MARY ANN MITCHELL

Mary A. Mitchell, 68 of Vidor died Saturday, March 2nd, 2019 at her residence. A native of Call, Texas, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Mary was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Vidor and taught Sunday school there. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with cremation to follow. Mary is survived by her husband of 49 years Thomas Mitchell of Vidor, TX, daughters Darla Mitchell of Vidor, TX, Laura Mitchell Lambert of Greenville, SC, sisters Nita Franklin of Buna, TX, Sandra Louge and Brenda Forse both of Kirbyville, TX, and 4 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations can be made toward funeral services.

FRANKIE JAY PHILLIPS

Frankie Jay Phillips infant baby boy of Bryan Phillips died Monday, February 25th, 2019 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Frankie is survived by his father Bryan Phillips, sisters Addison Phillips of Sour Lake, TX, Delilah Hodge Phillips of Port Neches, TX, gandparents Stephen and Betty Phillips of Alba, TX.

Mary Pamela “Pamma” Shivers

Pam “Pamma” Shivers, 71 of Vidor died Thursday, February 21st, 2019 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor. Pam was a native of Many, Louisiana, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Pam was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Vidor and was an office manager for Dr. Phillips and Dr. Laughlin for 30 years. She enjoyed ceramics, gardening flowers, cooking and eating, but most of all she was an animal lover especially dogs. Pam was tied to and had done a great amount of funding to the animal rescue group Sweet Pups.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Friday, March 1, 2019 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with cremation to follow.

Metta Jean McPherson Riggle

Metta Jean McPherson Riggle won her ten year battle with Parkinson’s disease and went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 17, 2019. Metta was born in Wheeling County, WV on February 24, 1939. She grew up in West Virginia and Pennsylvania, graduating from West Alexandria High School of West Alexandria, PA in 1957.

Metta is preceded in death by her husband, Ralford, of 48 years; her mother, Thelma McPherson and her brother, Earnest Culley, Jr. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Dennis Parsley of Mauriceville, TX; her son and daughter-in-law, James D. and Tammy Riggle of Sparta, TN; grandson, Nathan Landolt of Houston, TX; grandson and granddaughterin-law Seth and Jill Landolt of Wylie, TX; grandson, Tyler Riggle of Sparta, TN; sister and brother-in-law Glenda and William Craig of Claysville, PA; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.

Richard Dura Yaw, 66, of Vidor died Monday, February 18, 2019 in Vidor.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, February 23 at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial to follow at Weeks Cemetery in Newton.

Visitation was held Friday, February 22, 5:00-8:00pm.

Born December 2, 1952 in Newton, he had recently retired as the Regional Coordinator with Sears maintenance. He was also in the Navy where he received the National Defense Service Medal.

He is survived by his fiance’, Lillian LeBlanc of Vidor; daughters, Janette Yaw of Montano, Janice Yaw of Vidor, Richi Yaw of Livingston; grandchildren Erika Burt, Emily Saur, Alexandra Barrow, Elise Roesler, and Margaret Roesler.

JAMES EDWARD PARKER

James Edward Parker, 81, of Vidor, Texas went to his heavenly home on February 22, 2019 after a long illness with dementia. He was a draftsman of home plans, and worked for NASA’s space programs, Boeing Aircraft, and numerous petroleum companies. He also worked as a metal engraver, movie extra, military reenactor, and aerial photographer.

A Graveside Service for Mr. Parker was held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.
