Matthew Crate

Matthew Crate, 49, was born on 26 June, 1966 in Fukuoak Machi, Iwateken Japan. After graduating high school in Vidor, Matt joined the U.S. Navy and served four honorable years. After his service he followed his passion; cooking. Matt had a way with people, getting to know them as individuals and gaining lifetime friends. Through his cooking he was able to travel around the U.S.. His career peaked as he worked at the Pompano Club in Port Neches, TX. Matt also enjoyed fishing, barbequing  and life adventures. He is survived by his wife, Denise Crate of Orange, mother, Doris Haire of Vidor, father, Milton Crate and his wife Marty of Rochester, 3 brothers, Thomas Lewis of Alfomonte Springs, FL, Damon Haire of Vidor, and Michael Crate of South Bend, IN, and step-son, Taylor Porter. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a step-daughter,  Samantha Jackson, stepfather, Thomas Lewis, Jr. and step-father, Samuel Haire.

Robert William Reagor Sr.

Robert William Reagor Sr., 43M of Vidor, Texas lost his battle with cancer on August 18, 2015. Robert was born November 20, 1971 in Pasadena, Texas, the son of Billy Edward & Minnie Pearl (HILLIS) Reagor. He graduated from Vidor High School, class of 1990, and had been an Electrian for Diamond Offshore of Houston, working mostly in Brazil. He married Michelle Lee Peterson on April 29, 1995. He enjoyed fishing, football games and working with the Vidor FFA, attending many of the livestock shows in the area, and helping with the parade floats. Robert was predeceased by his father, Billy Edward Reagor, his sister, Debbie Lynn (Reagor) Jackson, grandparents, Thomas Edward Reagor, and Alvin Burton & Friedda Dorothy Mae (Friebel) Hillis. He is survived by his wife, Michelle (Peterson) Reagor, two sons, Robert William Reagor, Jr.

Bettie Marie McClain

Bettie Marie McClain was born on July 24, 1941 and passed away on August 16, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. At the time of her passing she was 74 years and 23 days of age. Bettie was reared and attended school in Beaumont & Vidor, Texas. After her schooling she became a hairdresser. Within a month after Mac McClain was discharged from the Marine Corps they were united in marriage on April 3, 1965 and to this union 4 children were born, 3 of whom survive her. They made a home together in Vidor, TX then they moved to Houston, TX,  then Galveston, TX, then Hitchcock, TX, then Alta Loma, TX, then Woodstock, NY, then back to Galveston, TX, then Friendswood, TX, then Buffalo, MO and then Marshfield, MO. She loved to make car trips every weekend until the kids came along. She loved sewing, crafting, making ceramics, cat fishing, cooking, especially Cajun food, and then playing poker as her mobility declined.

Bettie Marie McClain

Bettie Marie McClain was born on July 24, 1941 and passed away on August 16, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. At the time of her passing she was 74 years and 23 days of age. Wilma Ernestine Cash

Wilma Ernestine Cash, 84, of Silsbee, died Sunday, August 16, 2015, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was a native of  Spurger, and a lifelong resident of the area. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at Broussard’s, Silbee, with interment to follow at R.S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery, Silsbee. Survivors include her  husband, Roy Cash of ilsbee; daughters, Connie  Helms of Vidor and Diane Darcy of Aledo; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Maxine  Chandlier of Liberty.

Dorothy Ann Viator

Dorothy A. Viator, 75, of Vidor died Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor. A native of Jefferson County, she was raised in  Winnie and was a longtime resident of Vidor. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at  Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial following at Fairview Cemetery in Winnie. She is survived by her husband Robert Viator Sr., son Robert Viator Jr. and daughter Fay Wooden,  all of Vidor, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

David “Pat” Patrick St ockton Sr.

David “Pat” Stockton, 62, of Vidor died Thursday, August 13th, 2015 at his residence. A native of Jacksonville, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. He was Supervisor of Rail  Operations for TGS at the Port of Beaumont  where he worked for 20 years. Funeral services was held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2015 at  Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial following at Restlawn  Memorial Park in Vidor. He is survived by his  wife, Susan Stockton of Vidor, sons Patrick  Stockton II of Billings, MT, Jake Stockton of Vidor, daughters Amy  Comeaux of Vidor, Amber Simmons of  Vidor, and nine grandchildren.

Nancy Sue Simmons

Nancy S. Simmons, 58, of Vidor died Friday, August 14, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston. A native of Maine, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home. She is survived by her  son Collis Simmons Jr. of Vidor, and daughter Stacie Grimes of Lumberton, sisters Debbie Hill of Vidor, and Connie  Oyler Conroe, two grandchildren and one on the way.

Xavier Luke Alexander Parker

Xavier Parker, infant son of Chris and Nicki Parker, died Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Memorial Hermann Childrens Hospital in Houston. He was born July 23, 2015 in Beaumont. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2015 at Christian Fellowship Worship Center in Beaumont, with burial following at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. He is survived by his  parents Chris and Nicki Parker, brothers Marc- Anthony Story of Vidor, Noah Story of Vidor, Blayden Parker of Jasper, Vittorio Alconga, Philip Alconga, Jaden Alconga, Austin Alconga, and sister Victoria- Nicole Alconga all of Vidor, grandparents Jerry and Vicki Parker and Jeanet McCoy all of Vidor, great-grandparents Charles and Vicky Watson of Vidor. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Xavier Parker Benefit at DuGood Credit Union account #7024808.

Casey McIntyre

Casey McIntyre, 37, of Vidor, Texas passed away Friday, July 31, 2015, from injuries received in a motorcycle accident in Call, Texas. There was a private family viewing on Tuesday, Aug. 4, under the direction of Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville. Honoring his request, there will be a private Celebration of Life following cremation. Casey was a lifelong resident of Vidor and worked as an electrical lineman locally and abroad. He enjoyed all outdoor activities including hunting, shing, and sports. He also had a passion for reading, but the greatest pleasure in Casey’s life was spending time with his children, family and friends.
