IH-10 widening project in Orange County approved for $13 million in funding

Thanks to Texas voters, a 10 mile stretch of IH-10 in Orange County will be widened from four lanes to six beginning in early 2017.

Cardinal Jazz Orchestra holiday concert Tuesday

Lamar University’s Cardinal Jazz Orchestra will perform classic and contemporary big band music and fresh arrangements of holiday classics with the Port Neches-Groves High School Jazz Band on Tuesday, Dec. 1. The free concert begins at 7 p.m. in the Port-Neches Groves High School auditorium.

LCM grads donate over $3,000 to LCM Education Foundation

The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Education Foundation, Inc. received a visit and gift from members of the Reunion Committee from the Little Cypress classes of 1953 to 1972. The reunion takes place every two years and after each for the past six years, the group has made a substantial donation to the Foundation to help fund the not-for-profit’s Grants to Educators program.

Lyndsie Christine Burke

18 of Lumberton was recently crowned the Village Creek Festival Queen. She was awarded a $1,000 scholarship and will represent the crown for one year participating in ribbon cutting ceremonies and other civic responsibilities such as the Christmas Parade.

The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Education Foundation’s Breakfast with Santa, which kicks off the Beary Merry Christmas Market, has been expanded this year. The three main choices include a Chik-Fil-A chicken biscuit, McDonald’s sausage biscuit, or homemade pancakes.
