Troy Jacobs

Troy Jacobs, 70, of Sour Lake, Texas passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at his residence. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 6, 2015 at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenneth Powell officiating. Burial will follow at West Hamilton Cemetery in Shelbyville. Visitation will be Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mangum Funeral Home. He was born October 9, 1945 in Shelbyville, Texas to Joe and Lurena (Jamison) Jacobs. He served in the US Army special forces green beret. He was the owner of Jacobs welding and marine in Beaumont. He was a member of the Grand Lodge of Texas where he was a master mason in Good Standing of B.F. Quickstall No. 1370 in Beaumont. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Port Neches. He is preceded in death by his Parents, Joe & Lurena Bell Jacobs and Brothers, Billy Joe Jacobs and Travis Lee Jacobs.

Rodney Alan Weaver

Rodney Alan Weaver passed away 10/31/15. He was born in Sistersville, West Virginia to Harry and Ilo Weaver. The family moved to Olney, TX when he was a young child. The family later moved to Iowa Park, TX where he graduated from high school and attended Midwestern University in Wichita Falls, TX. He married Vida Hildebrand in 1950 and they had two daughters; Valerie Collins of Port St. Lucie, FL and Darla Marino and husband Glenn of Vidor, one grandson, Chris Collins of Port St. Lucie, FL and one granddaughter, Madison Marino of Vidor, one brother, Richard Weaver of Kalamazoo, MI. Rodney started his career in Iowa Park with United Gas Co. and later transferred to several different towns in Texas. He retired as an engineering associate corrosion with 40 years of service in Beaumont after the company became CenterPoint Energy. He loved to travel and spend time at their cabin in Angel Fire, New Mexico. He volunteered for a time at Some Other Place.

Donald R. Holmes

Donald R. Holmes, 65, a lifelong resident of Vidor, died Sunday, November 1st, 2015 at Methodist St. Catherine Hospital in Katy, TX. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Don enjoyed gardening and going to car shows but he especially loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Susan Holmes, daughter, Emily Allen and husband Dereck of Vidor, 2 sons, Derrick Holmes and wife Laura of Beaumont, and Dr. Jason Holmes of Vidor, 6 grandchildren, Taylor, Abby, Carter, Bella and Mattie Holmes, and Ava Allen. Don is also survived by 2 sisters, Wonda Welch and Rhonda Monroe, 3 brothers, Darrell Holmes, Jerry Holmes, and Tracy Holmes along with numerous sisters and brothers-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Junior and Melba Holmes. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Turning Point Church in Vidor.

Margaret Elizabeth Webb

Margaret Elizabeth Webb, age 89, of Warren, Arkansas died Sunday, November 1, at home. She was born June 23, 1926 at Warren, Arkansas a daughter of the late William Brison Norris and Bertha Mae Rauls Norris. She was a retired employee of Jack Winter Company and a retired tomato grader. She was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors are a daughter Brenda Joyce Moore, Vidor Tex; 6 grandchildren Jimmy Moore and spouse Bebee, David Moore, Dana and spouse Mark Arcencaux, Billy and spouse Tina Smith, Chris and spouse Kyra Smith and Kelly and spouse Brad Reynolds; 6 great grandchildren Brandon and spouse Kim Moore, Tanya and spouse Greg Hamilton, Carrie and spouse Billy Knighton, Cody and spouse Lindsay Campbell and Caitlyn Arcencaux; 6 great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 3 husbands W. O. Webb, Henry Arvill McIntyre and Lester Trammell and a daughter Sandra Cheryl Smith. Funeral services to be 10:00 am Friday, November 6, at Frazer’s Chapel.

Randall “Randy” Paul Welch

Randy Welch, 55, of Vidor died Sunday, October 25, 2015. A native of Port Arthur, TX, he was a lifelong resident of Vidor. Graveside services were held at 10:00 am Wednesday, October 28, at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation was at 6:00 pm Tuesday, October 27, at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Randy is survived by his mother Bessie Welch of Vidor, TX, brothers Thomas Welch of Port Arthur, TX, Stephen Welch of Buna, TX, David Welch of Jacksonville, FL, Dennis Welch of Vidor, TX and sister Karen Welch Musick of Vidor, TX.

Lola Dee Myers

Lola Dee Myers, 94, of Refugio died Wednesday, October 28, 2015 in Refugio. She was a native of Batson, and moved to Refugio with her husband in the mid 1970’s. She has been employed as a telephone  witchboard operator, school administrative clerk and at the Refugio County Tax Assessors office. A funeral was held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 1 at Moore Funeral Home. She is survived by her three sons Brian Fillinqirn of Vidor, Gary Myers of Belleville, and Terry Myers of Belleville; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and four greatgreat- grandchildren.

Lelia Block

Lelia Block, 81, died Thursday, October 29, 2015. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2015 at Nederland Apostolic Church,. She is survived by her children, Melvin H. Block of Vidor, Beverly Croft of Vidor, Kevin D. Block of Vidor and Sherry Block of Vidor; brother, Nathan Foreman of Sulphur, LA and five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.

Madie K. Davis

Madie K. Davis, 85, a longtime resident of Vidor, died Tuesday, October 27th, 2015 in Beaumont. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Parker of Katy, TX, 2 brothers, Vonuah Cain of Beaumont and Don Cain of Onalaska, TX, 3 sisters, Melba Gillis of Starks, LA, Joyce Snook of Vidor, and Ragenia Horner of Craig, Alaska, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Madie was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Davis. Visitation will be on Friday, October 30, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a service at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home.
