Ronnie Lynn Holden Sr.

Ronnie Holden, 63, of Vidor died Saturday, September 22, 2108 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. Ronnie was a native and lifelong resident of Vidor. He was a tank builder and enjoyed hunting. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Ronnie is survived by his brother J.W. Holden Jr. of Vidor, TX, sisters Mary Britain of Many, LA, Linda Nelson of Oklahoma, Brenda Butler of Vidor, TX, Kay Davis of Woodville, TX and Rita Dorn of Vidor, TX. He was preceded in death by his son Ronnie Lynn Holden Jr..

Woodrow “Smitty” Wilson Smith

Woodrow W. Smith, 97 of Vidor died Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at his residence. A native of Lamerle,  he was a longtime resident of Vidor and was a heavy equipment operator. He was a World War II veteran of the US Army. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 24, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial following at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. He is survived by his daughters, Lenora Holst of Vidor, and Rose Mathews of Beaumont; son, Larry Smith of Cedar Park; 15 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

Charles “Charlie” Jessel

Charlie Brown, 6, of Port Acres died Thursday, September 20, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. He was a native of Boaz, AL, but was raised in Port Acres and attended school at East Chamber Elementary in Winnie. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with a graveside service to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor at 3:00 p.m. He is survived by his mother, Bonnie Power of Deweyville; father, Justin Brown of Port Acres; brothers, Colton Cash Brown of Port Acres, and Gage Ray of LaBelle; sisters, Phedre Le-Anne Power and Gwenyvere Elise Power both of Harvest, AL, Evangeline Ray of LaBelle, and Skyler Watkins of Vidor; grandparents,  Lisa Boyer of Harvest, AL, Curtis Gifford of Billings, MT, Pam Brown of Port Acres,  and Barry Thibodeaux of Port Acres; and greatgrandmother, Martha “ Memaw” Anderson of Beaumont.

Romie Robert Frazier, Jr.

Romie Frazier, 76 of Vidor died Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at his residence. A native of Charleston, WV, he was a longtime resident of Vidor and retired from Hydraulic Air and Repair as a first class machinist. Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2018 at New Hope Cemetery in Warren. He is survived by his wife, Carroll Frazier of Vidor; sons, Carlton Richburg of Jasper, and Bobby Frazier of Vidor,; daughters, Brenda Boyd of Sour Lake, and Cathy Conner of Warren; brother, Donald Frazier of Hurricane, WV; sisters Gladys King of Scottsdale, PA, and  Gibson of Snellville, GA; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Phyllis Patricia Jackson

Phyllis Patricia Jackson, 82, of Mauriceville, TX died Friday, September 14th, 2018 at her home. A native of Pueblo, CO she was a longtime resident of Mauriceville who enjoyed doing ministry work and loved taking care of her family. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 18, 2018 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehova Witnesses in Vidor. Phyllis is survived by 4 daughters; Deborah A. Smith, Barbara Jackson, Connie Jackson, and Tammy Strickland and her husband Frankie all of Mauriceville, 3 sons; Carl Jackson and his wife Stacy of Vidor, Mark Jackson and his wife Donna also of Vidor, and David Jackson of Mauriceville, 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and 3 sisters; Barbara McNeely, Thetis Souza, and Donna Griffin. She was preceded in death by her husband; Connie Jackson and son; Michael Jackson.

Connie Jo McKay

Connie Jo McKay, 63, of Vidor, TX died Thursday, September 13th, 2018 at her home. A native of Victoria, TX she was a longtime resident of Vidor who enjoyed going to the casinos and cooking but she especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Visitation was held Monday, September 17, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services were at 12:00 p.m. with interment to following at Restlawn Memorial Park. Connie is survived by 10 nieces; Tina Castilaw, Heather Armstrong, Nicole Reynolds, B.J. Reynolds, Deena Leland- Boudreaux, Kimberly Fails, Jackquline Maris, Frances Shelia Roberts, Sherry Combs, and Brandi Matlock, 6 nephews; Trey Maloy, Anthony Reynolds, Trent Reynolds, Theron Reynolds and his wife Valerie, William Onstott and Brian McKay,1 great nephew; Justin Keen and 2 sisters; Beverly Matlock and Delores Harris.

Martha Jackson Lester

Martha Lester, 86, of Beaumont was born June 8, 1932 in Beaumont and passed away Sept.16, 2018 at Oakwood Manor in Vidor. Martha lived most of her life in Beaumont and was a proud graduate of French High School class of 1950. In her earlier life, Martha worked as an X-Ray Technician at Baptist Hospital and as a draftswoman with Dollinger Steel. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 18 from 6:00 - 8:00pm at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont. A memorial service will be Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 10:00am at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. Lester, Jr.

Samuel J. Maida

Samuel J. Maida, 87, of Beaumont, died Sunday, September 16, 2018. He was a native of Beaumont and a Korean War veteran of the US Navy. He owned and operated the J&J Fence Company in the Beaumont, Woodville, and Jasper area. His funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 20, 2018, at Broussard’s, Beaumont, with interment following at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont. Survivors include his wife, Billie Maida; daughter, Terri Ardis of Vidor; sons, Cyril “Beau” Maida of Vidor; Timothy Stephens of Beaumont; and Daniel Stephens of Silsbee; daughter, Sherry McKee of Silsbee; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and two greatgreat- grandchildren.

Mark “Junior” Everett Powell Jr

Junior Powell, 30 of Vidor died Friday, September 14th, 2018 in Vidor. A native of Beaumont, he was a lifelong resident of Vidor. Junior was a very loving family man with a heart of gold. He never met a single person he wouldn’t help. His passions were being an amazing father, building stuff with his bare hands and definitely wasn’t afraid of getting his hands dirty with his brother David. He loved working on cars, bike’s and four wheelers. Junior was a very simple, yet complicated, down for whatever, pure country boy with a smile that lit any room up he walked into. He will be deeply missed by all the many hearts he touched. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Friday, September 21, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with cremation to follow.

Debra Wilcox Bodine Wactor

Debra Wilcox Bodine-Wactor, 57, of Nederland, TX died Saturday, September 15th, 2018 at her home. A native of Beaumont, TX she was a longtime resident of Vidor who enjoyed working with flowers and loved going to the beach. She was known to be a hard worker and raised her 3 children. Visitation was held Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment followed at Del Rose Cemetery. Debra is survived by her husband of 30 years; Tommy Wactor, 1 daughter; Heather Cheyenne Marlow, 2 sons; Joshua Mark Bodine and Jeremy Jackson Bodine and his companion Ashley all of Vidor, 11 grandchildren and parents; Tommy Sr. and Delores Wilcox of Vidor.
