Rick Menard

Rick Menard, 62, of Silsbee, formerly of Vidor, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. He was born on March 7, 1956 in Beaumont, to the late Ruby (Berwick) Zeek and James Joseph Menard. He was a heavy equipment operator for T. Johnson Industries, Inc. for 20 plus years and a prior owner of Bad Boyz Construction and Rick’s Roofing & Remodeling. He was an avid outdoorsman; loved fishing, hunting and motorcycles. He is survived by his grandchildren: Seth Ardis of Vidor, Darian and Bladen Keaton of Bridge City; sisters: Patricia Menard Callier (Norris) of Hamshire, Cheryl Menard Haney (Ron) of Beaumont, Belinda Menard Roggenkamp (David) of Lumberton, Wanda Menard Haney and Angela Sherree Johnson Magliolo (Mark) of Vidor; stepchildren: Ashley Atkinson and Michael Smith of Silsbee. He is preceded in death by his daughter; Amanda Marie Menard of Vidor.

Thomas “Tommy” L. Bean

Thomas “Tommy” L. Bean, 79, of Vidor, died Monday, October 1, 2018, at Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on November 24, 1938, to Epsie Ann Strawther Bean and Robert Floyd Bean, Sr., in Trout Creek and was a United States Air Force veteran. Tommy was a retired automobile dealer and co-owner of Buddy Chevrolet and also owner of Tommy Guns. Survivors include his wife, Sadie Bean; son, Cory Lamar Bean and his wife, Debbie, of Montgomery; daughter, Julie Bean Lightfoot and her husband, Jerry, of Vidor; grandchildren, Blake Bean and his wife, Morgan; Brock Bean; Brett Bean; Reagan Lamar Lightfoot; Luke Lightfoot; Leah Lightfoot; and Ava Lightfoot; an aunt, cousins, and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert F. Bean, Jr.; and sister, Juanita Rodich. A gathering of Mr. Bean’s family and friends was held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

James “Jubby” Chesser

November 28, 1938 September 30, 2018 James “Jubby” Chesser, 79, of Vidor, died Sunday, September 30, 2018, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. He was born on November 28, 1938, to Ruby Jordan Chesser and Abshire Chesser, in Vidor. Survivors include his daughter, Donna McCord and her husband, Martin, of Vidor; son, Steven Chesser of Lewisville; grandchildren, Keith Derouen and Kaitlyn Derouen; wife, Vicki Chesser of Vidor; her children, Jessica Brown and her husband, Dustin, of Beaumont; Adrianne Strong and her husband, Scott, of Austin; and Samantha Tarver and her husband, Heath, of Orange; her grandchildren, Coleman, Nate, Abigail, Dane, Callen, Macie, Jaxon, and Charlotte; brothers, Don Chesser and his wife, Jeri and Carl Chesser and his wife, Beth; and sister, Lynda Sarver and her husband, Mike. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Fannie Chesser; four brothers; and three sisters. A gathering of Mr. Chesser’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m.

Betty Jo Carter

Betty Carter, 71 of Vidor died Tuesday, October 2nd, 2018 in Vidor. A native of Beaumont, she was a lifelong resident of Vidor. Betty enjoyed house and yard work, but most of all she loved being with her grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Graveside services will be held at 10:am Friday, October 5, 2018 at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Robert Carter, brother Melvin Ingle Jr., and granddaughter Skylar Marks. She is survived by her daughters Sonja Marks and her husband Bubba of Vidor, TX, Delia Carter of Vidor, TX, sister Mary Marshall of Vidor, TX, brothers Mike Ingle, J.W. Ingle, Jack Ingle and Kenny Ingle all of Vidor, TX, 3 grandchildren Tanner Marks, Conner Marks, and Taryn Marks and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lanice Jean Chatagnier Tatar

Lanice Jean Chatagnier Tatar, 72, of Groves died Friday, September 21, 2018 in Houston. She was a native of Port Arthur. A celebration of lifegathering took place on Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the R.L. “Gabby” Eldridge Community Center, Sabine Pass. She is survived by herformer spouse, Richard A. Tatar of Groton, CT; her children, Michele Allen of Fort Worth, Kimberly Lewis of Spring, Richard S. Tatarof Vidor and Bekky Kinsey of Houston; seven grandchildren; sister,Darvis Eldridge of Sabine Pass; and brother,Tracey Chatagnier.The family requests that donations in her memory be made in lieu of flowers. Kenneth L. Busch, 45 of Vidor died Sunday, September 30, 2018 at his residence. A native of Galveston, he was a longtime resident of Vidor and a selfe mployed online retailer. Graveside services will be held at 10:00a.m. Wednesday, October3, 2018 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. He is survived by his mother, Jacqueline Busch and brother, Stephen Busch both of Vidor; and two nephews.

Braulio Galaviz

Braulio Galaviz, 90, of Vidor died Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Harbor Hospice Housein Beaumont. A native of Doty, hewas a long time Vidor resident and a Korean War and Vietnam Conflict veteran of the US Army. He worked for Brink’s for 13 years. Visitation will beginat 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home with burialto follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. He is survived by hiswife, Ambrosia Galavizof Vidor; daughters, Nina Reynolds of Hutto, and Trina G. Mintonof Vidor; son. Braulio Anthony Galaviz of Beaumont; sisters, Juanita Cardenas of Rose City, Delores Becerra and Mary Lois Gutierrez; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior’s.

Jerry Fowler, 59, of Vidor, TX died Monday, September 24th, 2018 at his residence. A native of Beaumont, TX he wasa long time resident of Vidor who likedhunting, fishing, watching softballand riding on hislawnmower. He especially enjoyed spending time withhis family and friends. Jerry is survived by1 daughter; Renea Fowler of Vidor, 1 son; Thomas Fowler ofKY, 3 grandchildren; Justice Fowler, Hanah Lawrence and Kari Blume, 2 sisters; Brenda Dyche andher husband Kevinof Vidor and Martha Boone also of Vidor. Jerry is also survived by 2 nieces; Sierra Dyche and Natasha Boone, 1 nephew; Damian Boone, and 2 best friends; Wayne Cleveland and Linn Myers. He waspreceded in death byhis parents; Harveyand Maxine Fowler. Cremation arrangements wereentrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.
