Lola Dee Myers

Lola Dee Myers, 94, of Refugio died Wednesday, October 28, 2015 in Refugio. She was a native of Batson, and moved to Refugio with her husband in the mid 1970’s. She has been employed as a telephone  witchboard operator, school administrative clerk and at the Refugio County Tax Assessors office. A funeral was held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 1 at Moore Funeral Home. She is survived by her three sons Brian Fillinqirn of Vidor, Gary Myers of Belleville, and Terry Myers of Belleville; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and four greatgreat- grandchildren.

Lelia Block

Lelia Block, 81, died Thursday, October 29, 2015. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2015 at Nederland Apostolic Church,. She is survived by her children, Melvin H. Block of Vidor, Beverly Croft of Vidor, Kevin D. Block of Vidor and Sherry Block of Vidor; brother, Nathan Foreman of Sulphur, LA and five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.

Madie K. Davis

Madie K. Davis, 85, a longtime resident of Vidor, died Tuesday, October 27th, 2015 in Beaumont. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Parker of Katy, TX, 2 brothers, Vonuah Cain of Beaumont and Don Cain of Onalaska, TX, 3 sisters, Melba Gillis of Starks, LA, Joyce Snook of Vidor, and Ragenia Horner of Craig, Alaska, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Madie was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Davis. Visitation will be on Friday, October 30, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a service at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home.

Dorris Stinson Jacks

Dorris Stinson Jacks, 77, of Vidor, died Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born on April 27, 1938, in Springhill, to Mary Vallie Grant Stinson and Ocea W. Stinson, and had been a resident of Vidor since 1957. Dorris co-founded Jacks Machine Works with her husband, Morris, in 1974. She became a self-taught bookkeeper and typist. Dorris managed the business records until her husband’s retirement in 1998. A longtime member of Pentecostals of Pines Forest, Vidor; she leaves a legacy of her lifelong Christian faith, her deep love for her family and friends, and her gifts of handmade quilts.

Myrtle Hemmenway Merendino

Myrtle Hemmenway Merendino, 86, died Sunday, October 18th, 2015 in Beaumont, Texas. She was a lifelong resident of Vidor and a member of the Martha White Doll Club of Beaumont for many years. Myrtle was very loving and caring but was an especially dedicated mother, grandmother, great grandmother and greatgreat grandmother and to all who knew her and loved her as well. She will be greatly missed. Myrtle is survived by 2 sons, Raymond Bass and wife Glenda of Vidor, and Daryl Merendino and wife Tana of Orangefield, Texas, and 2 daughters, Emma Nell Bass Levy and husband Marc of Mauriceville, Texas, and Lynnette Bourque Weems of Spring, Texas. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great g randdaughters . Myrtle was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, Frank Merendino, Jr., her parents, siblings and infant daughter, Ida Kathleen. Visitation will be Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Tanner J. Smith

Tanner J. Smith, 5, of Vidor died Sunday, October 18th, 2015 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Tanner was a native of Little Rock, Arkansas and was raised in Lincoln, Arkansas before moving to Vidor, Texas 9 months ago. Tanner attended Vidor Elementary School and loved basketball, monster trucks and Buffalo Wild Wings. Family and his baby sister Tynlea was very important to Tanner, God was his hero. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Turning Point Church in Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Friday, October 23, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

Jamie Reidelberger

Jamie Reidelberger, 57, of Vidor died Tuesday, October 20th, 2015 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, she was a lifelong resident of Vidor. Jamie was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church in Vidor and was a manager for Fast Lane Convenient Stores. She was a 1976 Vidor High School Graduate. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home  of Vidor, with cremation to follow. A visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Friday, October 23, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home. Jamie was preceded in death by her husband Kirk Reidelberger, father James Otis Jones Sr and brother James Otis Jones Jr.. She is survived by her mother Mary jones of Vidor, TX, brother Glen Jones of Groves, TX and sister Blendia Arrington  of Orange, TX, aunt, uncle and several nieces and nephews

Ethel Louise Wright Smith

Ethel Louise Wright Smith, 84, died Friday, October 16th, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong resident of Vidor who enjoyed going camping, reading, doing crossword puzzles and making a home for her family but she especially loved to spend quality, loving time with her grandsons. Ethel is survived by 2 sons, James Smith, Jr. and wife Becky, Gary Smith and wife Karon, 2 grandsons, James Smith III and wife Susan and Justin Smith and wife Jennifer all of Vidor. She is also survived by 2 great grandchildren, Jacob and Annabelle Smith and a brother, James Wright of Cheek, TX. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, James “J.D.” Smith, Sr., 3 sisters and 6 brothers. A rosary service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2015 with visitation to follow from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.
