Human remains found on F.M. 1136

Thirty-eight year-old Ronny Lee Carey, has been charged with murder in the death of forty-one year-old Ryan Michael Sullivan in mid-Orange County recently. Orange County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are continuing to investigate the homicide.

Deputies of the Orange County Sheriffs Office have discovered the human remains of forty-one year old Ryan Michael Sullivan in a field in rural Orange County. Deputies have not released Sullivan’s home address.

Acting on a tip, deputies of the Orange County Sheriff executed a search warrant on a large tract of property on F.M. 1136 about halfway between Mauriceville and the Interstate 10 freeway on Monday, January 27, 2020. The Orange County S.W.A.T. team and other law officers entered the one-acre tract of land and arrested a resident of the property for an outstanding aggravated assault arrest warrant.

On Tuesday morning, January 27, Sheriff’s Deputies and detectives began a search of the residence and surrounding property. On Wednesday, January 29, Sheriff’s deputies found the remains of Mr. Sullivan, which had been damaged by fire, at the rear of the property. The nature of the investigation then changed to an investigation into a homicide.
