to join the family for the Rosary are welcome to attend. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.

Shirley is survived by 2 daughters; Debbie Brown of Vidor and Angela Jordan and her husband Bret also of Vidor, 1 son; T. Joe Schreck and his wife Teresa of Woodville, TX, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Glynda Moore

Glynda Moore, 80, of San Angelo, TX died Friday, February 1st, 2019. A native of Jacksonville, TX she was a longtime resident of the Golden Triangle area before moving to San Angelo eight years ago. She loved music and playing the piano but she especially enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends.

Visitation was held Monday, February 4, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at Pecan Acres Baptist Church. Funeral service was Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Pecan Acres Baptist Church with interment following at Del Rose Cemetery.

Glynda is survived by 1 daughter; Kathy Allen and her husband Gerald of San Angelo, 1 son; Steve Moore and his wife Sonja of Vidor, 6 grandchildren; Joseph Broughton and his wife Sheri, Christina Travis and her husband Josh, Matthew Moore and his wife Brianna, Brandon Allen, Brett Allen and Benjamin Allen and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; Roy and Juanita Wallace and 1 brother; Jimmy Wallace.

BEN L. JONES

Ben L. Jones, 80 of Kirbyville, TX died Sunday, February 3rd, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Burkeville, TX, he was raised and graduated from Newton. He was a longtime resident of Vidor before moving to Kirbyville 6 years ago. Ben was an active member at his church Victory Assembly of God in Kirbyville. He retired from Sunbeam Bread as a route driver. Ben enjoyed singing, crossword puzzles, word search and fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was very proud of his family. He was a past member of Pecan Grove Community Resident Advisory Committee.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Friday, February 8, at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, February 9, at Memorial Funeral Home.
