Myrtle Hemmenway Merendino

Myrtle Hemmenway Merendino, 86, died Sunday, October 18th, 2015 in Beaumont, Texas. She was a lifelong resident of Vidor and a member of the Martha White Doll Club of Beaumont for many years. Myrtle was very loving and caring but was an especially dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother and to all who knew her and loved her as well. She will be greatly missed. Myrtle is survived by 2 sons, Raymond Bass and wife Glenda of Vidor, and Daryl Merendino and wife Tana of Orangefield, Texas, and 2 daughters, Emma Nell Bass Levy and husband Marc of Mauriceville, Texas, and Lynnette Bourque Weems of Spring, Texas. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great-granddaughters. Myrtle was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, Frank Merendino, Jr., her parents, siblings and infant daughter, Ida Kathleen. Visitation will be Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Annie Fae Lynn Bellot

Annie Fae Lynn Bellot, 64, died Thursday, October 15th, 2015 in Beaumont. She was a lifelong resident of Vidor and a member of Winfree Baptist Church. Annie loved to go shopping at the Salvation Army, Goodwill, and Dollar Store. She also liked to sew, go camping, swimming, enjoyed cooking and watching the cooking channel and she liked to text and talk on the phone too. Annie is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Wilton Bellot of Vidor, son, Elton Lynn and wife Tracie of Vidor, 4 grandchildren with one on the way. She is also survived by a sister, Dora Lynn Garrett and husband M.A. Garrett of Orange, and numerous neices and nephews. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Elton Lynn and Lucy Fae Weaver, and a sister, Ruby Mae Lynn. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home.

Jamie D. Reidelgerger

Jamie Reidelgerger, 57, of Vidor died Tuesday, October 20th, 2015 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, she was a lifelong resident of Vidor. Jamie was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church in Vidor and was a manager for Fast Lane Convenient Stores. She was a 1976 Vidor High School Graduate. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with cremation to follow. A visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Friday, October 23, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home. Jamie was preceded in death by her husband Kirk Reidelgerger, father James Otis Jones Sr and brother James Otis Jones Jr.. She is survived by her mother Mary jones of Vidor, TX, brother Glen Jones of Groves, TX and sister Blendia Arrington of Orange, TX, aunt, uncle and several nieces and nephews.

Ila “Dottie” Johnson

Ila “Dottie” Johnson, 98, of Deweyville died Tuesday, October 20th, 2015 at Kountze Nursing Home. A native of Fields, LA, she was a longtime resident of Kountze and a LVN for over 30 years. She worked at St Mary’s and St. Elizabeth Hospitals among other inside and outside the Golden Triangle. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. She is survived by her son Don Johnson of Columbia, MO, daughters Gwendolyn Guin and Lisa McFarland both of Deweyville, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

Tommy Lee Stringer

Tommy Stringer, 66, of Vidor died Wednesday, October 21st, 2015 at his residence. A native of Lufkin, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. He was retired from the US Postal Office and was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 26, 205 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home. He is survived by his sisters Gaye Kettl of Lumberton, Brenda Brumley of Lumberton, Sharon Chambers of Houston, Terry Bourque of Port Arthur, brothers Ronald Stringer of Hot Springs, AR and Earl Rhodes of Nederland, two grandchildren.

Tanner Jacob Smith

Tanner J. Smith, 5, of Vidor died Sunday, October 18th, 2015 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Tanner was a native of Little Rock, Arkansas and was raised in Lincoln, Arkansas before moving to Vidor, Texas 9 months ago. Tanner attended Vidor Elementary School and loved basketball, monster trucks and Buffalo Wild Wings. Family and his baby sister Tynlea was very important to Tanner, God was his hero. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Turning Point Church in Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Friday, October 23, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

Robert “Bob” Durmon

Robert “Bob” Durmon, 79 died Friday, October 16th, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. A native of McGee, Arkansas, Bob was a longtime resident of Rose City, Texas who liked the outdoors, working in his garden and raising animals. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Shirley Durmon, daughter, Vickie Echols and husband David of Vidor, son, Ricky Durmon and wife Pat of Vidor, daughter Brenda Hess and husband Charles of Cameron, Texas, and daughter, Patricia Stebbins and husband Kenny of Groves, Texas. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, 3 brothers, Jerry, David, and James Durmon, and 1 sister, Dean Rossi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noal and Ruby Durmon, 2 sisters, Dot Sowel and Doris Boutwell. Visitation will be Monday, October 19, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.

Eda Louise Robin

Eda Louise Robin, 84, of Vidor, died Saturday, October 17, 2015. She was a native of Eunice, LA. She is survived by her husband, Lester Robin, of Vidor; children, Joanna Lowe of Conroe; Anthony Lynn Robin; Kathleen Hensley; and Samantha Robin, all of Vidor; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at St. Anne Catholic Church, Beaumont, with her interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont. Memorial Contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 700 North Street, Suite M, Beaumont, Texas 77701.

Sherman Guillory

Sherman Guillory, 88, of Port Acres, died Monday, October 12, 2015, at home after a long illness. He was a native of Ville Platte, LA, and a veteran of the Navy, serving during WW II. He worked as a merchant marine for 38 years. His funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 18, 2015, at Broussard’s, with interment following at Oak Bluff Cemetery, Port Neches. He is survived by his wife, Margie; daughters, Shirley McCollough of Vidor and Faye McCracken of Lovington, NM; and inherited daughter, Mary Ann Davis of Summit, MS; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 2208 Canal, Port Arthur, Texas 77640 and The American Heart Association , P. O. Box 841125, Dallas, Texas 75284, or a charity of one’s choice.

Ethel Louise Wright Smith

Ethel Louise Wright Smith, 84, died Friday, October 16th, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong resident of Vidor who enjoyed going camping, reading, doing crossword puzzles and making a home for her family but she especially loved to spend quality, loving time with her grandsons. Ethel is survived by 2 sons, James Smith, Jr. and wife Becky, Gary Smith and wife Karon, 2 grandsons, James Smith III and wife Susan and Justin Smith and wife Jennifer all of Vidor. She is also survived by 2 great grandchildren, Jacob and Annabelle Smith and a brother, James Wright of Cheek, TX. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, James “J.D.” Smith, Sr., 3 sisters and 6 brothers. A rosary service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2015 with visitation to follow from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.
