Michael Lee Wilkerson

Michael Lee Wilkerson, 64 of Vidor died Monday, April 2, 2018 at his residence. A native of Beaumont, he was a longtime resident of Vidor and a retired instrument supervisor. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Wilkerson; daughters, Stephanie Nichols, Stacy Wilkerson, and Jessica Wilkerson, all of Vidor; four grandchildren.

Bill George

Bill George, 84, of Vidor, TX died Tuesday, March 27th, 2018 at his residence. A native of Stuttgart, AR he was a longtime resident of Vidor who enjoyed Bluegrass music and going to Bluegrass festivals, Zydeco music and dancing, gardening and being outdoors. Visitation was held Monday, April 2, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services were Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Del Rose Cemetery. Bill is survived by 1 daughter; Carolyn Griffin of Vidor, 1 son; Bobby George and his wife Candace of Stuttgart, AR, 2 grandchildren; Corey and Diane Griffin, 2 great grandchildren; Bryce and Riley Griffin and 2 cousins; Sonny and Earl George of Stuttgart, AR. Bill was preceded in death by 1 daughter; Donna Courtney and 1 brother; Woodrow George.

John William Shaver

John William Shaver, Sr., 60, of Orange, TX died Friday, March 30, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Silsbee, TX and was a longtime resident of Orange who enjoyed fishing and hunting but he especially loved to spend quality time with his grandchildren. He was an entrepreneur and owned Shaver Mortuary Transportation Service in Orange for many years until his health deteriorated. He was also an EMT for the Orange County Ambulance Service for 12 years. A memorial gathering was held Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. John is survived by his wife Dawn Pennington-Shaver of 13 years, 2 sons; John W. Shaver, Jr., and his wife Heather of Beaumont, TX and Will J. Shaver, of Nederland, TX, 4 daughters; Heather James and her husband Joseph of Lake Mary, FL, Tera Ray Shaver and her fiancee’ Brent Roper of Orangefield, TX, Bonnie Shaver of Nederland,TX and Jennifer Shaver of Mauriceville, TX.

Dorothy McNeely- Childs, 81, of Orangefield, TX died Tuesday, March 27th, 2018 at her residence. A native of Beaumont, TX she was a longtime former resident of Vidor, TX. and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pt. Acres, TX. Dorothy loved to spend quality time with her family especially her grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with funeral services at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Dorothy is survived by 3 daughters; Kellie Carter and her husband Pete of Vidor, Kim Neely and her husband Max of Orangefield, and Karol Dougherty and her husband Dennis of Texoma, TX, 3 sons; Kent McNeely of Mobeetie, TX, Alan Childs of Vidor, and Boyd Childs and his wife Gina also of Vidor. Dorothy was also survived by 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 sisters; Beverly Christy, Mary Beth Griffin, and Elaine Wachtel.

Janet Marie Jones, 66, of Orange, TX died Saturday, March 31st, 2018 at her residence with her husband by her side. A native of Tomah, WI she was a longtime resident of Orange who liked gardening, crocheting and cooking but she especially loved to spend quality time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. A graveside service will be Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Jones Family Cemetery. Janet is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Robert Jones, 3 sons; Robert L. Jones and his wife Diane of Clear Lake, TX, Kevin W. Jones and his wife Misty of Baytown, TX and Ryan C. Jones and his wife Chrissy of Beaumont, TX. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, her father; Clayton Hansen, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Janet was preceded in death by her mothers; Isabel Hansen and Marion Hansen.

Hazel Winnifred West

Hazel W. West, 93 of Vidor died Friday, March 23, 2018 at her residence. A native of Baytown, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. She was the past Superintendent Secretary of VISD. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Pine Forest Baptist Church, private interment to follow. She is survived by her son, Ben West of Vidor; daughters, Connie Colina of Austin, Elizabeth West of Vidor, and Joan Crawford of Center Point; sister, Carol Ann Yoder of Beaumont; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Robin Nadine Dishner

Robin N. Dishner, 63 of Vidor died Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. A native of Emmett, Idaho, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Robin was a homemaker and she enjoyed fishing and camping. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Robin is survived by her sons Robert Dishner, Paul Caldwell and Carl Caldwell all of Vidor, TX, brothers Harmon Dishner of Boise, ID, John Dishner and Clarence Dishner both of Emmett, Idaho, sister Lucy Dishner of Silver Springs, NV and 5 grandchildren.

Leon Paul Mayes

Leon Paul Mayes, 89 of Ocala, Florida died Saturday, March 17th, 2018 in Ocala. Leon Paul served his country in the U.S Army during the Vietnam conflict and retired after 25+ years of service. He was a member of Green Springs Baptist Church in Parkton, NC. Leon Paul was a member of the Masonic Lodge #1286 in Vidor and was also Scottish Rites. He enjoyed being with family and gardening. Graveside services was held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Leon Paul is survived by his wife of 55 years Soon Hi “Lee” Mayes of Ocala, Florida, daughter Paula Stauss and her husband Don of Silver Springs, Florida, 2 grandchildren Kali and Caleb Stauss, niece Judy Richard of Vidor, TX and nephew Gary Platt of Vidor, TX.

Hattie D. Bailey, 69 of Sulphur, LA died Saturday, March 17, 2018 at West Calcasieu Hospital in Sulphur, LA. A native of Beaumont, she was a longtime resident of Sulphur, LA, and a homemaker. Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Bailey Cemetery in Vidor. She is survived by her sister Ruth Drost of Sulphur, LA.
