VISD trustees approve purchase of Vidor State Bank building for $75,000

January 6, 2000: Orange County Drainage District general manager Ron Sigler said flooding problems in Pine Forest and Vidor could be a thing of the past with the widening of Tiger Creek from Pine Forest to near IH-10. Sigler said over the past eighteen months the creek had been doubled and tripled in width.

Three new commissioners appointed to the ESD #1 board are Harold Schild, Richard Sessions and G. T. Sharp. They replace Ray Pace, Luther Smith and J. Ray Long. 25 years ago

January 5, 1995: City of Vidor reported construction values topped $3.6 million in 1994. The demolition and reconstruction of McDonalds accounted for $300,000 of the value.

Orange County Precinct 4 commissioner Bill Harland and Precinct 2 commissioner C. J. Huckaby said improved roads and drainage were the top priorities they would be addressing in their county precincts.

An ink spill at a Rose City business that caused firefighters to block off streets was later deemed insufficient to cause harm to humans or the environment.
