With newly discovered Coronavirus exposure cases on the rise in Orange County, now may be a good time to be tested for the Coronavirus to make sure you are COVID-19 free.  Since Memorial Day through June 17, 2020, thirty-three more Orange County residents have been found to have been exposed to the COVID-19 Coronavirus, through testing by private doctors and area commercial health clinics.

In response to the increase in privately reported Coronavirus cases in our county, Orange County has arranged for a mobile military COVID-19 testing unit to be deployed to Bridge City on Sunday, June 28, 2020.  The mobile military Coronavirus testing unit will be set up in the Bridge City Community Center located at 105 Parkside Dr. in Bridge City off West Roundbunch Road from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Unlike previous military testing sessions, you do not have to call ahead for an appointment in order to be tested.  Just show up at the community center and be prepared to wait in your car, in-line for your free Coronavirus test.

You can locate the Bridge City Community Center by driving south on F.M. 1442 from F.M. 105 South.  F.M. 1442 turns into West Roundbunch Road and as you get into Bridge City you will come to the traffic light at Ferry Road adjacent to Bridge City Bank.  Continue east on West Roundbunch Road for just one more block and turn left on Parkside Dr. to the first building on your left.

According the mobile military testing unit protocols, everyone arriving in a car to be tested for the Coronavirus will be screened to see if they have or have recently had: a fever or chills, a sore throat, coughing, headaches, fatigue, nausea/vomiting/diarrhea, body aches/muscle or joint pain, nasal congestion, shortness of breath and/or loss of taste and/or smell.

This is an opportunity for you and your family to be tested for the COVID-19 Coronavirus for free and without having to make a prior appointment to be tested.  Since there are no appointments required for this free COVID-19 Coronavirus test, it might be a good idea to get to the Bridge City Community Center as early as you can.
