Odalite “Mawmaw Walles” Brown

JOdalite Brown, 94 of Vidor died Wednesday, February 21, 2018 Christus St. Elizabeth hospital in Beaumont. A native of Orange, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. The funeral was held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 26, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. She is survived by her sons, Robert C. Brown, Jr. of Beaumont, and Don G. Brown of Burleson; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and numerous greatgreat- grandchildren.

Gladys McKinney

Joe Swiger, 88 of Vidor died Thursday, February 22nd, 2018 at his residence in Vidor. A native of West Virginia, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Joe was a member, an usher and a former board member at Eastgate United Pentecostal Church in Vidor. Joe was an outside machinist for Texaco for 15 years where he retired. He served his country in the US Marine Corps. Joe loves to hunt and ride his motorcycle. Visitation began at 1:00 pm Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm Monday, February 26, 2018 at Eastgate United Pentecostal Church with burial following at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Joe was preceded in death by his daughter Dian Coleman, granddaughter Brenda Legasse and grandson Michael Wayne Coleman.

Gladys McKinney

Gladys McKinney, 92, of Vidor, TX died Saturday, February 24th, 2018 in Beaumont, TX. A native of Galewood, MI she was a longtime resident of Vidor who enjoyed working jigsaw and crossword puzzles but she especially enjoyed spending quality time with her family. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Gladys is survived by 2 daughters; Bonnie Butts and her husband Ray of Vidor and Brenda Knight and her husband Gary of Lexington Park, MD, 2 sons; J.T. Simmons and his wife Sharon of Vidor and Sherman Simmons also of Vidor, 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Millie Hill and Vivian King, and 2 brothers; Bill and Charles Warren.

Donny Paul Mooney

Donny Paul Mooney, 58, of Vidor passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Vidor Health and Rehab. He was born in Beaumont, Texas on October 6, 1959 and moved to Vidor in 1975. He worked as an insulator and contractor before starting his own business called Mooney Construction. He enjoyed playing pool, fishing, loud music, and cars. He is preceded in death by his; parents, Betty Jean and Frank Paul Mooney, and older brother, Danny Frank Mooney. He is survived by his son, Nathaniel Shawn Mooney, Tracey Reynolds and Daniel Quinton Reynolds; sisters, Cathy McCraw, Victoria Sartor, and Christy Bailey and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service at Pecan Acres Baptist Church, 14795 Duncanwoods Lane in South Vidor on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 6:00 p.m. followed by a visitation time. Crystal Dawn Simmons

Crystal Dawn Simmons, 40, of Lumberton, TX died Thursday, February 15th, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. A native of Galveston, TX she was a longtime resident of Lumberton who loved photography, going to the beach and collecting sea glass and making custom jewelry. Crystal also enjoyed raising Holland Lop rabbits and loved her family and her pets. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Visitation was held Sunday, February 18, 2018 beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services were Monday, February 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment following at Restlawn Memorial Park.

Carol Cloyd, 78 of Vidor died Tuesday, February 20th, 2018 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Goose Creek, TX, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Carol worked in the Medical Billing Department at St. Elizabeth for 40 years where she retired from in 2013. She enjoyed crochet and all crafts. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm Friday, February 23, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home with cremation to follow. Carol was preceded in death by her son Ray Cloyd. She is survived by her husband RC Cloyd of Vidor, TX, daughter Grace Cloyd of Vidor, TX and granddaughter Nichole Cloyd of Vidor, TX.

Cary Hester

Cary Hester, 68 of Vidor died Wednesday, February 21st, 2018 at his residence. A native of Evadale, Texas, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Cary attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor and was a member of Iron Workers Local Union #125. He also was a member of the Orange County 4 H Club and the YMBL. Cary enjoyed watching and coaching baseball, but most of all he loved raising his hogs. Cremation arra gemts were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. A graveside service for interment of cremains will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Del-Rose Cemetery in Vidor. Cary was survived by his wife of 49 years Kathy Hester of Vidor, TX, sons Bobby Hester and his wife Tammy of Vidor, TX, Odell Hester and his wife Leisa of Vidor, TX, Christopher Hester of Vidor, TX, Jason Hester and his wife Heather of League City, TX, brother Lyle Hester of Call, TX, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Kailee Elizabeth Godeaux

Kailee E. Godeaux, 28 of Huntsville, TX died Sunday, February 18th, 2018 at Conroe Regional Hospital in Conroe, TX. A native of Beaumont, she was a longtime resident of Vidor before moving to Huntsville. Kailee was a 2008 Vidor High School graduate and a 2012 Sam Houston University graduate with a BS degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Legal Studies. Kailee was a loving daughter, a wonderful aunt, and a faithful friend. Kailee loved spending time with her dog. Kailee was an avid supporter of her Sam Houston Bear Cats. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 9:00 pm Friday, February 23, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.

Charles “Chuck” Clinton Petry, Jr.

Charles “Chuck” Clinton Petry, Jr., 56, of Vidor, Texas passed away on February 14, 2018, in Port Arthur, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Ron Perry. Burial will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery in Orange. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Born in Orange, Texas, on September 21, 1961, he was the son of Charles Petry, Sr. and the late Jerry (Glawson) Petry. Chuck worked at OCARC and retired after many loyal years. He had a fascination with eagles, collected Elvis memorabilia, and loved Christmas and getting everything decorated for that time of year. Chuck enjoyed watching old sitcoms like M.A.S.H., The Andy Griffith Show and Gunsmoke and liked to vacation in Colorado with his family. He always had a smile on his face and will be dearly missed by many.
