Mildred Raye Gilbreath

Mildred R. Gilbreath 77 of Orangefield died Monday, June 25th, 2018 at her residence. A native of Kirbyville, TX, she was a longtime resident of Orangefield. Mildred was a charter member of Pecan Acres Baptist Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star chapter#914 in Vidor. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Nile and fund raised a lot for the Shriners Hospital for Children in Galveston. But she enjoyed being with her family more than anything else. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Pecan Acres Baptist Church in Vidor with burial to follow at Stephenson Cemetery in Vidor. Mildred is preceded in death by her parents A.J. and Tommie Stephenson and sister Yvonne DeRamus.

Ryan “Frenchie

Ryan “Frenchie” Romero passed away from this life at the age of 98 on June 19,2018. He was born September 23, 1919 to Marie and Joseph Romero in New Iberia, La. He was a longtime resident of Vidor. Visitation will be Friday, June 22, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Turning Point Church. A celebration of Ryan’s life, given by Brother George Gau, will be Saturday, June 23, at 10:00am at Turning Point Church, 3600 North Main St., Vidor, Tx. He was married to Addie Eaves. They celebrated 76 years of marriage before her passing in 2015. Ryan was owner of Ryan Romero Excavating. He was a heavy equipment (dragline) operator for most of his life. He was well known as one of the best and worked all over the United States with his Bucyrus-Erie Dragline. With a 4th grade education, he could figure dirt work to perfection in his head. When he retired from excavating, he turned to gardening and barbequing. He loved raising vegetables for his family and friends.

Audrey Dean Rogers

Audrey Dean Rogers, 79, of Vidor, TX died Monday, June 18th, 2018 in Beaumont, TX. A native of Tyler, TX she was a longtime resident of Vidor and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Audrey liked to cook and listen to audio books, was an avid crossword puzzle enthusiast and very involved in raising her grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m.. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Audrey is survived by 3 daughters; Gina Irwin and her husband Donald of Vidor, Toni Anderson and her husband Marvin of Colville, WA and Angela Moore and her husband Jeff of Orange, TX, 3 grandchildren; Jennifer Camp, Janie Nace, and Jeffery Moore and one great-granddaughter Samantha Nace. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband; Paul Rogers, son; Paul Clifford Rogers, and her parents; Roger and Ida Williams.

Ashley Copeland, 35, of Vidor, died Saturday, June 23, 2018 at her home. A native of Beaumont, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Visitation will be Thursday, June 28, 2018 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Friday, June 29, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Del Rose Cemetery in Vidor. She is survived by her parents, Cheryl Sekinger and her husband Jack of Lumberton; son, Dylan Copeland of Vidor; sister, Heather Clark of Bridge City; brother, Matthew Sekinger of Lumberton; grandparents, Bob and Earlyene Seymour of Beaumont, Kyrle Purdy of Iowa Park, and Pat and Victor Zaloom of Beaumont.

Marvin B. Pearson

Marvin B. Pearson, 71, of Buna died Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Mid-Jefferson in Nederland. A native of Orange, he was a longtime resident of Buna. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment following at Restlawn Memorial Park. He is survived by his daughter, Laci Phillips of Bridge City; granddaughter, Shala Carr also of Bridge City; and three great-granddaughters. He is also survived by his significant other, Eva Newsome of Pt. Acres.

Lois Overstreet Powell

Lois Overstreet Powell, 86, of Wallisville and a former, longtime resident of West Orange, died Sunday, June 24, 2018. She was a native of Village Mills. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Village Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at the funeral home. She is survived by son, James T. “Dick” Powell of Kirbyville; daughter, Regina Broussard of Wallisville; and five grandchildren. She is also survived by her 10 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Pauline Dixon of Mauriceville.

George Allen

George Thomas Allen, Jr., 76, of Evadale, died Monday, June 18, 2018. He was a native of Gadsden, AL, and was raised in Orange. He retired from the papermill in Evadale in 2002, after 43 years. He served on the school board, water co-op and the appraisal district. His family will receive friends at Farmer Funeral Home, on Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with a memorial service following at 2:00 p.m. He is survived his wife, Shirley Allen of Evadale; son, Tracy Allen of Zavala; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sister, Barbara Kristiansen of Beaumont; brother, Gene Allen of Orange; and daughter-in-law, Sheri Chesser of Vidor. Louise Burroughs

Louise Burroughs, 79, of Vidor, died Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in Beaumont. A native of Jacksonville, FL, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. She is survived by daughters, Debbie Slaughter of Vidor and Pam Lee of Franklin; sons, Steven Slaughter, Tony Slaughter, David Slaughter, Randy Slaughter, and Bobby Slaughter, all of Vidor. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Burroughs of Silsbee; and sister, Judy Burroughs of Pearland.

Ryan “Frenchie” Romero
