Milton Crawford

Milton Crawford, 73, of Vidor, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. He was humorous, loving and caring. He always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger. He adored his wife and accepted her children as his own. He was a wonderful man. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Rowena Crawford; sister, Fay Buckhalter and  brother, Donald Wayne Crawford. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Jeanette Crawford of Vidor; sons, Curtis Bowman of Vidor, Keith Bowman and wife Jenna of Lumberton;  daughter, Phyllis  Bowman of Vidor; siblings, Billy Crawford, Michael Crawford, Carolyn Quigley and Margaret Ann Devall and four grandchildren, Lacie Bowman, Angel Odom, Brent Strother and Amanda Strother. His family will receive friends at Lumberton Family Funeral Home on Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Iley Max “Red” Oxley

Iley Max “Red” Oxley, 77, of Vidor died Thursday, October 8th, 2015 at his residence after a short battle with cancer. A native of Kurthwood, Louisiana, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Max worked at the Evadale Paper Mill from 1967 - 2003 when he retired. He was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church. Max’s interest were woodworking, basketball, baseball, bowling, gardening and coaching kids baseball. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, October 16, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home.

Virginia Ruth Barnett

Virginia Ruth Barnett, 80 of Vidor, Texas passed away on October 10, 2015 in Beaumont, Texas. She was born on July 25, 1935 in Houston, Texas to the late James Loly Brazzil and Ann Oleta Waters  Brazzil. Virginia is survived by her husband, James E. Barnett of Vidor, Texas; sons, James R. Barnett, Sr. and wife Nina of Alvin, Texas, Donald E. Barnett and wife Carolyn of Vidor, Texas, John K. Barnett and wife Theresa of Midlothian, Texas and Robert M. Barnett and wife Connie of Vidor, Texas; daughter, Patricia Attaway and husband Jay of Vidor, Texas; grandchildren, Aaron Barnett, Ryan Barnett, Lisa Jones, Cody Barnett, Brandon Barnett, Taylor Barnett, Gregory Barnett and James Neathery; three great-grandchildren; nephews, Clay and Jason Brazzil. Virginia is preceded in death by her brother, James Clayton Brazzil and her grandson, James Ray Barnett, Jr. Virginia’s family will receive friends from 5:00p.m. - 8:00p.m.

W.B. “Bill” Yarbrough

W.B. “Bill” Yarbrough, 84, died Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. He was a native of Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 16,2015 at Claybar Funeral Home in Beaumont. Interment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery in Vidor. He is survived by his daughters, Connie Beaumont of Pearland, Mary Ann Jones of Virginia, and Mary Frances Wilson of Vidor; sister, Maxine Cooper Laird; sister-in-law, Dorothy Yarbrough; six grandchildren; and 12 greatgrandchildren

Debra R. Cornett Rogers

Debra R. Cornett Rogers, 62, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, October 13, 2015. She is survived by her sons, Robert P. Bailey of Beaumont and Tommy Trahan of Beaumont; brother, Danny Cornett of Vidor; sister, Tammy Singletary of Beaumont; and nine grandchildren. A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday October 16, 2015 at Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont. Imogene “Jean” McGann

Imogene “Jean” McGann, 96, passed away at Hospice Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. She was born December 25, 1918, in Douglas, Texas to Earley Moore and Carra Stokes Moore. She had previously lived in Vidor, TX., since 1930, but in recent years had lived in Beaumont, TX.. She and her husband J.B. “Mac” McGann had also maintained a home at Crystal Beach for many years. She was a 1936 graduate  of Vidor High School and a member of the Beaumont Seventh Day Adventist Church. Imogene is survived by one daughter Lynda LeBlanc and husband Jimmy of Nederland, TX., grandchildren Jeffery Elliott and wife Lorry of Beaumont, TX., Laura Elliott Tamplin of Vidor, TX., great grandchildren T.K. Tamplin, Colin Tamplin, Melissa Elliott and Ian Elliott all of Vidor, TX., and one great great grandchild Evan, also sister Geneva Erwin of Vidor. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband J.B. “Mac” McGann, also sisters Mildred Farris, Dorothy Packard and Mary Moore and a brother Murphy Moore.

Virginia Ruth Barnett

Virginia Ruth Barnett, 80 of Vidor, Texas passed away on October 10, 2015 in Beaumont, Texas. Gertrude Philp

Gertrude Philp, 93, died Wednesday, October 7, 2015, in Fort Worth. A native of Port Arthur, Beaumont is where she established roots, and worked as a substitute teacher for South Park ISD for 25 years. A graveside service was held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, Beaumont. Survivors include her brother, Roy Ballard of Vidor; children, Joy Lott, of Fort Worth; Gayle Benson of Magnolia; and Jimmy Philp of Arlington; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored by memorial donations to Nutrition and Services for Seniors, Attn: Executive Director, 4590 Concord, Beaumont, Texas 77703.
