Samuel “Sam” Clark Hoyt

Samuel “Sam” C. Hoyt, 75, of Vidor died Sunday, May 17, 2015 at  is residence. A native of Weeks Island, LA, he was a longtime resident of Vidor and was in construction. He was a veteran of the US Navy. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Eastgate United Pentecostal Church in Vidor. He is survived by his wife Virginia Hoyt of Vidor, daughter Robyn Bertrand of Vidor, sister Johnnie Reeves of Opelousas, LA, brother  Lonnie Hoyt of Vidor, step-mother Cecelia grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Reverend R.N. Davis

Reverend R.N. Davis, Sr. 90, of Trinity, TX died Thursday, May 14th, 2015 at his residence. He was a former resident ofVidor for 31 years and  was the founder of TheChurch of God in Vidor. Brother Davis served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Pipefitters Local 195. As a pastor, “Brother Bob” taught everyone how to love even at times when it was difficult to love and all who knew him knew of his great faith with God. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather, a great provider and friend to all, and will be greatly missed. Brother Davis is survived by 3 daughters, Peggy Nicholds and Sandra Farris, both of Trinity, TX and Charlotte Hodges and husband Stephen of Beaumont, 2 sons, Robert Nolan Davis, Jr. and wife Cindy of Humble, TX and Timothy Davis and wife Kim of The Woodlands, TX, 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and a sister, Billie Watson of Texarkana, TX.

Carol Ann Garner

Carol Ann Garner,56 of Humble, TX and former resident of  idor, died Sunday, May 17th, 2015 in Humble. She enjoyed attending church, cooking, going to casinos and listening to country music. Carol was a caring and loving mother, grandmother and a friend to all. She is survived by a daughter, Christin Williamson and husband Les of Vidor, and son, JamesGriggs and wife Brandi of Bridge City. Carol is also survived by a step son, Daniel Smith of Humble, and her loving friends Donald and Annie Hester of Houston. She was preceded it death by her parents, J.W. Carroll and Margaret Louise Carroll of Hitchcock, TX. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home

Media Boswell

Media Boswell, 94, of Vidor died Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas in Beaumont, TX. A native of Noble, LA, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Media was a Secretary with American National Insurance company for many years and was a homemaker in the later years of her life. She was a member of Maple Crest Baptist Church in Vidor. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, May 23, 2015at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Friday, May 22, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Media is survived by her daughter Gwen Argo and her husband Mike of Bryan, TX, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Boswell, 5 sisters and 3 brothers

Ida “Tiny” M ae Derise

Ida Mae Derise, 59, of Orange died Tuesday,  y 19th, 2015 at UTMB in Galveston. A native of Beaumont, she was a longtime resident of Vidor before moving to Orange recently. She was a homemaker. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 25, 2015 at Old Faith Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter Deana Finley of Hattiesburg, MS, sons Damian Finley of Orange, Devon Finley of Vidor, and nine grandchildren.

Chad Shofner

Chad Nicholas Shofner, 35, of Buna has died. A native of Jasper, he was a longtime resident of Buna. He worked for United Rentals as a mechanic. Funeral services willbe 10:00 a.m. Wednesday,  ay 20, 2015 at Smith Funeral Home with interment to follow at Ford Cemetery in Newton. Survivors include his father and step-mother Donnie and Debbie Shofner of Newton; mother Tama Washere of Waco; wife Lena Shofner of Evadale; sons Blain and Brock Shofner of Evadale; brother Bryan Shofner of Lumberton; three step-sisters Michelle Wilkerson, Gayla Wilkerson, and Ann Wilkerson all of Newton.

Ruby Gertheen McNeely Stephenson

Ruby Gertheen McNeely Stephenson, 88, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, May 13, 2015. She was a native of  Village Mills, she had been a longtime resident of the area and was a homemaker, and later retired from the nutrition department with Beaumont Independent School District. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Broussard’s, Beaumont, with her interment following at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont. She is survived by her sons, Jerry Stephenson and William Stephenson both of Vidor; seven grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Dan Gillies

Dan Gillies, 60, of Vido died Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at UTMB Hospital Galveston, Texas. A native of Battle Creek, MI, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Dan was the seniorequipment operator  for Lamar College PortArthur for the past 14 years. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 1:30 pm at his residence. Dan is survived by his wife Debbie Gillies of Vidor, TX, sons Derrick Lee Gillies of Vidor, TX, Daniel Lloyd Gillies and his wife Keri of Vidor, TX, daughter Denise K. Vaughn and her husband David of Orange, TX, father Richard Gillies of Battle Creek, MI, brothers Mark Gillies of Battle Creek, MI, and Tim Gillies Union City, MI, 5 grandchildren Libbie, Vivien, Holden, Daegan and Makena. He was preceded in death by his mother Joyce Gillies and brother Alan Gillies.

Tommy edward Fuller, 63, of Hemphill  died Thursday, May 7, 2015 Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas. He was a native of Beaumont and a longtime resident of Hemphill. He worked as a forge shop supervisor for Western of Texas. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Farmer Funeral Home. Survivors include wife Judy Fuller; sons James E. McKenzie of Lumberton, Johnny McKenzie of Lumberton; daughter Tina Taylor also of Lumberton; brother Johnny Fuller of Vidor; sisters Peggy Fuller of North Dakota, Linda Coffey of Port Arthur; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren

Randolph Ellis “T” Leger

Leger, 95, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. He was a native of LaBelle. His funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 15, 2015, at Broussard’s, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont. Survivors include his daughters, Darlice Allemond of China; Brenda Marcus of Sour Lake; and Glenda Thompson of Beaumont; son, Leroy  Leger of Vidor; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren
