Robert Jordan

Robert R. “Bobby” Jordan, 71, of Vidor, died Monday, April 9, 2018, at Hermann Baptist Memorial Hospital in Beaumont. He was a native of Alice,and a Vietnam War veteran of the US Army. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Farmer Funera l Home , Silsbee. Interment followed at Antioch Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Martha “Cassie” Isbell Jordan; children, Rob Jordan of Vidor, and Kathryn Smith of Beaumont; one grandchild, Lauren Jordan of Groves; and four sisters, Linda Marks and Audrey Sanford of The Woodlands, June Dale of Tatum, and Rhoda Fountain of Buna.

Betty Jean Martin

Betty Jean Martin, 83, of Orangefield, died Saturday, April 7, 2018, in Orangefield. A native of San Augustine County, she taught second grade at Orangefield Elementary School for 20 years. A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. A memorial service will be held at Weeks Chapel Cemetery at a later date. She is survived by her children, Jackie Roberts of Orangefield, Johnny Martin of Bridge City, George Robert Martin, of Jasper, and Eston Martin, of Orangefield; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Cleaburn Phelps of Jasper, Thomas Phelps of Vidor, Guvie Miller of Brookland, and Curtis Miller of Lufkin.

Carolyn Juanice Greathouse

Carolyn J. Greathouse, 86 of Vidor died Friday, April 6, 2018 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. She was a lifelong Vidorian. Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. She is survived by her son, Scott Greathouse and daughter Sharon Greathouse both of Vidor; sisters, Peggy Guidry and Judy Hart; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren

Vadna Hetzel O’Neal

Vadna Hetzel O’Neal, 87, of Vidor, TX died Monday, April 9th, 2018 in Beaumont, TX. A native of Vidor she was a longtime resident of Whittier, CA before returning to Vidor in 2000. Vadna liked to crochet, painting, and loved the game “Zelda”. She also enjoyed reading, especially mystery books. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 11, 2018 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Williamson Cemetery. Vadna is survived by 3 daughters; Teresa Muckleroy and her husband Glenn, Leola Hetzel, and Kelly Leger, all of Vidor, 3 sons; Anthony Bruce O’Neal, Barry Gorman O’Neal and Jerry Paul O’Neal and his wife Sheila, all of Vidor. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Joyce Hayes and Mollie Ishee, and 2 brothers; Edward Hetzel and Albert Hetzel. Vadna was preceded in death by her husband; Irven Azor O’Neal, Jr.

Marvin Howland

Reverend Marv Howland, 86, of Orange, died Monday, April 2, 2018, at his home. He was a native of Buffalo, NY. He was a Korean War veteran of the US Army and the NY Reserves and Guard, and then in the Texas Guard. He was retired from Allied Chemical Corp. as a manager after 33 years. A visitation will be held at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2018. His memorial service will be held at St. Paul Episcopal Church, Orange, at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 8, 2018. Interment of his cremains will follow in the church memorial garden with Military Honors provided by the Texas Military Honors Team. A celebration-reception will be held in the church parish hall following the interment.

Billie Myers

Billie Jean “Jeanie” Myers, 88, of Kirbyville died Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Vidor Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a longtime resident of Kirbyville. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2018 at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Magnolia Springs Cemetery. She is survived by her son, William René Myers of Vidor; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister-in-law, Bessie Smith of Magnolia Springs.

Merrick “Pete” Wyble

Merrick “Pete” Wyble, 55, of Port Neches, died Monday, April 2, 2018 at s residence. He was a native of in Port Arthur, and a lifelong area resident. He was Lead Electrical Designer with Richard Design Services. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Neches River Wheelhouse in Port Neches. Pete says....Everyone is Welcome! Surviving relatives include his wife, Aaryn Giblin Wyble of Port Neches; parents, Bubbie and Antoinette Wyble of Port Arthur; daughters, Amanda Bishop of Mauriceville, and Carissa Wyble of Cypress; sons, Merrick James Wyble of Fannett, and Jack Giblin of San Antonio; sisters, Loretta Chatagnier of Port Arthur, and Marla Rucker of Groves; brothers, Chad Wyble of Crystal Beach, and John Wyble of Port Neches; and two grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Bill George, 84, of Vidor, TX died Tuesday, March 27th, 2018 at his residence. A native of Stuttgart, AR he was a longtime resident of Vidor who enjoyed Bluegrass music and going to Bluegrass festivals, Zydeco music and dancing, gardening and being outdoors. Visitation was held Monday, April 2, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services were Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Del Rose Cemetery. Bill is survived by 1 daughter; Carolyn Griffin of Vidor, 1 son; Bobby George and his wife Candace of Stuttgart, AR, 2 grandchildren; Corey and Diane Griffin, 2 great grandchildren; Bryce and Riley Griffin and 2 cousins; Sonny and Earl George of Stuttgart, AR. Bill was preceded in death by 1 daughter; Donna Courtney and 1 brother; Woodrow George.

Janet Marie Jones, 66, of Orange, TX died Saturday, March 31st, 2018 at her residence with her husband by her side. A native of Tomah, WI she was a longtime resident of Orange who liked gardening, crocheting and cooking but she especially loved to spend quality time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. A graveside service will be Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Jones Family Cemetery. Janet is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Robert Jones, 3 sons; Robert L. Jones and his wife Diane of Clear Lake, TX, Kevin W. Jones and his wife Misty of Baytown, TX and Ryan C. Jones and his wife Chrissy of Beaumont, TX. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, her father; Clayton Hansen, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Janet was preceded in death by her mothers; Isabel Hansen and Marion Hansen.

Dorothy McNeely-Childs, 81, of Orangefield, TX died Tuesday, March 27th, 2018 at her residence. A native of Beaumont, TX she was a longtime former resident of Vidor, TX. and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pt. Acres, TX. Dorothy loved to spend quality time with her family especially her grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with funeral services at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Dorothy is survived by 3 daughters; Kellie Carter and her husband Pete of Vidor, Kim Neely and her husband Max of Orangefield, and Karol Dougherty and her husband Dennis of Texoma, TX, 3 sons; Kent McNeely of Mobeetie, TX, Alan Childs of Vidor, and Boyd Childs and his wife Gina also of Vidor. Dorothy was also survived by 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 sisters; Beverly Christy, Mary Beth Griffin, and Elaine Wachtel.
