Secret Sisters at VE named VISD Employees of the Month

By Sally Andrews

In an interesting twist, the Secret Supporting Sisters at Vidor Elementary, a mostly anonymous group, were named Vidor ISD’s Employees of the Month for November. The faculty members have spearheaded efforts to provide and support those members of the Vidor Elementary staff that were affected by Hurricane Harvey. They have been providing snacks, food, full meals, gift cards, hugs, and even laundry services. Assistant principal Shannah Mackey, who nominated them, is displaced after Harvey flooded her home. She says, “Their dedication to helping others as well as their commitment and enthusiasm to the children at Vidor Elementary have been such assets to all during these difficult times. We love and appreciate them greatly, and we can feel their prayers.”
