Interact Officers Inducted

Vidor High School Interact officers Emma Heubel (treasurer), Mykailyn Harbison (secretary), and Charlie Huang (president) were inducted by District 5910 Interact Coodinator Sally Andrews on Monday. The group is a vital part of student and community service at VHS and in the city.

Service Honored

Honored for their service to Vidor Rotary Club were Doris and Bobby Simon of Nederland. Assistant Gov. Simon has been a driving force behind supporting the work of Vidor Rotary for over four years. He and his wife are pictured with incoming President Tim Andrews, who honored the Simons’ work with Vidor Rotary by placing a flag at Veteran’s Park in their honor.

New President

Jordan Green will take the reigns as Vidor Community Rotaract President on July 1. The club was begun in September of last year, and is for those ages 18-30. It is allied with Rotary.

Vidor ISD bus driver Kristy Raley is headed to Greensboro, NC, next month to compete in the International School Bus RoadEO after taking first place in State competition on Saturday. Congratulations to Mrs. Raley, who is taking her fifth trip to International competition.

Participants at Golden Triangle Raceway ready to return to fast lane action

This Friday, June 17, the action should be intense at Golden Triangle Raceway Park. After weeks of rain delays, the weather forecast for Friday looks perfect for racing at the track located on W.Hwy. 90 between Beaumont and China. Battling for the checkered flag honors will be all the regular GTRP classes: Limited Modified, Street Stock, Factory Stock, Jr. Mini Stock, and the NS Late Models.
