Gloria “Nannie” Fayetta Glover

Gloria F. Glover, 76 of Vidor died Wednesday, August 12th, 2020 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor. A native of Warren, Arkansas, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Gloria was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and retired from Commercial Metals in Beaumont. Gloria loved her church and her friends. She enjoyed calligraphy and listening to "Jesus" music as she would call it. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Pine Forest Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, August 16, 2020 at Pine Forest Baptist Church. Gloria is survived by her daughters Leni Medley of Vidor, TX, Kathleen Moore of Katy, TX, son Robert Rumsey of Sour Lake, TX, 5 step daughters and 1 step son, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Nita Greene

Nita Greene, 82, of Vidor, Texas died Wednesday, August 12th, 2020 at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas. She was a longtime resident of Vidor and was a member of River of Life Church. Nita was a sunday school teacher for over 4 years and taught children's church. She was a member of WN and was a past officer. Nita was also a member of the Vidor Band Booster Club. She was a self-employed Cake Maker. Her visitation will be Monday, August 17th, 2020 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM. Her graveside will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. Nita was survived by her husband of 63 years Larry Greene of Vidor, TX, children Donna Claybrook of Vidor, TX, Tammie Loe of Vidor, Texas, Randy Greene of Vidor, TX, Ray Greene of Vidor, TX, sister Evelyn Marks of Brookeland, TX, 12 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.

Frances Louise Ray Hill Elliott

Frances L. Ray Hill Elliott, 88, died Sunday, August 9th, 2020 at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas. A native of Woden, TX, she was a longtime resident of Vidor, TX and was a member of First United Methodist Church. She taught Science for 33 years at Vidor Junior High School. When she was younger she enjoyed participating in athletic events and also loved arts and crafts, pottery, gardening, roller skating, going to the beach, fishing, crabbing, and traveling in her free time. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 15th, 2020 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with interment to follow at 4:00 PM at Hemphill Cemetery in Hemphill, TX. She is survived by her children John Hill of San Antonio, Andrea Nelson of Austin, TX, Patti Gilbert of Beaumont, TX, Steve Hill of KIrbyville, TX, Le Savarese of Arlington, TX, step daughter Kara Elliott, 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.

Jewel "Laverne" Warner

Jewel "Laverne" Warner, 93, of Vidor died on Saturday, August 8th, 2020, at Summer Place Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was a longtime resident of Vidor and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Vidor. She was a homemaker, active in her church, and in the Christian Care Center. A graveside service was held for Jewel Tuesday, August 11th, 2020 at Watson Chapel Cemetery in Kirbyville, TX. She is survived by her sons Don of Dallas, TX and Richard Warner of Orange, TX, her daughter Nancy Carreon of Beaumont, TX, 6 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Wilson Ray Williams

Ray Williams, 92 of Vidor died Tuesday, August 11th, 2020 at his residence. A native of Bastrop, Louisiana, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Ray was a member of Kingdom Hall of Johovahs Witnesses in Vidor. He served his country in the U.S. Marines and worked at Coastal Armature Works in Beaumont Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Ray was survived by his wife of 65 years Nina Williams of Vidor, TX, sons Tim Williams of Crystal Beach, TX and Johnny Reed of Houston, TX, daughter Janet Walker of Vidor, TX, and 4 grandchildren.

Gilbert Adam (Buck) Revia

Gilbert Adam (Buck) Revia, 92 of Vidor, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, August 11th, 2020. Born in Kountze on June 10th, 1928 to Louie L. and Amy Geldard Revia, Buck was the youngest of 11 children. After moving to Vidor in the 30's he met and married the love of his life Marjorie Johnson. They celebrated 75 years of marriage on June 11. Born to them were 5 children - Judith Revia Pillow, Larry Gilbert, Steven Keith, Sheila Revia Simmons and Scott Randall Revia. Buck was a carpenter by trade, having been mentored by his father-in-law Charlie Johnson. He never met a stranger and once he met you, he remembered you for life. Buck accepted Jesus as his Savior and was a faithful member of Rose City Baptist Church. He was a soul winner till the end. He spent many years volunteering with Lunches of Love. Preceded in death by his sons Steven Keith and Larry Gilbert and his daughter Sheila Gayle.

On 8-22-19 the world lost a beautiful free spirit. A lady with a heart as big as Texas and a smile as beautiful and bright as the sun. She was kind, loving, honest and could be trusted with anything, including your heart. We will miss you and love you forever.

Jerry Lynn Daley

Jerry L. Daley, 67 of Vidor died Tuesday, August 11th, 2020 at his residence. A native of Dallas, TX, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Jerry was a retired self employed bricklayer. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing and traveling, but most of he loved being with his grandchildren. Cremation arrangement were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Joanne Monroe Daley, parents Jerry and Alice Daley, brother Wayne Daley. He is survived by his children Jerry Monroe, Tina Monroe, Ursula Carius, Robert Monroe and William “Willy Wayne” Daley, brothers Terry Daley, Don Daley and his wife Germaine, sisters Brenda Swearingen and her husband Tom, Debra Barney, sibling James Jason and faithful companion EL Chappo, numerous nephews, nieces and grandchildren.

Vernon Doil Smith

Vernon D. Smith, 68 of Vidor died Sunday, August 16th, 2020 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A Native of Newton, TX, he was a lifelong resident of Vidor. Vernon was a member of the church of the Nazarene in Vidor. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force as a sargeant. Vernon enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing his guitar, song writing and singing. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm and funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 22, 2020 at The Church of the Nazarene Church. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents William G. and Dollie Smith, sisters Gloria L. Birch and Vivian O. Smith. He is survived by his brother Preston G. Smith and his wife Charlene of Montrose, IA, sister Devonna Williams of Vidor, TX, numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Church of the Nazarene in Vidor.
