Bessie Steele

Bessie Rae Steele, 94, a resident of Calder Woods Assisted Living facility in Beaumont, died Friday, May 29, 2015 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. A longtime resident of Beaumont and formerly of Vidor, she had retired from her earlier employment as a recording clerk in the office of the County Clerk of Jefferson County. A memorial service celebrating her life was held Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of First United Methodist Church, Beaumont.

Aline Bergeron

Aline carrr awa y Bergeron, 74, of Vidor died Sunday, May 31, 2015, in Beaumont. She was a native of Houston, she lived in Vidor for 43 years. A funeral service willbe held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with burial following at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, both in Beaumont.Survivors include her  daughters Kathy Ellisand Rita Goodwin; sons Wesley Bergeron, Sr., and Darren Bergeron both of Vidor; and Webster Bergeron, Jr. (Web) of Port Acres, her brothers Ely Carraway of Kirbyville, and George Chambers of California; her sister, Rita Schmidt of Mesa, AZ; 18 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity of choice in Mrs. Bergeron’s honor.

Calvin Cryer

77, of Wildwood, died Wednesday, May 27, 2015. He was a native of Zavalla, and a veteran of he United States Army National Reserve. He later worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was co-owner of Cryer Construction. His funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, May 31, 2015, at Wildwood Baptist Church, Village Mills, under the direction of Broussard’s, Silsbee. His interment followed at Village Mills Cemetery, Village Mills. Survivors include his wife, Gina Cryer; children, Calvin M. Cryer, III of Hardin; Missy Cryer Ballard of Evadale; Melinda Strnard of Arkansas; Melanie Jones of Granbury; and Megan Mayeux of Arkansas; 15 grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; brother, George Cryer of Zavalla; and sister, Raynell Sansom of Gilmer. Memorial contributions in Mr. Cryer’s name can be made to Wildwood Fire Department, P.O. Box 172, Village Mills, Texas 77663

Roy Mott

Roy Irvin Mott, 74, lifetime resident of East Texas, died Monday,  ay 25, 2015 at Tyler  ounty Hospital in  Woodville. He was a native of Spurger, and was a longtime barber in Tyler County before retiring from Central Freight Lines after 28 years of service and Texas Department of Criminal Justice after 11 years of service. funeral services were held Friday, May 29, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with burial in Beech Creek Cemetery in Spurger. He is survived by his wife, Judy Mott of Woodville; sons, Billy Roy Mott of Spurger, Gary McCoy of Woodville, Steven McCoy of Woodville; daughters, Debra Ann Grant of Spurger, Susan Carnley of Warren; brothers, Kozum Earl Mott, Marvin Mott, and Jimmie Mott, all of Spurger;  sisters, Ruth Powell of Woodville, Dottie Reider of Woodville and Muriel Wilson of Vidor, and Alvina Means of  Spurger; nine grandchildren;and seven greatgrandchildren.
