CURTIS LEE RATLIFF JR.

Curtis Lee Ratliff Jr., 30, of Vidor, TX died Thursday, March 5th, 2020 at his home. A native of Beaumont he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Curtis enjoyed playing video games, flying drones, inventing things and just hanging out with friends but he especially enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. Curtis is survived by his parents; Curtis, Sr and Janine Ratliff of Vidor, sister; Christina Ratliff and brother; Logan Reed Ratliff both of Vidor. He is also survived by grandmothers; Rose Holt and Donna Dempster, and 3 nephews. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

GARY GIBBS

Gary Gibbs, 71, of Vidor, TX died Wednesday, March 11th, 2020 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Pasadena, TX he was a former resident of Dallas before moving to Vidor. Gary was a member of First United Methodist Church of Vidor and enjoyed watching TV in his spare time. He is survived by his wife of 42 years; Patricia Gibbs, mother; Robbie Gibbs of Logan, NM and sister; Rebecca Gordon also of Logan, NM. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Patricia Gibbs.

TERRY ROBERT “BOB” EMERSON

Terry Robert “Bob” Emerson, 75, of Vidor, TX died Sunday, March 8th, 2020 at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. Bob was a native of Muskegon, MI and former resident of Fannett, TX before moving to Vidor. He retired from the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer (CPO) as a Hospital Corpsman during Vietnam. He graduated from George Washington University with a Physicians Assistant Associates Degree. Bob enjoyed ranching, collecting guns and coins and loved his cats. Bob will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia at a later date. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years; Myra Emerson and son; Robert Joseph “Joey” Emerson, both of Vidor. Arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

Wayne Tolbert, 78 of Vidor died Saturday, March 7th, 2020 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont, TX. A native of Monroe City, TX, he was a lifelong resident of Vidor. Wayne was a Pipe Fitter with Local Union #195 and was in refrigeration and heating. Wayne enjoyed fishing and hunting. He liked working around the farm and gardening. Visitation was at 6:00 pm Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services were held at Memorial Funeral Home followed by burial at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Wayne is survived by his wife of 58 years Pat Tolbert of Vidor, TX, daughter Anita Dorchuck and her husband Stan of Vidor, TX, son Mike Tolbert and his wife Brooke of Vidor, TX, brother William Tolbert of Baton Rouge, LA, 4 grandchildren Jason Dorchuck of Vidor, TX, Jennifer Dorchuck of Cypress, TX, Shawn Tolbert of Vidor, TX, and Chelsea Tolbert of Kountze, TX, 2 great grandchildren Jacelyn Dorchuck and Jaxon Dorchuck.

Frances D. Girdler, 82 of Vidor died Saturday, March 7th, 2020 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home. A native of High Island, TX, she was lifelong resident of Vidor and Beaumont. Frances was a homemaker and an avid reader. She enjoyed to cook and go to the casinos. She loved the movie The Notebook which she watched numerous times. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 9, 2020 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Frances was preceded in death by her husband Otto Girdler and son Robert Wayne Girdler. She is survived by her daughters Karen Berg of Vidor, TX, Robin Hale of Beaumont, TX, and Rhonda Jones of Vidor, TX, sister Carolyn Griffin of Kerrville, TX, 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchild and 3 great great grandchildren.

Roald I. Bach, 72 of Vidor died Saturday, March 7th, 2020 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. A native of Risor, Norway, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Roald was an operator Bayer in Baytown, TX for 25 years. He loved to fish and hunt. He also enjoyed traveling and helping his son-in-law and daughter rebuild thier home after the Harvey. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor.

DEBBIE L. SPURGEON

Debbie L. Spurgeon, 60 of Orange died Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020 at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, TX, she was a lifelong resident of Orange. Debbie attended Cowboy Church in Orange and Calvary Baptist Church in Deweyville. She was a Quality Manager for RTP Company in Orange where she worked 30+ years. Debbie also was a reporter for the Vidor Vidorian for 10 years after graduating from high school and wrote her own stories. Her favorite thing to do is genealogy she absolutely loved it. Visitation was at 6:00 pm Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm Friday, March 6, 2020 at Memorial Funeral Home followed by burial at Singleton Cemetery in Vidor.

Morris Luquette, 87, of Beaumont, TX died Tuesday, March 10th, 2020 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor, TX. Morris was a longtime resident of Beaumont and served his country in both the U.S. Army and Air Force. He enjoyed working game rooms for Howard Morris and loved attending church. Morris was known to be very compassionate and generous and was always willing to help anyone. He is survived by 2 sons; Billy Luquette of Kaplan, LA and Ricky Allen Luquette, 1 daughter; Cynthia Norsworthy, 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

Sandy Berndt, 72 of Vidor Saturday, March 7th, 2020 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont, Texas. A native of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Sandy was a sales associate with JC Penny’s for 20 years. She was a Christian women and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Sandy is survived by her daughter Cheryl Townsend of Vidor, Tx and son Donald Berndt Jr. of Orange, TX, sister Tammy Laracco Reedsburg, WI, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Pam attended New Hope Church of God in Vidor and was a homemaker. Graveside service will begin at 10:00 am Friday, March 13, 2020 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Pam is survived by her sons Johnny Wayne Cole of Vidor, TX and Terrance Donald Thibodeaux of Houston, TX, daughter Lamberth Crow of Beaumont, TX, sister Pearl Stanley of Buna, TX brothers Gordon Young of Vidor, TX and 7 grandchildren.
