Rose City homeowners can apply now for home acquisition

Attention all Rose City homeowners! Are you still trying to recover from Hurricane Harvey’s massive floodwaters? Is your recovery stalled because you had no flood insurance and you are doing it in bits and pieces as you able to afford it? Have you wished that you could sell your flood damaged home and move into another home in, perhaps, a less flood prone area? Well thanks to a $2 million Texas Government Land Office (TXGLO) Community Development Block Grant for Disaster Recovery Grant, money is now available for the City of Rose City to acquire your house and land at post-storm fair market value.

According to Melinda Smith, Project Manager with the government-consulting firm of Traylor & Associates that the City of Rose City has engaged to administer the TXGLO CDBGDR Acquisition Grant, “The City of Rose City has been awarded Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Funds to assist property owners affected by Hurricane Harvey.
