Bobby Jones

Bobby Jones, 76, of Beaumont, died Friday, January 12, 2018. He was a native of Jasper, and grew up in Evadale. After a short career as a barber he decided in 1965 he wanted to sell cars. He was employed with the Kinsel Family for over 52 years. His funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Westgate Memorial Baptist Church, Beaumont, with his interment to follow at Morse Cemetery, Buna, under the direction of Broussard’s, Beaumont. He is survived by his wife, Gayle Jones; sons, Derrick Jones of The Woodlands and Craig Jones of Dallas; brothers, Jerry Jones, Jimmy Jones and David Jones, all of Evadale; sister-in-law, Pat Jones of Evadale; sister, Linda Jones McMillan of Kirbyville; and six grandchildren.

Ellen “Shelly” DeHart

Ellen “Shelly” DeHart, of Taylor, TX, passed away on January 3rd, 2018 at the age of 42. She was born in Beaumont, TX on July 7th, 1975 to parents Ellen Schmidtchen and Robert D. Herrin. Shelly worked for Round Rock ISD as a diagnostician. Visitation was held Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services was Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Shelly is survived by daughter, Adalynn King and son, Steven King; mother, Ellen Schmidtchen and husband Walter; father, Robert Herrin and wife, Silvia; brother, Walter Kurt Schmidtchen and wife Vicki; as well as three nieces and many extended loving family members.

Wayne Miller

Wayne Miller, 65, of Vidor, TX died Thursday, January 4th, 2018 in Beaumont, TX. A native of Beaumont he was a longtime resident of Vidor who loved fishing, hunting, playing golf and just being in the outdoors. Wayne worked in construction as a carpenter and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Visitation was held Monday, January 8, 2018 beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services was Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with interment following at Restlawn Memorial Park. Wayne is survived by 1 daughter; Tia Miller of Vidor, 2 sons; Wayne Miller, Jr of Vidor and Eddie Miller also of Vidor, 5 grandchildren; Brittnie, Blake, Chloe, Dylan and Erin. He is also survived by 2 sisters; Patricia Geer and Jeannie Beasley and 1 brother; Chris Miller.

Rose June Spector

Rose June Spector beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother of Mauriceville, Texas joined Jesus on December 28, 2017 at the age of 80 after a long hard fought battle with Alzheimer’s. At her request her body was donated to Science Care facility in Colorado for research in hopes of helping find a cure for Alzheimer’s. Rose was born on April 12, 1937, in Port Arthur, Texas, to June Marie Young Sheffield and Rufus Sheffield. She was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in 1955 and then she attended Lamar University and graduated from Hotel Dieu as a Registered Nurse in 1958. Rose worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, Green Acres Nursing Home and Polly’s Nursing home as director of nurses, St. Elizabeth’s Hospital before becoming a school nurse for Deweyville ISD where after 16 years of service she retired in 1994. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Mauriceville, Texas.

Ted Earl Adams Sr.

Ted Earl Adams Sr, “Grampy”, 69, died Monday, January 8th, 2018 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. A native of Fayette City, PA he was a longtime resident of Vidor, TX. Ted served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and retired from Kansas City Southern Railroad after 33 years as a mechanical supervisor. He enjoyed fishing and coached youth baseball and football in Vidor for many years. Ted was a great Dad and Grampy to many and loved spending time with his family. Visitation will be Thursday, January 11, 2018 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Friday, January 12, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Vidor with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Ted is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Gerri Adams, 1 daughter; Angela Lawrence and her husband William of Vidor, 2 sons; Ted Adams, Jr.

Mona Diane Welch

Diane Welch, 60 of Silsbee died Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Fall Creek Nursing Home in Humble. A native of Beaumont, she was a longtime resident of Vidor before moving to Silsbee after Hurrican Harvey. She was the receptionist for Cowboy Power Sports in Beaumont for 2 1/2 years. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. She is survived by her daughters, Amber Kinney of Houston, and Mallory Welch of Kingwood; father, Robert Netterville, Sr. of Lumberton; mother, Dorothy May of Pittsburg, MS; brother, Robert Netterville, Jr of Summit, MS; sisters, Cheryl Burton of Bastrop, Pam Smith and Tamara Sanders both of Vicksburg, MS; and three grandchildren.

Lynda Sharon Maxwell

Lynda S. Maxwell, 77 of Vidor died Saturday, January 6, 2018 at her residence. A native of Galveston, she was a longtime resident of Vidor and an LVN and managed a Jason’s Deli for a longtime. Cremation arrangement were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 15, 2018 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. She is survived by her husband, Jack Maxwell of Vidor; daughter, Pam Castello of Tiki Island; son, Chad Costello of Vidor; sisters, Nancy Williamson and Reba Sensat, both of Vidor; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Gloria Mae Savoy

Gloria M. Savoy, 69 of Vidor died Monday, January 8, 2018 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. A native of Crockett, she was a longtime resident of Vidor and a homemaker. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Old Faith Church in Vidor with burial to follow at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor. She is survived by her sons, John and Joseph Savoy both of Vidor; and sister, Carol Ann Reel of Burkeville.

Ike Lafitte II

Ike Lafitte II, 57, of Orange, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018. He was a native of Beaumont and worked as a training coordinator for Exxon Mobil. His funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at Broussard’s, Beaumont. A family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont. Survivors include his sons, Bryce Lafitte of Vidor and Brody Lafitte of Orange; and daughter, Brianne Madigan of China; and their mother, Melinda Russell; sons, Gavin Lafitte and Devin Lafitte, both of Bridge City, and their mother, Angela Cullum; mother, Dell Bergeron of Kerrville; brother, Daryl Lafitte of Moody; sisters, Karen Cravy of Winnie and Sharon Ross of Orange; and three grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous, District 90 Area 67, 4224 College Street, Beaumont, Texas 77707.
