Sixteen in Vidor receive property tax abatements

Sixteen property owners in Vidor were granted seven-year decreasing property tax abatements on their Orange County property tax bill for new properties or improvements on existing properties last week. The Orange County Commissioners’ Court voted to grant seven-year property tax abatements to Susan A. Merchant, Karen Ballinger, Kaitlin Ricks, Lisa Marie Harris, Colt Dear, Kindel Toby Westberry, Apolinar Rodriguez, William Crutcher & Gabrielle Crutcher, Jose Estupinan and Heather Hawthorn. The court also granted two-year tax abatements to Vidor area builders or developers W&B Enterprises-LLC, McPayne Real Estate-LLC (abatements on three properties) and Rock Builders-LLC (abatements on two properties).

These tax abatements granted by Orange County are part of the City of Vidor Pride and Progress incentive for residential property owners to build new or remodel in five reinvestment zones in the city.

The property owners mentioned above will see a reduction in future property taxes levied by the City of Vidor, the Orange County Port and Navigation District, the Orange County Drainage District, the Orange County Water Control and Improvement District and now the County of Orange.
