Bobby Hasting Anderson Sr.

Bobby Hasting Anderson, Sr., 68, of Beaumont, died Friday, February 9, 2018, at The Oaks of Beaumont. He was a native and lifelong resident of Beaumont and a veteran of the US Marine Corps, serving in Vietnam. He owned and operated Anderson Enterprises and worked for the Greyhound Bus Line for 39 years. A private family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont. Survivors include his wife, Melanie Babin Anderson, of Beaumont; sons, Bobby Hasting Anderson Jr., of Mauriceville and Chad Luke Anderson of Frisco; and two grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West End Little League, P.O. Box 5853, Beaumont, Texas 77726.

Betty Lou Geldmeier Norman

Betty Lou Geldmeier Norman, 68, died on Thursday, February 8, 2018, in Beaumont. She was a native of Riesel, she was President and Chief Financial Officer of Norman’s Incorporated, which included Norman’s Shoes, Norman’s Men’s Fashions, and George Wilson’s, for 45 years. Her funeral service was held at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, February 11, 2018, at Broussard’s, Beaumont. A graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 12, 2018, at Riesel Cemetery, in Riesel. She is survived by her husband, Charles Norman; son, Jason Norman; three grandchildren; brother, William “Pete” Geldmeier, of Houston; and sisters-in-law, Sally Norman, of Mansfield; and Betty Ruth Norman, of Beaumont.

James “Sonny” Herm an Schnitz

Sonny Schnitz, 75 of Vidor died Friday, February 9, 2018 at Vidor Health and Rehab Center. A native of Kerrville, he was a longtime resident of Vidor and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving the Vietnam conflict. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. He is survived by his daughter, Missy Whitmire of Vidor; brothers, Avant Schnitz of Vidor, and John Paul Schnitz of Luling; sisters, Jo West of Gonzales, Jane Clark of Vidor, Mary Ann Salyer of Beaumont, and June Black of Gonzales; and two grandchildren.

Opal Rose Chambers

Rose Chambers, 87 of Evadale, died Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. A native of Woodville, she was a longtime resident of Evadale and a homemaker. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Central Baptist Church in Evadale with burial following at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. She is survived by her children, Mike Chambers of Houston, Karen Gifford of Mont Belvieu, Bryan Chambers of Colmesneil, and Cheryl Bertrand of Evadale; brother, Glen Anderson of Woodville; sister-in-law Geraldine Linza of Houston; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and one great -great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Central Baptist Church, Evadale, Texas.

Harlowe J. Wright, 88 of Vidor died Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of San Augustine, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. She was a homemaker and retired from Wal-Mart. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial following at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. She is survived by her sons Randy Wright and Curtis Earlton Wright, both of Vidor; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Heaven Ray Perry Cox, 15, of Orange, Texas, passed away on February 3, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 9, 2018, at Faith United Methodist Church in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Keith Tilley. Burial will follow the service at Wilkinson Cemetery in Orange. Born in Orange, Texas, on February 15, 2002, she was the daughter of Michael Ray Perry and Tammy Elaine Day Cox. Heaven was a very artistic girl who loved to paint, read, and write stories. She enjoyed being in the water and loved her horse and dogs. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her aunt, Shannon Jenkins; brother, Dustin Cox; and grandfather, Tommy Day.

A native of Beaumont he was a longtime resident of Vidor and a graduate of Vidor High School’s class of 1969. Jimmy worked as a Pipe Fitter and tank inspector for many years and enjoyed reading in his spare time. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 6, 2018 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with a Rosary service at 7:00p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. Neda E. Wilson

Neda E. Wilson, 75, of Vidor, TX died Wednesday, January 31st, 2018 at Sterling Oaks Rehabilitation in Katy, TX. She was born in Beaumont, TX she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Neda earned her Ph.D and worked as a Social Worker and was a strong proponent of social justice. She loved Jesus very much and was a member of First Baptist Church in Vidor where she often lead Bible studies. In her spare time she enjoyed reading her Bible and learning new things. Delores Jean “Nena” Whitmire

Delores J. Whitmire, 83 of Evadale died Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor. Delores was born at Gribble Hospital in Vidor and was a longtime resident of Vidor and Evadale. Delores was a member Evadale Church of Christ, Red Hat Society and the Order of the Eastern Star lodge #914 in Vidor. She enjoyed crafting, seamstress, and sold Sarah Covington Jewelry. She even had her own crafting company, Delores Original’s. Delores was very thoughtful of other people, she would remember every one’s birthday. She also was a collector of Shirley Temple dolls and tea pots. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, February 9, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Julia Mae Kirk, 91, of Vidor, TX died Wednesday, January 31st, 2018 in Beaumont, TX. She was a lifetime resident of Vidor and graduated Beta Sigma Fi from Cheriere Business College and also sold Artex products for craft projects. Julia was a member of both the Vidor Jaycee-ettes and First United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. Visitation was Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services were held Monday, February 5, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment following at Restlawn Memorial Park. Julia is survived by 3 daughters; Dianne Kirk- Jackson of Kirbyville, TX, Marsha Kirk-Green and her husband Brice of Aransas Pass, TX and Karen Kirk-Abshire and her husband Adrian of Las Vega, NV, and 1 son; Dan R.
