Ronald C. Kennerty

Ronald C. Kennerty, 89, of Vidor, TX, died Tuesday, October 3rd, 2017 in Beaumont, TX. He was born on September 24th, 1928 in Charleston, SC and lived in Aruba N.W.I. for 12 years. Ron graduated from Lago Community High School and received his B.B.A. degree from Lamar University in 1956. He retired from Great Lakes Carbon Corporation and was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Germany achieving the rank of Corporal. Ron was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Vidor, TX and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5789. He was also a past chairman of the Camping and Activities Committee, Beaumont Council Boy Scouts of America.

A memorial service will be Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Interment will be at Houston National Cemetery at a later date.

Robert Eugene Clayton Sr.

Robert E. Clayton Sr., 84 of Vidor died Thursday, October 5, 2017 at his residence. A native of Pascagoula, Mississippi, he was a longtime resident of Vidor, Texas. Robert was a member of Pecan Acres Baptist Church in Vidor and was a retired Iron Workers with Local Union #135. Robert served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing and times spent with family and friends.

Visitation began at 6:00 pm Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Graveside services was held at 2:00 pm Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Joyce Ann Clayton and son Robert “Buster” Clayton Jr.

Jerry “J” James Marion Jr.

Jerry Marion, 51 of Vidor died Friday, October 6th, 2017 at his residence. A native of Beaumont, Texas, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Jerry was a 1984 graduate from Vidor High School and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He enjoyed running, hunting, computers and spending time riding his motorcycle.

Visitation was at 6:00 pm Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services were held at 10:00 am Monday, October 9, 2017 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Vidor, with burial following at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor.

Jerry “J” James Marion Jr.

Jerry Marion, 51 of Vidor died Friday, October 6th, 2017 at his residence. A native of Beaumont, Texas, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Jerry was a 1984 graduate from Vidor High School and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He enjoyed running, hunting, computers and spending time riding his motorcycle. Norma Lee Harvey

Norma Lee Harvey, 73, of Sour Lake, died Tuesday, October 3, 2017. She was born on August 13, 1944, to Willie Etta Holland Skiles and James Arvel Skiles, in Trenton. Survivors include her sons, Keith Harvey and his wife, Antonette, of Spring and Derek Harvey and his wife, Ashley, of Sour Lake; brothers, JR. Skiles and his wife, Jackie, of Silsbee; J.D. Skiles and his wife, Syble and Jerry Skiles and his wife, Allene, both of Vidor; sisters, Shirley Steeley of Village Mills and Ruby Venable and her husband, Jimmy, of Silsbee; grandchildren, Brittani Harvey, T.J. Harvey, and Chelsea Harvey, all of Spring, and Delaney Harvey and Ryland Harvey, both of Sour Lake. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Harvey, Jr. and sister, Maxine Corbello. A gathering of Mrs. Harvey’s family and friends will be from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., Friday, October 6, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

Galen Black

Galen Black, 63 of Vidor died Thursday, September 28, 2017 at his residence. A native of Conroe, he was a resident of Vidor and a longtime resident of Buna. Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 9, 2017 at Black Cemetery in Browndale. He is survived by his wife Myrtle Black, and sisters Nikki Wright of Vidor, and Sheryl Black of Evadale.

Dale Rogers

Dale Rogers, 65 of Vidor died Saturday, September 30, 2017 at his residence. A native of Arkansas, he was a longtime resident of Vidor and retired from North Star Steel and the Texas Department of Transportation. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife, Karla Rogers; sons Chad Robert Rogers and Dustin Scott Rogers all of Vidor, and four grandchildren.

Susan Wood Tomplait

Susan Wood Tomplait, 59, of Nederland, died Friday, October 6, 2017. She was a native of Port Arthur and worked as a nurse for many years at Christus Hospital- St. Mary and Park Place Emergency Room. She retired as a Registered Nurse from University of Texas Medical Branch after 11 years. Survivors include her daughter, Stacy Baker of Nederland; son, Adam Tomplait of Groves; two grandchildren; brothers, Charles Wood of Port Neches and Mike Wood of Vidor. Her funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at Broussard’s, Nederland, followed by her interment at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches. Memorial contributions may be made in Ms. Tomplait’s memory to The Humane Society of Southeast Texas, P.O. Box 1629, Beaumont, Texas 77704.
