Turkey and dressing and all the ‘fixin’s’

A complete Thanksgiving feast, ready-to-prepare, is loaded in the hatchback of a Vidor citizen in need completely for free on Monday morning of this week. Brittany Lewis, shown here, loading a Thanksgiving Food Basket, was one of a number of United Christian Care Center of Vidor volunteers helping with the charitable donation. 168 families received a frozen turkey or hen and all of the traditional Thanksgiving meal food items.

While we settle back for an afternoon of Thanksgiving Day football games with full stomach and perhaps a slice of pumpkin pie, there are some among us that are struggling just to put a nourishing meal on the table for their family this Thanksgiving. And this year in Vidor, with so many people struggling to recover from the ravages of Tropical Storm Imelda, the need for help this holiday is even greater.
