Layton “Butch” Earl Lockett, Jr.

Butch Lockett, 71, of Vidor died Thursday, May 21, 2015 in Vidor. A native of Sioux City, IA, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. He worked for the Department of Public Safety in Alaska for 10 years and was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015 He is survived by his son Mark Lockett of Katy, Donnie Lockett of Little Rock, AR, daughter Lisa Lockett of Katy, brother Bruce Lockett of Vidor, sister Carol Colbert of Magnolia, and five grandchildren.

Carol Ann Garner

 Carol Ann Garner, 56 of Humble, TX and former resident of Vidor, died Sunday, May 17th, 2015 in Humble. She enjoyed attending church, cooking, going to casinos and listening to country music. Carol was a caring and loving mother, grandmother and a friend to all. She is  survived by a daughter,Christin Williamson and husband Les of Vidor, and son, James Griggs and wife Brandi of Bridge City. Carol is also survived by a step son, Daniel Smith of Humble, and her loving friends Donald and Annie Hester of Houston. She was preceded it death by her parents, J.W. Carroll and Margaret Louise Carroll of Hitchcock, TX. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home

Media Boswell

 Media Boswell, 94, of Vidor died Wednesday,  ay 20, 2015 at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas in Beaumont, TX. A native of Noble, LA, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Mediawas a Secretary with American National Insurance company for many years and was a homemaker in the later years of her life. She was a member of Maple Crest Baptist Church in Vidor. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Friday, May 22, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Media is survived by her daughter Gwen Argo and her husband Mike of Bryan, TX, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Boswell, 5 sisters and 3 brothers.

Henrietta H. Smith

 Henrietta H. Smith passed away Sunday, May 24th, 2015 at 1:05p.m.. Born April 27, 1935 in West Lake, LA to parents Henry Hafer and EPauline VincentHafer. Henrietta had 4 children, the oldest son Earl H. Johns-passed away October 2002, daughters Marla D. Cherry and husband Mike Cherry of Kountze, TX & Vonda L. Nelson and Gary Black of Vidor, TX & son Tally K. Johns of Longville, LA. Her husband of 41 years, Wallace Smith had 2 children, Ginny Cooper passed away February 2010 and Kathy “KC” Singleton of Las Vegas, NV. Between them they have 16 grandchildren, 3 deceased, 27 great grandchildren and 2 great great g r a n d c h i l d r e n . Henrietta was a graduate of Westlake High School class of 1954. April 1974 Wallace brought Henri, his best friend and who would continue to be for 41 years to Vidor, Texas where she slowly became a Texan, well almost!

 Earl Andrews, 84, of Vidor died Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Silsbee Oaks Nursing Home. A native of High Island,TX, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Earl was the past pastor of Fannett gospel tabernacle over 15 years in Fannett, TX. He was the past District S u p e r i n t e n d e n t of Church of God. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.Earl was preceded in death by his wife Betty Andrews. He is survived by his daughter Cathy Schexnider of Lumberton, TX, sister Betty Wall of Friendswood, TX, 1 grandchild and 3 great grandchildren

Tennie Lucille Erskine Henley Webster

 Tennie Lucille Erskine Henley Webster went home on May 22, 2015. Tennie was born anuary 10, 1925 to Robert R. and Mary Tennessee Erskine. She spent her childhood in Odds, Texas. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Barney R. Henley Sr., son Joseph David Henley, daughter Kathleen Hayslip, second husband Carl Webster, and grandson JosephRead Henley. Tennie is survived by her sister Bobbie Muhlinghause of Groesbeck, Texas, daughter Barbara Carr and husband Robert of Silver City, New Mexico, son Robert L. Henley Sr. and wife Diane of Pasadena, Texas, son Barney R. Henley, Jr. and wife Kay of Pasadena, Texas. Grandchildren, Sandi Whiteman and husband Mike, Jamie Hayslip, Jacob Henley, Brooke Terrell and husband Ryan, Robert L. Henley, Jr., Kathryn Hoffpauir and husband Chad. Greatgrandchildren Chelsea Flack and husband Jason, Alex Read, Sara Smith and husband Kole, Mason Kirschner, Kaedence Henley, Savannah Henley, Rhett Terrell, Caleb Hoffpauir, and Brynnley Terrell.

Harold Eugene Simonetti

Harold Eugene Simonetti, 63, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, May 20, 2015. He was a native andlifelong resident of Beaumont. His funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 24, 2015, at Broussard’s, Beaumont, with his interment following at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Simonetti; children, Kristina Simonetti Roberds of China and Wes Simonetti of Vidor; two grandchildren; brother, John R. Simonetti of Kingwood; and sisters, Amanda Lucas of Jacksonville, FL and Charlotte Bailey of Highlands. Tommie L. Sherrod, 88, of Vidor died Friday, May 22, 2015 at Baptist Hospital of SoutheastTexas in Beaumont. A native of Burkeville, she was a longtime resident of Vidor and a homemaker. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. She is survived by her sons Ben Sherrod of Lumberton, Bobby Sherrod of Vidor, Bill Sherrod  f Silsbee, daughter Beth Patten of Orange brothers Bill McGraw of Jasper, A.V. Buddy  McGraw Jr of Austin, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.

Samuel “Sam” Clark Hoyt

Samuel “Sam” C. Hoyt, 75, of Vidor died Sunday, May 17, 2015 at  is residence. A native of Weeks Island, LA, he was a longtime resident of Vidor and was in construction. He was a veteran of the US Navy. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Eastgate United Pentecostal Church in Vidor. He is survived by his wife Virginia Hoyt of Vidor, daughter Robyn Bertrand of Vidor, sister Johnnie Reeves of Opelousas, LA, brother  Lonnie Hoyt of Vidor, step-mother Cecelia grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Reverend R.N. Davis

Reverend R.N. Davis, Sr. 90, of Trinity, TX died Thursday, May 14th, 2015 at his residence. He was a former resident ofVidor for 31 years and  was the founder of TheChurch of God in Vidor. Brother Davis served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Pipefitters Local 195. As a pastor, “Brother Bob” taught everyone how to love even at times when it was difficult to love and all who knew him knew of his great faith with God. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather, a great provider and friend to all, and will be greatly missed. Brother Davis is survived by 3 daughters, Peggy Nicholds and Sandra Farris, both of Trinity, TX and Charlotte Hodges and husband Stephen of Beaumont, 2 sons, Robert Nolan Davis, Jr. and wife Cindy of Humble, TX and Timothy Davis and wife Kim of The Woodlands, TX, 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and a sister, Billie Watson of Texarkana, TX.
