Vidor High School Teacher Spotlight

By Katelyn Vincent

Meet Mrs. Kerri Pierce, VHS English Teacher. Prior to teaching, Mrs. Pierce was a practice manager at a doctor’s office. That was until she was diagnosed with melanoma in 2007. She tried to continue working at the doctor’s office however, the chemo was too much. “Once I was diagnosed, I wanted to make a difference, and not just push paper for the rest of my life.” Mrs. Pierce took the steps to become a teacher. She is currently in her fourth year at Vidor High School and is very invested in the children she teaches. “I wanted to be a teacher, and make an impact.”
