Steven Carter

Granville Steven Carter, 61, of Beaumont died Tuesday May 12, 2015.He served his country  in the U.S. Army. Heworked as an a. c. tech. His family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday May 14, 2015 at Lakeside Cemetery in Town Bluff He is survived by his mother, Margie Lichenstein of Warren; fiancee, Deborah Lopez  of China; children,Mandy Jones of Beaumont,  Misty Carter of Vidor and Billy Carter of Vidor; brothers, Jerry Carter of Warren and Johnny Carter of China; and two grandchildren.

JUANITA MYERS

Juanita K. Myers, 84, of Orangefield,  died Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.  Funeral services  were held 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 8, 2015, at Claybar Funeral Homein Bridge City. Burial  followed at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in  Bridge City. A native of Hackberry,  LA, on June 20, 1930, she was the daughter of Landry  Kibodeaux and AzelieNewman Kibodeaux.  She attended St. Helen’s Catholic Church and loved visiting First Baptist Church in Orangefield. She is survived by her husband, Clevan J. Myers, Sr.; children, Clevan (Butch) Myers, Curley Myers, Rolan  Myers Sr., Regina Myers, Pat Park, Vivian Myers, Belinda Nunez, Leisha Myers,  Sheri Huckaby, Stephanie  Williams, Sabrina  Myers and Jennifer Burns all of Orangefield;  12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bridge City State Bank, Account# 14190420. Reference the Juanita  Myers Scholarship Fund.

DONALD DEAN “DONNIE” KENDRICK

Donald Dean “Donnie” Kendrick, 82, of Nederland, formerly  of Lumberton, died Thursday, May 7, 2015, at his home. He was a native of  Beaumont, and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He  worked for what was then Eastex Paper Mill  in Evadale, until his retirement in 1994.  His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 12,  2015, at Broussard’s, Nederland, with his interment to follow at  Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.  He is survived by his wife, Ann Templeton  Kendrick, his sons, Kenneth Kendrick of Mobile, AL, and Jack  Kendrick of Zavalla;  daughters, Molly Freeman of Vidor andKathy Sandoz of Nederland;eight grandchildren;  and sister, Jo  Ann Jackson, of Lumberton. In lieu of flowers,donations may be made  to American Cancer Society , 755 South  11th Street, Suite 212, Beaumont, Texas 77701.

SJ IRVING PHILLIPS

SJ Phillips, 87, of Vidor died Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at his  residence. A native of Merryville, LA, he was a longtime resident of  Vidor and retired as asupervisor from Mobil  Chemical in Beaumont after 42 years and was a member of AFLCIO local union. He was aWWII veteran of the US Navy. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m.  Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial following at Kirbyville City Cemetery in Kirbyville, at 4:00 p.m.  He is survived by his sons Steve J. Phillips  of Breaux Bridge, LA, Paul D. Phillips of Vidor, brothers Roy  Phillips of Kirbyville, and Lawrence Skipper Phillips of Lumberton,  daughter-in-law Beth Phillips of Vidor,  12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild.

JIMMY OKUN

Jimmy Alvin Okun, Jr., 59, of Evadale died Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Health South Rehabilitation Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, he was a lifelong resident of Evadale andwas a Tugboat Captain. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m.Saturday, May 9, at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Buna with burial at Morse Cemetery.He is survived by is wife, Janet Okun ofEvadale; father, Jimmy Okum, Sr. of Vidor;daughters, Lori Johnson of Evadale and  Christina Botley ofSilsbee; brother, Loe  Scott Okun of Buna;sister, Georgie Okun of Kirbyville; and six grandchildren.

Lindsay Nicole Kilmer

Lindsay Nicole Kilmer, 32 a lifelong resident of Vidor, died Thursday, April 30th, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She liked to read, traveling and doing all sorts of crafts, but she especially loved to spend quality time with her family and friends. Lindsay worked as a Radiology Tech and earned her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the University of Ottowa in Kansas. She is survived by her husband, Trey Kilmer, son, Hayden, parents, Cindy and Keith Anderson of Vidor, sister, Brooke Anderson of Vidor, grandparents, Andy and Betty Anderson of Vidor, 3 nephews and 3 nieces. Lindsay was preceded in death by her grandmother, Glenda “MiMi” Detweiler. Visitation will be on Saturday, May 2, 2015 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Pine Forest Baptist Church in Vidor. Services will be on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Pine Forest Baptist Church with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.

Betty Jean Singletary

Betty Jean Singletary, 87, of Benton, Ark. died Saturday, May 2 after a brief illness. Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Vidor with visitation Friday evening at Vidor Memorial Funeral home. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Earl Singletary. She was a lifelong resident of Vidor, moving to Arkansas last year as a resident of Mt. Carmel Assisted Living Center. She is also survived by two sons, Dennis and his wife Eva, of Benton and Mark of Gainesville, FL. Betty was a wonderful grandmother to eight grandchildren and now 13 great-grandchildren.

Jerry Dan “Danny“ Mizell passed from Earth to start his Eternal Life on Sunday, May 3rd, 2015. He was a kind and loving man. He worshipped his true and living God at Eastgate United Pentecostal Church. He was preceded in death by his son Donnie Steven Mizell, his father Johnnie L Mahfouz, sisters Sherry Lynn Mizell, Gin Buller and brother James Steven Mahfouz. Danny is survived by a daughter Patricia Mizell Wright and step daughter Brittney Olsen, his mother Aileen Mahfouz, grandmother Margaret Harvey, sister Kathleen Cryer, half sister Lisa Mizell, all of Vidor, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by the love of his life and mother of his children Kathlene Harrison Mizell. Danny was blessed with ight wonderful grand children Alissa Mizell from Orangefield TX, Zack Parker from New Caney, TX. Clayton Mizell from Orange TX, Christian Wright, Dillion Wright, Jade Wright , Brayden Wright and Ayden Adams all of Vidor.

Mr. William R. Fair

Mr. William R. Fair passed away on April 3, 2015 at Grace Home Hospice in Shreveport, LA. Born March 1, 1928 in Haynesville, LA he spent his early life in El Dorado, AR and later lived in Opelousas and Cut Off, LA. He was recently moved to Shreveport from Vidor, Texas where he retired from Texas Eastern Pipeline, a company for which he had worked 40 years. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Bettie Parks Fair, recently moved to Shreveport, his daughter Joy Fair Ratcliff of Shreveport, his son William Robert Fair, Jr. “Bobby” of Anderson, Texas, sonin- law John G. Ratcliff, Shreveport, daughterin- law, Lavonne Smith Fair, Anderson, three grandchildren, William Robert Fair III, “Billy” and spouse, Madeline H.Fair, College Station, TX, Thomas Kalford Ratcliff, Jackson, MS, Mary Melane Fair, College Station and one great grandchild, Emma Lynn Fair, College Station. Mr. Fair leaves many friends to grieve his loss.
