Willie Mae Smith

Willie Mae Glover Smith, age 90, of Vidor, Texas passed away on Sunday April 21, 2019. Willie was born May 15, 1928 in Orange, Texas to Viola Ezell and William W. Glover.

Willie is survived by her husband, Dale G. Smith of Vidor; son Dale G. Smith Jr of Vidor.; son James Smith and wife Barbara of Vidor; daughter Glenda Turner and husband Bob of Vidor; brothers William and Dwight Glover of Vidor, brother-in-law Tilman Smith of Mauriceville, sisters-in-law Flo Wilson of Beaumont and Peggy Cantrell of San Antonio; grandchildren Lisa Bondurant, Brad Smith, Brent Smith, Rob Turner, Joshua Turner, Dustin Turner, and Mandi Koons, as well as 14 great grandchildren.

Willie was preceded in death by her parents William Glover and Viola Ezell, sister Marie Bailey, and grandson Tyler Winfree.

Paul Calhoon

Paul Calhoon, 57, of Orange, Texas, passed away on April 22, 2019, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow at Granger Cemetery in Orangefield.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 26, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Orange, Texas, on May 9, 1961, he was the son of Calvin Charles Calhoon and Frances (Mitchell) Furnace. Paul worked as a tow boat captain for Martin Gas for over 10 years. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Paul loved spending time with his family, especially his grandbabies. He also loved his dog, Pearl. Paul will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin Calhoon and Frances Furnace.

James “Jim” Harvey

James “Jim” Harvey, 76 of Vidor, TX died Thursday, April 25th, 2019 at his residence. A native of Chicago, IL he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Jim worked as a welder for many years and enjoyed hunting and drinking coffee with his friends but he especially loved spending time with his family.

Visitation was held Monday, April 29, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Graveside services were Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Restlawn Memorial Park.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 55 years; Nancy Harvey, 1 daughter; Jennifer Harvey of Vidor, 1 grandson; Colby Morvant and his wife Christina of Vidor, 3 great grandchildren; Rose Morvant, Jacelinn Morvant and Arabella Morvant. Jim was preceded in death by 1 son; Christopher Harvey, 1 daughter; Jill Harvey and 1 granddaughter; Britney Harvey.

Kason Worsham

Kason Worsham, 11, of Vidor, TX died Wednesday, April 24th, 2019 in Beaumont, TX. A native of Beaumont he was a resident of Vidor who enjoyed fishing and playing Fortnite video games. He also played Little League football and football with his friends. Kason was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved eating all kinds of food.

Visitation was Sunday, April 28, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services were Monday, April 29, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment following at Del Rose Cemetery.

BOBBY JOE WATKINS

Bobby Joe “Stumpy” Watkins, 65, of Vidor, TX died Tuesday, April 23rd, 2019 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, TX. A native of Pt. Arthur, TX he was a longtime resident of Vidor and enjoyed playing golf, fishing working on motors, and cooking. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Stumpy is survived by 2 daughters; Heather and Stephanie Watkins both of Vidor, 7 grandchildren, 1 sister; Kathy Watkins-Oaks of Vidor along with numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

OLIVER HARRY SPRINKLE

Oliver Harry Sprinkle Jr, 68, of Vidor, TX died Monday, April 22nd, 2019 in Yoakum, TX at Yoakum Nursing and Rehab. A native of Vidor he was a longtime resident of Vidor before moving to Yoakum, TX. He worked as a roofer for many years and enjoyed woodworking and fishing but he especially loved music. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 24, 2019 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment in Leesville, LA at Holly Springs Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. located in Ft. Polk. Oliver is survived by 1 sister; Joyce Milstead, 3 brothers; Daniel Spinkle and his wife Nancy, Sammy Sprinkle and his wife Katy, and Walter Sprinkle and his wife Sheryl all of Vidor.

RICKY ‘SMILEY’ JOSEPH GUILBEAUX

Ricky J. Guilbeaux, of Mauriceville, TX died Wednesday, April 17th, 2019 at Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, TX. A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, he was a longtime resident of Mauriceville, Texas. Ricky was a sandblaster/painter. He enjoyed hunting, dancing and family gatherings. He served his country in the US Army. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, April 22, 2019 at Del Rose Cemetery in Vidor. Ricky is survived by his wife of 45 years Mildred Guilbeaux, daughters Amanda Corbello and Ann Guilbeaux, sons Michael Corbello and Cebe Guilbeaux all of Mauriceville, TX, sister Mary Ann Fountain of Newton, TX, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Travis “Biddy” Glynn Hagler

Travis G. Hagler, 77 of Vidor died Wednesday, April 17th, 2019 at his residence. A native of San Augustine, TX, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Travis was a maintenance electrician with American Valve and Hydrant for 35 years before he retired. He was a skilled craftsman in mechanics and carpentry. He loved spending time in his shop. He enjoyed working with his hands on mechanical engines and working with wood.

Visitation was at 6:00 pm Monday, April 22, 2019 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services was held at 10:00 am Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial following at Antioch Cemetery in San Augustine, Texas at 3:00 pm.
