David Wayne Sanders

David Wayne Sanders, 60, of Vidor, Texas passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. He was a lifelong resident of Vidor as well as a talented carpenter and loving family man. Those who knew him loved him and his generosity to those in need. David was an avid fisherman and hunter. David’s greatest joys in life were his grandchildren. His greatest treasures in life were his family and his lilies. David is survived by his wife Cindy of 40 yrs, his son Jeremy and wife Amy Sanders, daughters Krisha and Rebekah Sanders, mother Jean Sanders, brothers Alton & Jimmy Sanders, sister Karolyn Carpenter, nine grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A memorial will be held April 11, 2015 at Faith Tabernacle Church 10169 Hwy 69 Nederland Texas from 2-5 pm. Franklin Delano Zerko, Sr.

Franklin Delano Zerko, Sr., 75, of Orange, passed away on March 15, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2015, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Pastor Damon Bickham of First Baptist Church in Deweyville. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange. Born in Colgate, Oklahoma, on June 24, 1939, but has resided in Orange since 1942. Frank was a member of Old First Orange Baptist Church and Pipefitters Local #195. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1963-1965. He is preceded in death by his parents, Peter Paul and Dovie Elizabeth (Prince) Zerko; brothers, James Zerko and Pete Zerko. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy E. (Hobbs) Zerko of Orange; sons, Franklin “Del” Zerko, Jr.

Isaac E. “Ike” Hillebrandt, Sr.

Isaac E. “Ike” Hillebrandt, Sr., 97, a previous resident of Beaumont and longtime resident of Vidor died on Monday, March 16th, 2015 in Beaumont. The Hillebrandt Bayou was named after his family which was one of the earliest settlers of Jefferson County. Ike liked gardening and raising cattle but especially loved spending quality time with his family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a charter member of Turning Point Church in Vidor. Ike is survived by his 3 daughters, Lou Kirkland and husband Steve, Sandra Jones Paskell and husband Fred and Ruby Richardson, all of Vidor. He is also survived by his son, Isaac “Ikey” Hillebrandt, Jr., 15 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Annie May Salles and Margaret Barnes, both of Beaumont, and Olivia Holt of Buna.

Mary Ann Hollingsworth

Mary Ann Hollingsworth, 69, of Vidor, Texas passed away March 12, 2015. She was born in DeQuincy, LA on September 10, 1945. She moved to Vidor when she was about four where she remained most of her life. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing, gardening, cooking and going to the beach. She also enjoyed playing games with her family and friends. She was always active and especially loved being by the water. She loved music, especially cajun music! She was preceded in death by her parents, Mamie and Elmer Hollingsworth; sister, Margaret Simmons. Survived by: son, Richard Brister and partner, Dawn Cockerham; daughter Rhonda Powell and husband, Bo; son Edward Brister and partner, Clif Rice. Her brother, Donald Hollingsworth and wife, Carol. Her nieces; Sharon Ivy and Sheila West; and nephews; Kevin and Randy Hollingsworth and their families. Her step-children; Cliff Rushing, Charlotte Rodriguez and husband, William, and Jimmy Doyle Rushing.

Judy Jarrell

Judy Jarrell, 65, of Vidor, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015. She was a member of Vidor Methodist Church. She loved her home, home making, children and grandchildren were her life. She loved life. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Kenneth Jarrell of Vidor; daughter, Shawna Daniel Jarrell of Mauriceville; 3 brothers; 4 sisters and 5 grandchildren. Her family will receive friends at Lumberton Family Funeral Home on Saturday March 21, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Sunday at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor, officiated by Reverend Tommy Smith. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S. Main Street, Lumberton, TX.

MICHAEL WAYNE “MULE” JOHNSON

Michael Wayne “Mule” Johnson, 52, died Friday, March 13, 2015. He was a native of Port Arthur, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. He was an instrument technician at Motiva. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with his memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Broussard’s, Nederland. A family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium at a later date. He is survived by his mother, Mary D. Johnson of Nederland; sister, Jennifer Ann Johnson of Nederland; brothers, Ben Riley Johnson of Buna and David Johnson of Vidor. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society , P.O.
