Mary Jane Harrison

Mary Jane Harrison, 78, of Buda, died Friday, July 13, 2018. She was born on October 3, 1939, in Kirbyville, to Ola Mae Ansley Davis and Carl Henry Davis. Survivors include her children, Madeline Alisip of Conroe; Michael Lynn Harrison and his wife, Margarita, of Kyle; Melinda Leasure and her husband, Luis Vasquez, of Niederwald; Matthew Harrison, Sr. and his wife, Cheryl, of Austin; and Marty Harrison of Buda; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Nita Faye Jones of Silsbee; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary is proceeded in death by her parents; husband of fifty-four years, William Arthur Harrison, Jr.; brother, Billy Davis; and sister, Ramona Shaw. A gathering of Mrs. Harrison’s family and friends began at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.

Wayne Arthur Bowlen

Wayne Arthur Bowlen, 56, of Vidor, Texas passed away July 22nd, 2018 at his residence. Born in Marshall, Missouri (home of Jim the Wonder Dog), Wayne lived in Vidor for 56 years. Wayne worked as a machinist at IDOCO, a mechanic at C&M Auto, a pumper/operator at the Lower Neches Valley Authority, a machinist at Dover Co., and rounded out his career in home health at Home Care Innovations, Inc. Wayne graduated from Vidor School in 1980 and obtained his LVN from Lamar State College - Orange in 1994. Wayne loved nature, was an avid gardener, and loved the Dallas Cowboys. Wayne was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Cremation arrangements were entrusted with Lumberton Family Funeral Home in Lumberton, Texas. There was a Celebration of Life held at Louis Benoit Hall at 3085 Hwy 12, Vidor, TX on Sunday 22nd from 2pm - 7pm.

Alton James Ducote

On Tuesday, July 17th, 2018, Alton James Ducote, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother passed away at the age of 87 years at Oakwood Manner in his hometown of Vidor, Texas. Alton, affectionally known as Gene, will be forever remembered by his loved ones. Gene was an iron worker by trade and a member of the iron worker local union 135. His hobbies included watching westerns on television and enjoying the beach. He would often take drives to Galveston to see the Gulf and Louisiana to visit his family. Gene is survived by his three daughters, Barbara, Betty and Pat and his two sons, Ricky and Terry, his sister, Sybil, grandchildren, Richard, Michelle and Crystal and great-grandchildren, Jalyn, Genson, Connor and Jack. He is preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Joanne and his sons, A.J. and Dale.

Charles Ray Hess Sr.

It is with great sadness that the Hess family announces the passing of Charles Ray Hess Sr., on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at the age of 83. A native of Cameron Texas, and longtime resident of Orange County, Charles was a Commercial Construction Superintendent for over 40 years, and later in life he was a truck driver. More than anything, he loved his family. He also enjoyed drawing, fishing, hunting, a good western movie and a fine cigar. Charles will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 40 years, Brenda, and his children, Charles (Sherry), Christopher (Nancy), Craig (Linda), Clayton (Kasey), Dixie (Ricky).

Larry Scott Jarrell

Larry S. Jarrell, 54 of Vidor died Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, he was a lifelong resident of Vidor. Visitation was held at 12:00 pm and funeral service at 2:00 pm Friday, July 13, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with burial following at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. He is survived by his mother, Helen Jarrell Lazarus of Vidor; brothers, Dennis Jarrell of Vidor, Mike Jarrell of Merryville, LA, Randy Jarrell, Ronald Jarrell and Keevin Jarrell, all of Vidor.

John Thomas Davis

John T. Davis, 86 of Vidor died Monday, July 23, 2018 at his residence. A native of Newton County, he was a longtime resident of Vidor and retired as ship supernatant for Coastal Marine in Port Arthur. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. He is survived by his sons, Kenny Davis of Bridge City and Johnny Davis of McNary, LA; daughters, Sandy Davis of Natchitoches, LA, and Beverly Harron of Forest Hill, LA; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two greatgreat-grandchildren.

William “Paul” Baker

William “Paul” Baker, 68, of Vidor, died Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. He was a longtime resident of Vidor. He is survived by his son, Mike Baker of Baytown; five grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. A memorial will be scheduled at a later time. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

Benjamin Earl Chase

Benjamin Earl Chase, 85, of Vidor, TX died Wednesday, July 18th, 2018 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont, TX. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was in the ROTC at Arlington Junior College. He graduated from LaMarque High School and Lamar University with a B.A. in English and minor in Industrial Engineering. Ben was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Vidor and served as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher, Sunday school Director, and a young married adult teacher. He loved God, family and nature. Visitation was held Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Vidor with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment was held at 3:00 p.m. at Tanner Cemetery in Burkeville, TX.

Delana Kay Galaviz

Delana K. Galaviz, 47 of Vidor died Wednesday, July 11th, 2018 at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont,TX, she was a lifelong resident of Vidor. Delana was a homemaker, a loving wife, daughter, mother and grandmother. Most of all she enjoyed painting rocks and caring for her grandchildren. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home. Delana was preceded in death by mother Mattie Jackson, sister Rhonda Ward, brothers Scott Arthur Brady and Bobby Jackson. She is survived by her husband of 24 years Joseph Galaviz of Vidor, TX, sons Taylor Maxwell and his wife Jennifer of Vidor, TX, Gage Galaviz and his wife Amber of Lumberton, TX, Draven Galaviz and his wife Mitzi of Vidor, TX, father Robert Lee Jackson Sr. of Vidor, TX, brother John T. Brady II and his wife Aileen of Frisco, TX, Jason A.

Charles Ray Hess Sr., 83, died Tuesday, July 17, 2018.
