Gloria Kennedy

Gloria Patricia “Pat” Kennedy, 89, of Vidor, died Thursday, September 14, 2017 in Beaumont. She was a native of Lake Charles, LA. A graveside service was held at 5:30 p.m. at Big Woods/Antioch Cemetery in Edgerly, LA. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Bertrand of Orange; her son, Terry Hanks of Vidor; six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two greatgrea- grandchildren; and an adopted daughter Dorthy Denton.

Donald Lynn Abbott

Donald Lynn Abbott, 71, of Beaumont, died Saturday, September 9, 2017. He was a native of Beaumont, and a veteran of the U.S. Naval Reserve. He was a pipefitter with Local 195 for 15 years before leaving to open Abbott’s Janitorial Service. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Keels Abbott; daughters, Reena Abbott Cook of Independence, KS, and Houston; Sheri Rogers Ford, of Vidor, and Sandra Rogers Griffin of Alamosa, CO; a son, James Wesley Abbott, of Clear Lake; a brother, Dr. James Ron Abbott, of Webster; a sister, Beverly Ann Martinez; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Wayne G uilbeaux

Kenny Wayne Guilbeaux, 55 of Vidor died Sunday, September 17th, 2017 at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, he was a longtime resident of Vidor and retired from Fabricon Fabrication in Beaumont. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with burial to follow at Del-Rose Cemetery in Vidor. He is survived by his wife Seawillow “CeCe” Guilbeaux, sons Michael Rountree, Richard Callahan, Chester Guilbeaux, Kenneth Guilbeaux, Joseph Guilbeaux, Mason Guilbeaux, daughters Rita Guilbeaux and Letia Dyson, brother Ricky Guilbeaux, sister Mary Ann Fountian all of Vidor, and 11 grandchildren.

Margaret Grace Owens

Margaret Grace Owens, 81, of Mauriceville, TX died Saturday, September 9th, 2017 in Round Rock, TX. A native of Henderson, TX and former resident of Vidor, TX Margaret loved going to church and reading her Bible. She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Vidor. Margaret loved spending time with her family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, September 14, 2017 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Friday, September 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Margaret is survived by 4 daughters; Shamsia D. Elliott and her husband Pete of Mauriceville, Sheila Daneshpayeh of Houston, TX, Shahla D. Dabiri and her husband Matt of Driftwood, TX and Shahnaz Daneshpayeh of Kountze, TX. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; A. Jared Dabiri, M.D. of Austin, TX, Courtney Dabiri Askew also of Austin, Shireen Pirtle of Kountze, Charisa Hawkins also of Kountze, Justin J.

Linda Tomlinson

Linda Louise Adams Tomlinson She wasa native of Hattiesburg, MS, but raised in Port Arthur. She was employed by Gulf States Utilities in Beaumont, and retired as a Senior Engineering Assistant. A celebration life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel. A gathering of family and friend will begin a 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Kimble of Port Arthur; granddaughters Sheree Will of Vidor; Brigette Johnson of Buna; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandson.

Barbara Jean Hendry

Barbara Jean Hendry, 83, of Vidor, TX died Sunday, September 10th, 2017 in Beaumont, TX. A native of Sumter, SC she was a longtime resident of Vidor. She graduated from Beaumont H.S. in 1953 and worked in the insurance industry for 45 years. She was a 48 year member of Vidor Chapter # 914 Order of the Eastern Star - being Worthy Matron twice. She held the office of Secretary for over 25 years and was appointed to various Grand Appointments over her years in Eastern Star. She also participated in the Pythian Sisters and the Daughters of the Nile. Barbara was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Vidor and loved to sing in the Senior Adult Choir and travel on the Senior Adult trips all over the U.S. She loved to sew, do crafts, and going to Aggie football games and activities. She was a very proud Aggie MOM! Doing for others was one of her greatest joys.

James “Sarge” Wade Desormeaux

James “Sarge” Wade Desormeaux, 88, of Vidor, TX died Tuesday, September 12th, 2017 at his home. A native of Vinton, LA he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Sarge retired from the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant (SSG) after 21 years and served during WWII and the Korean war. He was awarded 2 Purple Heart medals and the Bronze Star medal. He was a member of the Vidor VFW post 8246 and liked to fish, go crabbing, and doing woodworking. His greatest passion was loving his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with his funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Sarge is survived by 2 daughters; Debra Abshire and her husband Norman and Sandra Wilburn and her husband Keith, 2 sons; Loran Desormeaux and his wife Debbie and Billy Desormeaux and his wife Paula, all of Vidor.

Betty Ann Williamson Carter

Betty A. Williamson Carter, born February 19, 1937, went to be with the Lord Saturday, August 26th, 2017 at the age of 80. She was a longtime resident of Vidor, Texas but was currently living in Beaumont, Texas with her husband. She was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church in Vidor for many years. Mom was a very loving, caring wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved her 5 children very much. Betty was preceded in death by her late husband C.O. “Goober” Williamson. She is survived by her husband Fred Carter, sons Claude “Junior” Williamson and wife Cindy, Clyde “Bubba” Williamson and wife Regana, daughters Theresa Breaux and husband Danny, Claudia Denbow and husband Darron, Margaret Pullen and husband Darren, sister Joyce Guynes and husband James “Bubba”, 17 grandchildren, many many great grandchildren, 3 step children, 4 step grandchildren and 10 step great grandchildren.

Thomas Landry

Thomas Landry was born March 30, 1940 in Loreauville, LA to Alcide Landry and Zeolide Marie Melancon Landry. On September 13, 1961, he married Patsy Guidry in Catahoula, LA. They moved to Marshall in 2011. On October 5, 2014, Patsy preceded him in death. Thomas loved sitting on the back porch watching the flowers grow that his wife had planted. He also loved calling and talking to family and friends and spending time with his grandkids. When he had time, Thomas enjoyed fishing local lakes. Thomas passed away August 29, 2017 at the age of 77. A memorial service will be held at 11:00a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Landry family home place. Surviving Thomas are children, Vicki Guidry and husband Mahlon Guidry, Gary Landry and wife, Marva Landry, Ellie Webb and husband, Chris Webb, and David Landry and wife Sylvia Landry; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and one brother, Kernice Landry and wife Pat of Lumberton, TX.

Jay Alan Golden

Jay A. Golden, 69, of Vidor died Friday, August 25, 2017 at his residence. A native of Columbus, OH, he was a longtime resident of Vidor and was retired from Brown and Root as an electrician. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam Conflict. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2016 at Memorial Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife Reba Golden of Vidor, sons John Golden of Houston, and Jason Golden of Vidor, daughter Amanda Golden of Beaumont, and Camille Willicome of British Columbia, mother Kathleen Golden of FL, sister Paula of FL, step son Arthur Loftin of Denton, and Randy Loftin of Vidor, step daughter Kimberly Campbell of Vidor, one grandson and three step-grandchildren.
