Area population loss highlights importance of census response

Vidor and Orange County has joined other areas of Southeast Texas that have seen population losses following recent hurricanes and flooding. Couple that with a lackluster response to the US Census survey and that means less federal money coming to local governments and less of a voice in government affairs. Already extended several times due to COVID-19, the deadline has been extended to the end of October.
