SHIRLEY AUCOIN

Shirley Aucoin, 75, died Sunday, December 28, 2014 in Beaumont. She was a native of Mexia, and worked for many years in the meat department with Weingartens. She also worked with First Federal and Community Banks. Services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Survivors include her daughter, Pam Anderson of Beaumont; two sisters, Carolyn Godeaux of Vidor, and Theresa Lawson of Mesquite; and two granddaughters.

Samuel Lane Russell

Samuel Lane Russell, 84 passed away on Saturday, December 27th, 2014 in Jasper, Texas. He was a longtime resident of Vidor and retired in the Beaumont area after 38 years as a merchandiser for Schenley Distillery. Lane was a member of Maplecrest Baptist Church, an avid sports fan and enjoyed coaching youth in Vidor. Lane is survived by his two sons, Danny Russell and wife Debbie of Kirbyville, and Lindsey Russell and wife Jerri of Vidor. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Holly Russell of Beaumont, Danny Russell of Brooklyn, NY, Laura Russell of Houston, Jennifer Russell and Christopher Russell, both of Vidor, and one great grandchild, Chloe Russell of Vidor. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home.

Connie Faul

Connie Faul, 80, died Monday, December 29, 2014 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor, Texas. Connie was a native of Rayne, Louisiana and was a longtime resident of Vidor, Tx. Connie was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and was a home maker. Visitation will be held at 6:00 P.M. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor and will have a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 1, 2015. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor, Texas. Connie is survived by her sons James and wife Carolyn Faul of Vidor, TX, Ken and wife Ginger Faul of Vidor, TX, Terry and wife Betsy Faul of Evadale, TX; daughter Sharlyn Perry of Vidor, TX; sister Vicki Richard of Vidor, TX; brother Victor Credeur of Rayne, Louisiana; 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Clifford Bubba” Guidry

Clifford “Bubba” Guidry, 67 passed away on Friday, December 26th, 2014 in Beaumont, Texas. He was a longtime resident of Vidor and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber after 30 years. Bubba was a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran and was passionate at restoring old cars and attending antique car shows. He loved to watch NASCAR racing and especially enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends. Bubba is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Guidry. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Martin and her husband Ronnie of New Waverly, TX and brother Wesley Guidry and his companion Krissy Boudreaux of Pt. Neches. Bubba was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon “Tony” and Edith “Boots” Guidry and a brother, Glen Guidry. A visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2014. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

Hermon Allen Barber Sr.

Hermon Barber, Sr., 80, of Vidor died Monday, December 22, 2014 at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. A native of Mt. Hermon, LA, he was a longtime resident of Beaumont, before moving to Vidor in 1983. Hermon was a member of the roofers Local Union #116. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Friday, December 26, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home. Hermon is survived by his sons Hermon Allen Barber Jr., Kenny Ray Barber, Devitt Barber and Jason Barber all of Vidor, TX, brother D. V. Barber of Mt Hermon, LA, 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 4 great great granchildren.

Bill R. Weisman

Bill R. Weisman, 92, passed away at his home in Orange, TX. He was raised on a farm growing up and attended Monett High School. Bill was enlisted in the 203 C.A. AA on September 19, 1940 and was discharged September 19, 1941. He served with the 5th Air Force 348th fighter group in the South Pacific from December 31, 1943 to January 9, 1946. Bill married Lavern Russell on April 15, 1942. He started work at European Import Liquor in Beaumont, TX, later became the manager of Amuny’s liquor stores. He then entered the wholesale liquor with McKesson and Robbins as a sales person and retired in January 1984. Bill and Lavern were owner of Bill’s Burger Barn and Cacey Motel in Vidor, Midway Motel and Midway Gulf in Bridge City, Bill was also owner of B&B Auto with his son Barry in Vidor. Bill was a member of First United Methodist Church in Vidor since June 17, 1951. While he lived in Vidor he was a member of the Vidor Volunteer Fire Department.

Charles “Chuck” W. Hodge

Charles “Chuck” W. Hodge, 78, of Vidor died Monday, December 22, 2014 at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. A native of Huffman, TX, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Chuck retired from Dupont after 45 years and served his country in the US Army. He was a member of Eastgate United Pentecostal Church for many years. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and funeral services will be held at11:00 am Saturday, December  27, 2014 at Eastgate United Pentecostal Church in Vidor. Chuck was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years O.V. Hodge, parents Ed and Corine Hodge, brother Joe Hodge and sister Shirley Wood and her husband EJ. He is survived by his daughter, Ava Dodson, 3 grandchildren, William Roger Dodson, Scott Holden Dodson, Donna Gail Garrett, 4 great grandchildren, 3 Nephews, Joe David Hodge, Gary Hodge, George Bishop, 3 Nieces, Renee Pomonis, Lori Park, Laura Fielding, longtime loving friend and loyal caregiver Janniece Tullos.

LUTHER “SNAKE” WAYNE ANGELO

Luther W. Angelo, 65, of Vidor died Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, he was a longtime resident of Vidor and was a member of the Loggers Association. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont. He is survived by his daughter Tammy Angelo-Edgar and Samantha Herring, son Jerry Angelo all of Vidor, TX, sister Regina Montes of Beaumont, three grandchildren, and his companion Brenda Angelo of Vidor.

WANDA JONES

Wanda Jones, of Evadale, died Thursday, December 18, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. She was a native of Silsbee, and held the position of Silsbee City Secretary for five years. She worked as Evadale ISD bookkeeper for 25 years before retirement. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2014 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following in Morse Cemetery in Buna. She is survived by her husband Jerry Lynn Jones of Evadale; daughter Keisha Christian of Silsbee; four grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers, Billy Berryman of Orange, and Franky Berryman of Baytown. She is also survived by brothers-inlaw Bobby Jones, Jimmy Jones, David Jones, and Linda McMillan.
