Alfred Lloyd “Al” Peveto

Alfred Lloyd Al Peveto, 84, of Vidor, died Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at his residence. A native of Orange, he worked as a rice farmer and then later as a mechanic for the DuPont Beaumont Works Plant where he retired after 31 years of service. He was veteran of the First Marine Division of the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Jett Cemetery in Orange. Military Honors and interment will follow the services. Survivors include his wife, Jeanell Peveto; his daughter, Marty Taylor; his son, Vernon Peveto; his granddaughter, Savannah Peveto; his brother, Ed Peveto; his brother in law, Ken Stephenson; his sister in law, Joyce Chesser. For those who desire memorial donations, please make a donation in memory of Al to the Southeast Texas Veterans Service Group to assists them in honoring our nation’s veterans, Post Office Box 12352, Beaumont, Texas 77702.

Shirley “Kandy” Marie Woods

Kandy M. Woods, 79, of Vidor died Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. A native of Clarksburg, West Virginia, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Kandy attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor and was a homemaker. She worked as an Insurance Adjuster, at Wal-Mart and Country Crafts. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Shirley survived by her daughter Paula Eaves and her husband Randall of Vidor, TX, 1 sister and 2 brothers, grandchildren Nikole Eaves and Jacob Eaves both of Vidor, TX, Justin Y’Barbo of Lufkin, TX, 2 great grandchildren.

LaWanda Ann Burch

LaWanda Ann Burch, 75, died Sunday, January 4, 2015. She was anative of Shelbyville. Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m at Pecan Acres Baptist Church with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. She is survived by her husband George W. Burch, daughters Marci Hinds of Little Cypress, Nanci Green of Orangefield, Lori Hebert of Vidor and Hope Foreman of Vinton, LA. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Thomas Edward Dinkins

Thomas Edward Dinkins, 72, of Beaumont, died Monday, December 29, 2014, at Vidor Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was a native of Little Rock, AR, and was a United States Army veteran. A family graveside service was held at Rosedale Cemetery in Sour Lake under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Survivors include his sons, David Cisneros and Frank Edward Dinkins, both of Austin; and John Raymond Dinkins and James Richard Dinkins, both of Houston; daughters, Cynthia Dinkins and Mary Christina Ramos, both of Beaumont; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Betty Pate.

Aaron L. Jones

Aaron L. Jones, 76, of Nederland, died Tuesday, December 30, 2014. He was a native of Brachfield, and had been a longtime resident of the area. He retired from Huntsman as an operator after 40 years of service. A funeral service was held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Seventh Street Baptist Church, Nederland. Interment was at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Jones of Nederland; son, Dewey Jones of Vidor; daughters, Kay Johnson of Buna and Julie Findlay of Orange; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sisters, Reta Faye Burks of Henderson; Nelda Pool of Groves; Arlene Stockholm of Beaumont; and Dot Newton of Henderson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Jones’ memory to Seventh Street Baptist Church FLC, 200 North 7th Street, Nederland, Texas 77627.

Charles David Barton

Charles David Barton, 64, of Beaumont, died Saturday, January 3, 2015 at his home. A native of Beaumont, he lived in LaBelle for 20 years before moving back to Beaumont. He was a 1969 graduate of South Park High School and attended Lamar University. A carpenter and draftsman by trade, he earned his living designing, building and installing store fixtures for Tri Supply, Seal Manufacturing and Shaffer Manufacturing. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial following at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. He is survived by his daughter, Shawn Bergeron of Vidor; his son, Michael Barton, of Beaumont; and daughter, Angel Giles of Runaway Bay; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson, and his first wife, Fidela Poff.

Johnny Leon McHugh

Johnny L. McHugh, 70, of Vidor died Sunday, January 4, 2015 at his residence. A native of Beaumont, he was raised in Buna and has been a longtime resident of Vidor. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and worked for B & E Resources in Buna for over 20 years. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, January 8, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Vidor. He is survived by his son John McHugh of Colorado Springs, CO, daughter Mary Jean McHugh of New York, NY, step-daughter Shanna Morgan of Louisiana, sister Dianne Allen of Buna, four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.

William “Will” Eldon Bloomer

Will Bloomer, 38, of Vidor died Thursday, January 1st, 2015 in Vidor. A native of New Orleans, LA, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Will is a 1995 Vidor High School graduate and worked for JZR in Port Arthur as a x-ray tech. He served his country in the US Army. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, January 5, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. A visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home. Will is survived by his son Donovan Bloomer, daughter Gwendelynne Bloomer both of Vidor, TX, parents Robert and Sue Bloomer of Orange, TX, brothers Robert Bloomer Jr of Lake Charles, LA, Raymond Bloomer and Keith Bloomer both of Vidor, TX, Woodrow Bloomer of Orange, TX, sisters Linda Ely and Lisa Burnett both of Vidor, TX, numerous niece, nephews, aunts, uncle, cousins, in-laws and friends.

Connie Faul

Connie Faul, 80, died Monday, December 29, 2014 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor, Texas. Connie was a native of Rayne, Louisiana and was a longtime resident of Vidor, Tx. Connie was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and was a home maker. Visitation will be held at 6:00 P.M. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor and will have a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 1, 2015. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor, Texas. Connie is survived by her sons James and wife Carolyn Faul of Vidor, TX, Ken and wife Ginger Faul of Vidor, TX, Terry and wife Betsy Faul of Evadale, TX; daughter Sharlyn Perry of Vidor, TX; sister Vicki Richard of Vidor, TX; brother Victor Credeur of Rayne, Louisiana; 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
