Velda Kay Fabriguze

On February 6, 2018, Velda Kay Fabriguze gained her wings and is now in Heaven. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, and sister. She was born on September 23, 1960, in Port Arthur, TX. She married her wonderful husband Harvey Fabriguze on November 10, 1997 and they resided in Beaumont, TX. She worked at J C Penney for nineteen years where she later retired. She was a faithful member of Eastgate UPC in Vidor, TX. She is survived by her husband Harvey Fabriguze; parents Eugene and Nylotis Goudeau; Sister, Susie Franz; children Sonnie Fabriguze, Eugene Goudeau, Christina Goudeau, Christopher Rayley, Brandon Fabriguze, and Brandy Fabriguze; grandchildren; Savannah Rayley, Jadice McWilliams, Emerald McWilliams, and Truli McWilliams; nieces and nephews; Roffie Franz, Jason McCullough, Larry and Jennifer Saucer, Aliya Saucer and Grayson Saucer. Velda was a faithful servant of God and loved her family, she was always positive and never met a stranger, always putting others first.

Delores Jean “Nena” Whitmire

Delores J. Whitmire, 83 of Evadale died Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor. Delores was born at Gribble Hospital in Vidor and was a longtime resident of Vidor and Evadale. Delores was a member Evadale Church of Christ, Red Hat Society and the Order of the Eastern Star lodge #914 in Vidor. She enjoyed crafting, seamstress, and sold Sarah Covington Jewelry. She even had her own crafting company, Delores Original’s. Delores was very thoughtful of other people, she would remember every one’s birthday. She also was a collector of Shirley Temple dolls and tea pots. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, February 9, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Delores was preceded in death by her daughter Alisa Ann Byerly, father Aubrey Jarrell and mother Lillian Bell.

Dorothy Jean Hunter

Dorothy Jean Hunter crossed Jordan peaceably at 86 years of age, leaving behind the crippled body nature caused her to bear the last few years of her life, and entered her eternal journey in Heaven in a new form only God could provide on January 31, 2018, reuniting with her husband, parents, sisters, and other loved ones who had already made the journey provided by the grace and salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ. Dorothy was born on July 14, 1931 to Tom and Vallie Cox of Nash, Texas. On July 27, 1950, Dorothy married Charles L. Hunter of Hickory Flat, Mississippi, and the two of them began a life together that spanned 64 years until the passing of Charles Hunter in 2014. Dorothy was a mother, homemaker, and a supervisor in the Visa department of American National Bank of Beaumont until her retirement in 1986. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two sisters, Hazel Carter and Betty Turner, of Texarkana, Texas. Dorothy is survived by her son, Larry C.

Victoria “Vickie” Richard

Victoria “Vickie” Richard, 92, of Vidor, TX died Wednesday, January 31st, 2018 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor. A native of Rayne, LA she was a longtime resident of Vidor who enjoyed cooking, doing crafts, crocheting, and working in her garden but she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. Visitation will be Monday, February 5, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with a Rosary at 1:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Vickie is survived by 2 sons; Don Richard and his wife Judy of Vidor and Dale Richard and his wife Marlene of Mauriceville, TX, 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 1 brother; Victor Credeur of Rayne, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband; Aaron Richard, 1 sister and 3 brothers.

Monica Margarette Fabre

Monica Margarette Fabre, 67, of Vidor, died Monday, January 29, 2018 in Beaumont. A native of Munich, Germany she was a longtime resident of Vidor and worked in sales in the insurance industry. A memorial service was held Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Benoit’s Louis Hall, Vidor. She is survived by her mother, Hilda Davis; daughter, Lauren Campbell of Bridge City; son, Derek Johnson of Vidor, three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and step-brothers, Buford Day, Kenneth Day, and Pat Day.

She is survived by her husband Leonard Henry of Vidor; son, Paul Henry of Mauriceville; daughter, Pam Denson of Vidor; two grandchildren and one greatgrandchildren.

Agnes “Lavern” Watson

Agnes “Lavern” Watson, 82 of Vidor, TX died Tuesday, January 30th, 2018 at The Meadows Nursing and Rehab in Orange, TX. A native of Bolivar County, MS she was a longtime resident of Vidor. She loved gardening and was a former member of the Vidor Garden Club. Lavern was also a member of the Church of God in Vidor. Visitation will be Friday, February 2, 2018 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home. Lavern is survived by her husband: Jimmie H. Watson, 3 daughters: Jimmie Ann Billings of Denver, CO, Linda Gail Lambert and her husband Russell of Plano, TX and Elizabeth Rose Rosser of Hueytown, AL, 1 son: William R. “Bill” Watson and his wife Connie of Vidor, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 2 sisters: Maureen McGriff and Juanita Dykes, both of Vidor. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

Carla Joan Dougharty-Tilley, 75, of Vidor, TX died Monday, January 29th, 2018 at her residence. A native of DeRidder, LA she was a longtime resident of Vidor who enjoyed crocheting, cooking, playing dominoes but she especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, February 1, 2018 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Friday, February 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at 4:00 p.m. at Ford Cemetery in Newton, TX. Carla is survived by 1 daughter: Molly Sue Dougharty and her husband Donny Denmon of Vidor, 2 sons: John David Tilley, Jr and Sean Ragan Tilley and his wife Misty all of Vidor. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 1 brother: Jimmy Wayne Dougharty of Beaumont, TX and her 2 loving dogs: Allie and Noah. Carla was preceded in death by her parents: Carlton and Alto Wayne Dougharty, and 1 brother: Doyle Dougharty.

Wesley Ryan Romero

Wesley Ryan Romero, 76, of Vidor, passed away on January 28th, 2018 after a courageous, determined battle with cancer. Wesley was born on December 11th, 1941 to Addie and Ryan Romero in Pt. Arthur, Texas. Affectionately known by many as “Uncle Wesley”, he will be remembered for his deep and abiding love for family and friends, a big heart, his caring, helping hands, fun times at the farm in Sour Lake, and cooking BBQ. Wesley graduated from Vidor High School then worked at DuPont Sabine River Works in Orange as a welder for 32 years. After retiring, he spent the rest of his life working at his farm in Sour Lake, the place he loved to be, raising cows, cutting hay, and working the land. He developed part of the farm into the “Mud Farm” where 4X4 trucks could race and have fun in the mud. He was preceded in death by his brother Carlos, and his precious mother, Addie Eaves Romero.

Neda E. Wilson

Neda E. Wilson, 75, of Vidor, TX died Wednesday, January 31st, 2018 at Sterling Oaks Rehabilitation in Katy, TX. She was born in Beaumont, TX she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Neda earned her Ph.D and worked as a Social Worker and was a strong proponent of social justice. She loved Jesus very much and was a member of First Baptist Church in Vidor where she often lead Bible studies. In her spare time she enjoyed reading her Bible and learning new things. Visitation was Monday, February 5, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment following at Restlawn Memorial Park.
