Charlotte Waldrep

Charlotte Waldrep, 86, of Vidor, TX died Friday, December 8th, 2017 in Pt. Arthur, TX. A native of Kountze, TX she was a longtime resident of Vidor who enjoyed traveling, dancing, sewing and crocheting blankets. She also love to spend quality time with her children and grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, December 11, 2017 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment at Warren Cemetery in Warren, TX at 1:00 p.m.. Charlotte is survived by 2 daughters; Vonnie Flowers and her husband Michael of Mauriceville, TX, and Beverly Holmes and her husband Clayton also of Mauriceville, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by 1 sister; Melva Jo Ennis and her husband Royce of Silsbee, TX and 1 brother; Raleigh Cunningham of Houston, TX. Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband; V.H.Waldrep.

Clarence James “CJ” Mayea

On December 9th, 2017 at 12:18 p.m. while surrounded by his loving wife and four daughters, CJ Mayea smiled one last time, then gently slipped into the arms of the angels. CJ was a 1957 graduate of Vidor High School, retired from the Pipe Fitters Local 195, and a long time resident of Buna, TX. Visitation was Monday, December 11, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment following at Restlawn Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife Dotty Mayea, daughters Diana McDaniel and her husband Lynn of Willis, TX, Christine Knight and her husband Kenney of Beaumont, TX, Jenell Williams and her husband James of Buna, TX and Sheri Kelly and her husband Rowdy also of Buna. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, brothers Ronnie Mayea and his wife Lynn of Vidor and Danny Mayea and his wife Linda also of Vidor.

Gladys Marie Blanton

Gladys Blanton, 80 of Vidor died Tuesday, December 12th, 2017 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. A native of Clayton, OK, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Gladys was a ministers wife and was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church in Vidor. She was a Medical Assistant and enjoyed writting poetry. Gladys loved her yorky dogs. She also enjoyed attending the grandchildren activities and helping take care of them. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 16, 2017 at New Hope Church in Cleburne, Texas with burial to follow at Baker-Lain Cemetery.

Matthew Louis Zambardino

Matt Zambardino, 67 of Vidor earned his angel wings and went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 10th, 2017 at his residence. A native of Beaumont, Texas, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Matt was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor and was retired from Bethlehem Steel in Beaumont. he served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict. Matt”s favorite pass time was watching his Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed fishing. He was a gifted carpenter, enjoyed gardening and loved all animals especially his schnauzers. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A mass will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with cremation to follow. Matt was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Annette Zambardino, brother Mark Zambardino and 2 of his schnauzers Holly and Meagan.

Doye Wayne Smith

Doye Wayne Smith, 76, of Vidor, TX died Wednesday, December 6th, 2017 in Beaumont, TX. A native of Ragley, LA he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Doye was a member of Eastgate United Pentecostal Church and a member of the International Longshoreman Association Local 21. He enjoyed hunting, ἀshing, traveling and was a wood craftsman and made walking canes. In his younger years he raised gardens and built two houses. Doye was a very giving person, a good husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his children and his grandchildren and great grandchildren were his heart. Visitation will be Friday, December 8, 2017 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Eastgate United Pentecostal Church. Interment will be at Bivens Cemetery, LA at 2:00 p.m. Doye is survived by his wife of 57 years; Eva Ann Smith of Vidor, 3 sons; Karl W. Smith and his wife Billie Rose of Spurger, TX, John E.

Robert Lester Smith

Robert Lester Smith, 69, of Mauriceville, TX died Tuesday, December 5th, 2017 at his home. He was a native of Houston, TX who enjoyed cooking, watching college football, and spending time with his family. Robert was known as being the life of the party and always had a story to tell. He is survived by his son; Shannon Smith and his wife Kim of Beaumont, TX, 2 grandsons; Zach and Max Smith, and lifelong partner; Vicki Smith. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; Lawrence McMellon and Jean Grace-Cox. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

Clayton Ashworth

Funeral services for Clayton “Clay Boy” Paul Ashworth, 17, of DeRidder, will be held Friday, December 08, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in DeRidder, with Pastor Josh Eubanks and Rev. Dr. Ralph Beasley, Sr officiating. Burial will follow in Whitaker Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 7, 2017, from 5 P. M. until 8 P.M. in Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, and from 12 P.M. until time of the service, 2 P.M., Friday, December 8, 2017, in First Baptist Church of DeRidder. Clayton was born September 13, 2000, in Fort Campbell, KY, to Jason Paul and Wendy Carol Beasley Ashworth. He passed away on December 2, 2017, from injuries received in an automobile accident. “Clay” was an energetic and spirited young man who loved life and the outdoors. It was his caring and compassionate demeanor that drew people to love him.
