Signing Letters

Four of Vidor’s 22-5A All-District players signed their letters of intent Wednesday in front of family, coaches and teammates. From left to right, Noah Buniting, Cade Purcell, Clarissa Hagler and William Fawcett simultaneously signed their contract with their respective schools.

 

Bunting and Purcell will play baseball for the ETBU Tigers, Hagler will play softball for the Blinn College Buccaneers and Fawcett will play football for the Southern Virginia Knights after completing a two-year mission for his church.

VJHS Band Concert

The Vidor Junior High bands played a concert last week. The Jazz Band, under the direction of Mr. Trubie Smith, played Woodchopper’s Ball, When I Fall in Love, Sunny, Saxes with Attitude, A String of Pearls, and Basic-Cally the Blues.

Joint Meet and Greet

The Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School “Team Force” students have advanced to the State Special Olympics Competition in Track. Five Special Olympic athletes and their five Meet in the Middle partners will travel to U

 

niversity of Texas at Arlington for competition from May 24 to 27. The students are trying to raise $1,500 to fund their trip This will cover hotel rooms, meals, gas, excursions and the $300 entry fee. A donorschoose.org account has been established to help with these costs and equipment needs. Joint Meet and Greet

Vidor’s Best Western Plus on East Courtland hosted a Meet and Greet   Vidor city and Vidor Chamber of Commerce members and officers Tuesday evening. Pictured above are Vidor Chamber President Hal LaPray and local realtor and chamber member Charlotte Ragan.

 

Dozens of Vidor Chamber of Commerce members joined City of Vidor and Vidor Chamber of Commerce officials at a Meet and Greet held Tuesday at the Vidor Best Western Plus on East Courtland to talk about and cement the city and chamber’s strategic relationship in promoting the city and its business community.

Students from Vidor ISD will perform at Arts Afternoon

Vidor Independent School District will host Arts Afternoon on Tuesday, May 22, from 3:30 -5:30 at Pine Forest Elementary, 2450 N. Main. The event, which has been held each Spring for a number of years, features the art work of Vidor students. In addition, students from the Pine Forest Elementary, Vidor Junior High, and Vidor High School choirs will perform, as will VHS band students and members of the awardwinning VHS Pirate Players.
