Dorothy Ann Powell

Dorothy Ann LeMare Powell, 85, of Premont died Sunday, July 1, 2018 at her home. She was a native of Beaumont. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church in Premont. Burial immediately followed at Premont Cemetery. She is survived by daughters, Deanne Shaw and Donita Powell of Premont; sons, Terry Powell of Orange and Todd Powell of Abilene; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Stratton of Beaumont; and brother, Billy LeMare of Vidor.

Charles Dexter Watson

Charles Dexter Watson, 82, of Vidor died Thursday June 28, 2018 at Vidor Health and Rehab. He was born on August 21, 1935 in Liberty, Texas and was a lifelong resident of Vidor. He retired as Machinist Safety Engineer of Bayer Polysar, in Orange, Texas. His other careers consisted of police officer, firefighter, and emergency medical technician. He was a member at Central Baptist Church in Vidor, Texas. His favorite hobbies were fishing and controlling RC airplanes. Charles was married to Victoria Watson for 63 years and had three children, Charles Robert Watson and his wife Camelia Kay Petitt from Tomball, Texas, Victoria Lynn Watson Parker and her husband Jerry Allen Parker from Vidor, Texas, and Edward Lee Watson and his wife Carla Watson from Vidor, Texas. He had ten grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Visitation began at 6:00 pm Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

Bobbie Jane Williams

Jane Williams 81 of Vidor died Friday, June 29th, 2018 at her residence. A native of Garrison, Texas, she was raised in Orange, Texas, and was a longtime resident of Vidor. Jane was a member of First United Methodist Church in Vidor. She was an active member of the church acting as a past youth director and Sunday school teacher, she also helped with the shoebox ministries and was a member of the quilting club. Jane was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved sports and was a LSU and Texas Ranger fan. When she was younger she enjoyed camping and fishing. Jane was well traveled. She was an avid reader and great homemaker. The past couple of years she has adored her cat Snowflake. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm and the funeral service at 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Jane is survived by her husband of 62 years Bobby Williams of Vidor, TX, daughter Pamela J.

Shirley Virginia McLain

McLain, 83, of Vidor, Texas went home to be with her Lord & Savior on Saturday, June 30, 2018. Shirley was born on February 17, 1935 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Freddie and Ida Belle Norton. Shirley graduated from Vidor High School and then received training as a Radiology Technician; she would retire from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital where she worked as a Radiology Technician for 39 years. Shirley was outgoing, caring, loving and selfsacrificing. She was a terrific mother, and a wonderful grandmother. She volunteered her time and energy at the United Christian Care Center in Vidor, and as a member of the Kitchen Team at 1st Baptist Church in Vidor. Shirley was a member of TOPS #TX345 of Vidor, and the Red Hat Society. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Freddie and Ida Belle Norton; her loving husband of 48 years, Lester McLain; and a brother, Doyle Norton.

Mildred Raye Gilbreath

Mildred R. Gilbreath 77 of Orangefield died Monday, June 25th, 2018 at her residence. A native of Kirbyville, TX, she was a longtime resident of Orangefield. Mildred was a charter member of Pecan Acres Baptist Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star chapter#914 in Vidor. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Nile and fund raised a lot for the Shriners Hospital for Children in Galveston. But she enjoyed being with her family more than anything else. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Pecan Acres Baptist Church in Vidor with burial to follow at Stephenson Cemetery in Vidor. Mildred is preceded in death by her parents A.J. and Tommie Stephenson and sister Yvonne DeRamus.

Cheryl Ann Frederick Eaves

Cheryl A. Frederick Eaves, 66, of Mauriceville died Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Clairmont Nursing Home in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, she was a longtime resident of Mauriceville and was a LVN. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A memorial service will be announced at a later time. She is survived by her children and grandchildren: Jimmie Sisk of Pearland; Jessica of Mauriceville; Jeremie of Lumberton; Lindsey of Benton, IL; brother, Mike Frederick of Beaumont; sister, Tennie Allen of Port Neches; and 13 grandchildren.

Ryan “Frenchie

Ryan “Frenchie” Romero passed away from this life at the age of 98 on June 19,2018. He was born September 23, 1919 to Marie and Joseph Romero in New Iberia, La. He was a longtime resident of Vidor. Visitation will be Friday, June 22, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Turning Point Church. A celebration of Ryan’s life, given by Brother George Gau, will be Saturday, June 23, at 10:00am at Turning Point Church, 3600 North Main St., Vidor, Tx. He was married to Addie Eaves. They celebrated 76 years of marriage before her passing in 2015. Ryan was owner of Ryan Romero Excavating. He was a heavy equipment (dragline) operator for most of his life. He was well known as one of the best and worked all over the United States with his Bucyrus-Erie Dragline. With a 4th grade education, he could figure dirt work to perfection in his head. When he retired from excavating, he turned to gardening and barbequing. He loved raising vegetables for his family and friends.

Audrey Dean Rogers

Audrey Dean Rogers, 79, of Vidor, TX died Monday, June 18th, 2018 in Beaumont, TX. A native of Tyler, TX she was a longtime resident of Vidor and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Audrey liked to cook and listen to audio books, was an avid crossword puzzle enthusiast and very involved in raising her grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m.. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Audrey is survived by 3 daughters; Gina Irwin and her husband Donald of Vidor, Toni Anderson and her husband Marvin of Colville, WA and Angela Moore and her husband Jeff of Orange, TX, 3 grandchildren; Jennifer Camp, Janie Nace, and Jeffery Moore and one great-granddaughter Samantha Nace. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband; Paul Rogers, son; Paul Clifford Rogers, and her parents; Roger and Ida Williams.
