Alice Walker

Alice Walker, 64, of Vidor, TX died Thursday, May 24th, 2018 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home. A native of Baytown, TX and formerly of Pasadena, TX she was a longtime resident of Vidor who loved to spend time with her family and friends. Alice is survived by 3 sisters; Valerie Tullis and her husband James of Dickerson, TX, Toni Bolieu of Angleton, TX and Ellen O’Neal of Mauriceville, TX, 2 brothers; Harold Bolieu and his wife Irma of Arizona and James Bolieu along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her husband; L.B. Walker, parents; Harold and Dora Bolieu, brother; George W. Bolieu and step-daughter; Norma Jean Hood. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

Kennedy Paige Daniels

Kennedy Paige Daniels, infant daughter of Heather Welch and Thomas Reid Daniels, of Vidor, died Monday, May 21, 2018, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 25, 2018, at Broussard’s, Beaumont. Her interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont. Other than her parents, she is survived by her twin sister, Kiera Daniels; brother, Liam Daniels; sister, Blakely Daniels; grandparents, Greg and Shanon Welch, of Beaumont and Ruben and Becky Daniels, of Nederland; great-grandparents, Edward and Ginny Welch, of Beaumont; Betty Burkett Dyson, of Lake Charles, LA; Robert Peacock, of Beaumont; and Lupe Daniels, of Vidor.

Ada Rose Gall

Ada Rose Gall, 89, of Vidor, TX died Sunday, May 20th, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Cason, TX. A native of Pt. Arthur, TX she was a longtime resident of Vidor and a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church. She taught GA’s and Sunday school. Ada loved sewing, gardening, working in her yard. She also liked to go camping. Ada was very devoted to her husband and a loving caregiver to him as well. Visitation will be Saturday, May 26, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Pine Forest Baptist Church with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m.. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Ada is survived by her 2 daughters; Pamela Halbrook of Vidor and Peggy Darby and her husband Scott of Cason, TX, 4 grandchildren; Toni Gonzales, Jason Halbrook, Stacey Hatten, and Matthew Darby, 9 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Ada was preceded in death by her husband; John N. Gall, son; Billy J. Gall, grandson; Daniel W. Darby, 6 brothers and 4 sisters.

Joey Singleton

Joey Singleton, 76, of Vidor, TX died Wednesday, May 23rd, 2018 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont, TX. A native of Vidor Joey was a Deacon at Vidor Church of Christ for many years. He owned cattle and loved ranching but he especially loved to spend quality time with his family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, May 26, 2018 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Sunday, May 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Singleton Cemetery. Joey is survived by his loving wife Marilyn Singleton of 55 years, son; Tim Singleton and his wife Joann of Vidor, 2 grandchildren; Levi Singleton and Emileigh Singleton, and 1 sister; Judith Wilkins of Lumberton, TX. Joey was preceded in death by his parents; Joseph Leon, Sr. and Elnora Singleton.

Royce A. Morton, 66 of Bridge City died Saturday, May 19, 2018 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. A native of Orange, he was a longtime resident of Bridge City and a member of Pipe Fitters Local Union 195. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Friday, May 25, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. He is survived by his wife Becky Morton of League City; daughter, Kimberly Morton of Jasper; sons Craig Morton aof Westlake, LA, and Jeremy Morton of Friendswood; brother, Robert Vargo of Bridge City; and four grandchildren. Randy Bob Romero, 49, of Bridge City, died Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Burial followed at Head of the Hollow in Johnsons Bayou, LA. A native of Orange, he was self-employed and a veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by his father, Allen Romero and wife Dean, of Bridge City; sons, Garrett Romero of Beaumont, Brandon Romero of Dallas, and Grant Romero of Dallas; stepson, Brian Robbins; brothers, Bret Romero, of Bridge City and Cory Romero of Beaumont; step-brothers, Rod Langlinais of Arp, and Chad Bourque of Tyler; stepsisters, Gwen Caswell of Bridge City and Lisa Caswell of Orangefield.

Vera D. Thornhill of Call, TX died Sunday, May 20th, 2018 at Christus Memorial Hospital. A lifelong resident of Vidor, TX that had made Call, TX her home for the last eight years. She was a homemaker, loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Visitation began at 6:00 pm Monday, May 21, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial following at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. She was preceded in death by her husband Douglas O. Thornhill Sr., son James D. Thornhill Jr., grandson Jacob Harvey, father Burley Flowers, mother Gertrude Hooks, siblings Margret, Weldon, Darlene, Mary Lou and Phyllis. She is survived by her daughter Anna Lechinger of Vidor, TX, grandchildren Tammy Williams of Call, TX, Charles Simmons Jr.

John “Johnny” Dwain Goins

Johnny D. Goins, 59 of Vidor died Saturday, May 19, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston, TX. A native of Beaumont, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Johnny was a Iron Worker and enjoyed fishing, hunting and outdoor activities. Mostly he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and family. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A memorial service was held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Monday, May 21, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents Stewart and Peggy Goins and his brother Carl Goins. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Theresa Goins, daughters Christy Paine and her husband Bryan, Katie Waters and her husband Seth all of Vidor, TX, brothers Jerry Goins and his wife Marilyn of Cove, TX, David Goins and his wife Marie of Vidor, TX, 4 grandchildren Brayden, Caleb, Kennady and Emma, numerous nieces and nephews.

Maudie Neeb, 79, of Groves, died at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. She was a native of Caldwell, and a resident of Groves for 41 years. She retired as a department manager from Bruce’s Market Basket. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. with a 6:00 p.m. Rosary at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 21, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Neeb, Sr. of Groves; two daughters, Deborah Dengler of LaBelle, and Tammy Bateman of Houston; two sons, Jerry Neeb, Jr. of Vicksburg, MS, and Blane Neeb of Vidor; sister, Shirley Talash of Duncanville; two brothers, Joseph Schoppe of Houston, and Charles Schoppe of LaPort; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren

Edwin Riley Collins, 71, of Silsbee, died Sunday, April 29, 2018. His committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont. Survivors include his nieces and nephews, Julie Sealy of Silsbee; Sam Collins of Lumberton; Ricky Collins of Silsbee; Travis Collins of Silsbee; Alena Collins of Beaumont; Deana Collins of Lumberton; Curtis Louvierre of Sour Lake; Stephen Collins of Lumberton; Jarrell Collins of Lumberton; Devon Louvierre, Edwin Williford, and Louis Williford, all of Mauriceville; and Janice Evans of Houston.
