Dorothy “Mawmaw Dot” Jean Stidivent

Mawmaw Dot, 79 of Vidor died Monday, February 12th, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A native of Eunice, LA, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Mawmaw Dot was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor and the Ladies Auxiliary for Vidor Volunteer Fire Department. She was a homemaker and a wonderful cook. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm and a rosary at 7:00 pm Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Oak Grove Bible Baptist Church in Hornbeck, Louisiana. Mawmaw Dot was preceded in death by her daughter Catherine Jane Williams and father Isaac Brown, Sr. She is survived by her husband of 61 years Huey Stidivent of Vidor, TX, son Stephen Stidivent and his wife Paula of Vidor, TX, daughter Julie McDaniel and her husband James of Sour Lake, TX, brother Isaac Brown Jr.

Donald “Don” Roy Smith, Sr.

Donald “Don” Roy Smith, Sr. 77, of Vidor, TX died Wednesday, February 14th, 2018 in Pt. Arthur, TX. A native of Shreveport, LA he enjoyed going to the casinos, especially Delta Downs. Don liked taking care of others when needed but he especially loved to take care of his grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, February 16, 2018 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Don is survived by his loving wife Patricia Smith of 36 years, 6 sons; Donald Roy Smith Jr. of Beaumont, Kelly Smith of Michigan, Chris Smith and his wife Tarra of High Island, TX, Stephen Smith and his wife Laura of Nederland, TX, Joey Johnson and his wife Jennifer of Vidor, and Cory Johnson also of Vidor. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 1 brother; Wallace Smith of Vidor and1 sister; Dorothy Mitchell of Vidor.

Allen Joseph DeCuir Sr.

Allen Joseph DeCuir, Sr., 91, of Groves, died Wedneday, February 14, 2018, in Port Arthur. A native of Loreauville, LA, he worked as an electrical supervisor for Texaco in Port Arthur where he retired in 1982. He was a WWII veteran of the US Navy. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 19, 2018, at St. Henry Catholic Church, Bridge City. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his wife, Shirley DeCuir; children, Rocky DeCuir, of Bridge City, Chad T. DeCuir of Sugarland, Keith W. DeCuir of Mauriceville, and Todd E. DeCuir of Fulshear; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his brother, Charles Edward, of Port Arthur.

William Robert “Bobby” Bryant Jr.

Bobby Bryant, 44, of Bridge City died Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Port Arthur, he was a resident of Bridge City and was an IT Tech in the Computer Technology field. He graduated from PNG High School in 1992 and received his BS degree in Computer Systems from Southwest Texas University. Funeral services will begin at 2:22 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Turning Point Church with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. He is survived by his wife Tishy Bryant of Bridge City; daughter Brianna Nicole Bryant of Bridge City; father and step-mother Bob and Cheryl of Nederland; mother and step-father, Cindy and Dave Winfrey of Vidor; and brothers, Brad Bryant and Chad Bryant, both of Nederland, and Robert Herring of Fannett. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Gulf Credit Union for his daughters college fund.

Paul Courmier, 59 of Vidor died Sunday, February 18, 2018 in Beaumont. He was a longtime resident of Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Bland Cemetery in Orange. He is survived by his son Paul Wayne Courmier, Jr. of Vidor; sister, Donna Courmier of San Marcus; brother, David Lamberth of Pickings, SC; and two grandchildren.

Julius LeDoux, Sr.

Julius “Vick” LeDoux, Sr., 87, of Orangefield, Texas, passed away on February 7, 2018. Vick is survived by his loving wife, Patricia LeDoux, of Vidor; brother, Ronald “Rollo” LeDoux and wife Wanda, of Orangefield; children, Vickie Scales and husband Edward, of Orangefield, Tina Wise and husband Clay, of Mauriceville, Rebecca Ledford and husband Larry, of Orangefield, Julius LeDoux, Jr. and wife Diane, of Little Cypress, and Rose Marie Philpott, of Oklahoma; stepchildren, Tammy Reid, of Vidor, Chris Reid and wife Julie, of Vidor; along with many wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren to remember him dearly. Vick was born in Basile, Louisiana on January 11, 1931, to Alexon LeDoux and Edna (Fusilier) LeDoux. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, 101st Airborne Division and The Screaming Eagles. Vick retired from Pipefitters Local 195 and Boilermakers Local 587 after many loyal years.

Lavern Bozeman, 72 of Vidor died Friday, February 9th, 2018 at Baptist Hospitals of Texas in Beaumont. Lavern was a native and lifelong resident of Vidor. She was a homemaker. Visitation began at 6:00 pm Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Graveside services were held at 2:00 pm Monday, February 12, 2018 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Lavern was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Opal Bozeman, sister Genevieve Richard and brother Fred Allen Bozeman. She is survived by her siblings James Bozeman and his wife Joyce of Vidor, TX, Margaret Bozeman Shanks of Dayton, TX, and Barbara Portie of Tomball, TX.

Ruth Louise Clark

Ruth Louise Clark, 83, of Starks, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Westwood Manor Nursing Home in DeRidder surrounded by Jasmyn Gray and Tania Gray. She was born to parents, Frank and Grace Gibson in Starks, LA on May 6, 1934. She worked for many years at Southwestern Bell in Beaumont, TX. She was proud of her grandchildren and loved them very much. She is survived by her daughter, Tania Gray; one brother, Dennis Gibson; one sister, Betty West, all of Starks; two grandsons, Justin Gray, Derek Gray; along with five great grandchildren, Jasmyn Gray, Josselynn Gray, Jassidy Gray, Dysin Gray, and Trystin Gray, all of Vidor, TX. Ruth is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ray Clark; her parents; two brothers, Kenneth Gibson, Shorty Gibson; five sisters, Billie Hyatt, Edna Dean, Margaret Martinez, Mary Lucille Barnes, and Ann “Pee Wee” Marbell Weider.
