It’s January and your taxes are due

January is a special month for so many people. It is the month of New Year’s Resolutions both kept and broken. The Annual Festival of Sleep Day falls on January 3rd . January 4th is National Spaghetti Day. January 21st is National Hugging Day and, of course, January 31st is county and city Ad Valorem taxes due day.

Oh yes, that is right, your county, city and school taxes are due, in full, at the end of January. And that day (January 31, 2020) falls on a Friday this year. So start making your plans now to pay your Ad Valorem taxes by the end of this month.

Orange County Tax Assessor/Collector Karen Fisher said that her office collects all of your Ad Valorem taxes for every taxing entity in Orange County including city Ad Valorem taxes for the cities of Vidor, Rose City and Pine Forest. Her office also collects property taxes for the Vidor Independent School District,

(Emergency Services District #1), the Water District (Water Control and Improvement District #1), the County of Orange County, the Drainage District, the Port and Navigation District and several more.
