All Vidor I.S.D. school campuses like Vidor High School will be closed all week long from Monday, August 24, through Friday, August 28th, so that families can be together in case weather conditions have an impact on the Vidor area.

All Vidor I.S.D. school campuses will be closes all week long as a precaution against possible tropical storm rains and winds.  According to Superintendent of Vidor I.S.D. Schools, Dr. Jay Killgo, “We don’t know how these tropical storms will affect our Vidor School District area, but we feel that this is a time for families to be together.”

Dr. Killgo used the call out system on Sunday to alert all Vidor I.S.D. parents and guardians that in preparation for the potential severe weather this week, Vidor ISD will be closed the week of August 24-28.  The Superintendent indicated that school officials might make further announcements throughout the week as more news comes available.

“There is great uncertainty at this time with the weather conditions,” said Dr. Killgo.  “Therefore, it is in the best interests of everyone that we suspend school for the week.  The school district will not be offering virtual education during this time.  We ask that you all focus on your safety and health during this time and we will keep you updated with regard to school re-opening and other news.”
