Itty Bitty Story Time

The Vidor Public Library held Itty Bitty Story Time on Thursday, January 21, 2016. Program Coordinator Megan Ridlespurge read “The Three Snow Bears” by Jan Brett. The children made polar bear puppets for the craft.

FFA Competes at HC Youth Fair

Vidor FFA competed at the Hardin County Youth Fair in Kountze on January 2. Amanda Sabins won Breed Champion with her steer, Tyler Root won showmanship yet again, and also won reserve champion steer, Caleb Smith won first in class, Emileigh Singleton won second in class, Jenna Hoffman won second in class steer and heifer, Cassity Bailey won second in class with her heifer, Bryce Arrant won second with his pig, Audry Kohn was a participant in pig show, and Toby Tubbs took sixth place in pig show.

TOPS Health Fair

TOPS participated in the health fair Saturday in Vidor at the Methodist church put on by the food bank. Those that attended were Janis, Stephanie and June. TOPS is a non profit weight organization that is open to men and women. Meetings are held at the Methodist church at 7 with weigh in at 5:30. Annual Community Trash-Off announced

It’s that time of year again! The 21st Annual Community Trash-Off is scheduled for Saturday, February 13, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the City of Orange Boat Ramp, located on Simmons Drive in Orange, Texas. This year’s Community Trash-Off is presented by INVISTA and hosted by Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center in collaboration with the City of Orange.

Blue Santa Toy Drive at VHS

The Vidor High School Career and Technical Education Criminal Justice Club sponsored the Blue Santa Toy drive in December . The Vidor FFA and Yearbook classes helped out as well , bringing in a plethora of cool gifts. They were able to donate many boxes of toys to the Vidor PD. Mrs. Tammie Landry, CJ Sponsor; CJ Club members Andrew Seals, Pearce Bland, Jarod Shivers, Clayton West, and Samantha Gall.

Stark Museum of Art invites families to make Art After Dark

The Stark Museum of Art is excited to welcome families to make art after dark during Third Thursdays Art Night, Thursday, January 21, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Admission is free for all Orange County public, private or home school students, grades pre-K-12, wearing school colors or spirit wear. Admission for Adults (18-64) is $6; Seniors, (65 or over) $5; and children, 3 years and under, are admitted free. Stark Cultural Venues Members will also receive free admission.

LCM Board recognizes students, faculty

Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD’s Board of Trustees were recognized by Superintendent Dr. Pauline Hargrove and administrators during the regular January Board of Trustees meeting. Dr. Hargrove asked the administrative team to share one word that they feel described the Board. Those included supportive, committed, loyal, dedicated, servanthood, caring, empowering, devoted, intelligent, optimistic, understanding, and a two-word phrase…common sense.
